Chapter 8
There was only one week left before summer would be over. As usual, Nagisa #2 was busy. Thus, Brian and AJ had no time to rest. But on the other hand, Youske and Yuko sat in Nagisa, too sad to think about the fact that their vacation would be over soon. Youske was bothering about his coming test while Yuko wanted to go to Disneyland.
Feeling bored, Yuko asked Ayumi when Brian and AJ would be leaving. Yuko thought that the two would leave after the summer vacation was over. This really bothered Ayumi who thought that the two would never leave. She felt the deep ruptures. Thinking of the two leaving, she felt like crying.

Youske was working very hard on his book when AJ approached to help.
"I'm different from you! You can't help me," Youske told him. AJ was shocked at this. Then, Brian walked over to them.
"Maybe I can help," Brian told Youske.
"Maybe. At least you're better," Youske replied.
"I'm out of here," said AJ.
Brian volunteered to help Youske study for the English test.
"I said something bad to AJ. Brian-san, am I too bad?"
"Don't worry. He won't think much of it."

Youske came over to Diamond Head at night and the two began their tutorial in the staff room. AJ and Ayumi decided to make supper for them. Suddenly, Ayumi felt that their presence was very important in her live and that she didn't want them to leave.
While revising, Youske asked Brian,
"When you were a teen, did you ever worry about your future?"
"Of course. Everyone worries about their futures."
After hearing this, Youske felt at ease.
Since Youske and Brian were studying in the room, AJ had nowhere to go and decided to iron the clothes downstairs. As he was bored, he called Ayumi for a chat.
"Before you came here, how were your summer vacations?"
"I was busy all the time. The worst summers that I had were when I was a swimmer. I had to concentrate on swimming all the time. Well, when the summer vacation was already over when I was about to think of it."
"I see. Then, I am more fortunate."
"Of course. I'm here to feel the end of summer vacation. How the summer turns to autumn."
"Weird. You're talking to me so nicely and told me so many things about you. Naze desuka? (Why?)"
"Don't think that I have special feelings towards you. I'm just too bored. I've no other choice. You know, I would die of I stopped talking for a minute."
"Bakka. There you go again. Who said I like you? Fat hope!"
When Masaru started to play that slow tune on his guitar, Brian, AJ, Ayumi and Youske all listened on, thinking about what to do after the summer ended.

Time passed and it was already August the 31st. Youske came to Diamond Head with good news that he did well in the test. He thanked Brian and Ayumi for the help and last but not least, AJ for the delicious meals.

At night, Brian and AJ went outside the resort and sat facing the sea. Both wanted to talk about their plans after the summer vacation ended.
"When I feel that my summer vacation is over, then I will think of what I'll do. But I don't think the summer in me is going to end soon," AJ explained.
"Yeah. But we can't stay here forever. I'm writing a story about this summer. As long as I'm concern, the story has not ended yet." This meant that Brian hadn't thought about what to do yet. Ayumi heard this and was relieved that the two would not be leaving yet. Feeling happy, Ayumi took two cans of beers and shook them before giving them to AJ and Brian. When the two opened the cans, the beer sprayed all over their faces, while Ayumi laughed away. Running towards Ayumi, the two then caught hold of her and threw her into the sea. Now, it was the their turn to laugh.

The next day, which happened to be the last day of summer, over at Nagisa, Yuko begged AJ to take her to Disneyland. Takako agreed of this idea. Youske at first didn't feel like going but since his test was over, he decided to let his hair down.
So, Brian, AJ, Takako, Ayumi, Youske and Yuko got ready to go to Disneyland.
Before leaving, they left a note for Masaru. When Masaru came back, he was mad that they didn't count him in for the trip. However, when he thought of the van they were using, he giggled.
"Bakka! The van is having a problem. Too bad. They will end up pushing the van instead of having fun in Disneyland."
The seven were excited about the trip and were singing happily in the van. But suddenly, the van came to a halt. They had no choice but to push the car back to the resort and canceled the trip. However, they knew that the summer wasn't over yet.
