Chapter 14
Jen grabbed a taxi and took it to the train station. Checking her watch, she was hoping she didn't miss it. She wanted to be there before the train came in so she would have enough time, and know she wasn't late.
Pulling in the parking lot, she gave the taxicab driver money and grabbed her purse. She walked to a bench and sat down, waiting. The train could be heard in the distance, so she stood up and walked to the phone, where she was told to meet her.
"Hey you." Stephanie replied hugging her cousin. They haven't seen each other since she left New York, before Jayson was born. Sure, she's sent pictures and letters, even called her, but it wasn't the same.
"Steph!" Jen replied returning the hug. "I've missed you so much." She said getting teary-eyed.
"Me too." Steph pulled back and looked at her. "Wow, you look great." She said and hugged her again.
"Thanks." Jen answered, and then led the way downstairs to wait for a cab.
The two talked about what has been going on in their lives, how their relationships have been going, and how they both changed. They pulled up at the hotel, and Jen helped Stephanie with her bags.
"I can't believe you are dating a Backstreet Boy."
"He's not a Backstreet Boy to me, Steph. He's just Nick. He's only a Backstreet Boy when he's on stage and meeting fans, to me anyway." Jen replied.
"Okay, Okay, chill." Jen laughed and then gave her a look. "Woah. Evil. Alright let's just go so I can see that baby of yours." Stephanie announced. Jen agreed and they lugged the suitcase to the elevator and to Jen's room.
"Hold up, I need to get the key." Jen said putting the suitcase down in the middle of the hallway and dug in her bag. She pulled it out and they walked to the room. When they got there, she swiped it through the machine and wlaked in. "Nick?" She called out. No answer. "Hm, I wonder where he is." She walked over to the bed and saw a note.
Jen:
Took Jay to the pool. The guys were going swimming so we went. Put your suit
on and meet us there.

"Awwww how cute." Steph sarcastically said.
"Hey, don't make fun!" Jen replied shaking her pointer finger in front of her. "Come on, lets go to the pool, you brought your bathing suit right?" Steph nodded and they both changed.
"Ready?" Steph nodded. Jen lead the way to the swimming pool, both talking the whole way. "Alright. Ready to meet everyone?" Jen asked pushing the door open. Stephanie nodded again.
"There she is!" Howie said coming over to her. "There's Mommy." He handed the baby to her.
"Hey Jay." Jen said kissing him. "Say hi to Stephanie."
"Hello Stephanie nice to meet you. I'm Howie." Howie said sarcastically.
"Oops, sorry." Jen laughed. "Steph, this is Howie. Howie, this is Steph."
"Hey." They shook hands.
"Okay, now, lets meet the rest of the guys." Jen said walking over to where everyone else was hanging out in the pool. "Okay, guys this is Steph. Steph, this is AJ, Brian, Kevin." Each of the guys waved as she said their names. "Okay, and this is Kevin's wife, Kristin. And Bri's fiancee LeighAnne."
"Hi, nice to meet you." Stephanie said shaking each of their hands.
"And this over here, is Nick." Nick came over and kissed Jen on the cheek. "Uh, thanks." She said wiping the water off her.
"Sorry, Hey Steph." He said kising her on the cheek.
"Hi, nice to finally meet ya." They all talked and got to know Stephanie.
"Here, go to Cousin Stephanie. You're gonna spend a few days with her so get to know her." Nick said handing Jay to Steph, then swam away to where Jen was hanging.
"I have a feeling you're up to something Carter." Jen announced as he inched closer.
"Like what, Baby?" He asked.
"I don't know. But something. I have no idea. It's juist a feeling that I have."
"Hmmm..."Nick sighed then touched the tip of his nose against hers, then kissed his way to her mouth.

"Okay, so this is the plan. You're taking Jayson for two days then me and Nick are going to come and get him the day after the party, hopefully without any fans." Jen laughed with Steph.
"Right. So then i'll see you the 7th." Steph said hugging her cousin.
"Okay, bye baby. Mommy will miss you. I love you." Jen kissed her son's forehead and hugged him one last time before watching her cousin take him on the train. He was actually handling this pretty well. He didn't cry. He actually smiled and laughed. "I'll miss you lots Jay." She whispered as the train pulled away. She sighed and got back intot he taxi and went to the venue where she was meeting everyone.
