Chapter 5
I pulled away from Brian and looked at him astonished. I had no idea why I did that! And the thing that's even weirder is that he kissed back. "Oh my God! Brian I am so sorry! I didn't mean to do it! I don't know what came over me!" I began freaking out. "Nick is gonna be so pissed. I just kissed his best friend!" I yelled as I ran into the bathroom. I slammed the door, slid to the floor, and put my head in my hands.
"Linds, please calm down. I don't want to see you upset. It's not all your fault. I kissed you too." Brian said as he knocked on the door. I could hear him slide to the floor outside the bathroom. He began singing through the door. "So how can he buy a love that's not for sale. You two were so in love I couldn't tell. And when I'm at home, I hear your heart it spells..." After hearing those words I opened the door.
"Brian, you have no idea how much those words just explained what happened." I said sitting next to Brian on the floor.
"Believe me, I know." I looked down at the floor. He placed his hand underneath my chin and lifted my head so our eyes met. "Lindsay, please don't worry about what happened. It was a mistake. You were drunk and caught up in the moment and-"
"Brian, if I was drunk, I probably would have done something worse. I wasn't drunk, but I don't know why I did it." I said trying to think of a reason why I would kiss my boyfriend's best friend. I am perfectly happy with Nick and I do NOT want to ruin what I have with him.
"Lindsay, we need to talk about this, just go to sleep for now. I think you'll be all right by yourself. Nick should be back in a little while."
~Next Morning~
I felt a hand wrapped around my waist and I could hear someone breathing in my ear. My eyes opened immediately. I turned my head slowly and saw Nick. "What have I done?" I asked myself silently. I know it was just a kiss, but I am so in love with Nick and I would be devastated if something happened to our relationship. Nick pulled me against him a little tighter and that's when I realized I had to tell him. Just not now.
~Afternoon(On The Bus)~
"OK, how about a key change here. Like this." I said and began to sing. Soon Brian joined me and we finished sinning the lyrics. Brian began to clap softly.
"You are really good at this, Linds." I was writing a song and asked Brian for helped. He changed a few things and I turned the song into a duet for him and I. It's a really sweet song about the bonds of friendship.
"Wow, that sounded really good guys." Nick said walking into the entertainment area Brian and I were in. He sat behind me almost straddling his legs around me. He wrapped his arms around me and began to kiss my neck.
"No funny business, Carter." I said warning him.
"Bri, can I steal her for a sec?" Nick asked. Brian nodded, but I
could tell he did it with hesitation. I looked at him, smiled, and blew a kiss. He smiled back. Nick proceeded to practically carry me to the front of the bus. We sat down at the couch near the kitchen area. "So, you happy about seeing your dad?" Nick said as we sat in the same position as before. I leaned my head back against his chest.
"Kinda. It's been a while, so it'll be kind of weird. But we've always been close, so I'm not too worried about it. Plus, I want him to meet you. He's always said he's gotta approve of the guys I date." Nick laughed a little. I looked up at him almost straining my neck.
"You know you have beautiful eyes?" Nick asked looking down at me.
"Yeah I know, just kiss me." I said nonchalantly. Nick always says
something like that and I know he wants a kiss. We kissed for a little while until Brian interrupted us.
"Ahem! Linds, can I talk to you?" Brian asked. I looked at Nick and he nodded. I kissed him one last time, rubbed his thigh lightly, and stood up to follow Brian.
"Yes Bri?" I said sitting next to him in the entertainment area.
"Lindsay, I'm not really sure how to tell you this."
