Chapter 24

I couldn't believe this day was happening. It was going yo be picture
perfect. I looked at myself in the mirror for a second. My hair was down
my back with curls at the end while the silky dress clung to my body. I
sighed as I slipped on my shoes waiting till it was noon.

~12:30~

"Do you Brian Littrell take Leighanne Wallace to be your..." That's
all I heard before I began to tear. Ha! Thought it was my wedding, didn't
ya. Well, no, not for a while longer...

The ceremony was finally over and I was standing outside waiting for
Leigh and Bri to come out of the church when I felt Nick wrap his arms
around my waist from behind. I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder.

"Doesn't this just make you want to get married?" Nick asked.

"Yeah." I said a little sadly. I was sad because Nick and I hadn't
told anyone about the engagement, engagement yet. Of course our parents
knew and Steph knew, but we didn't tell the guys. I had even kept it
hidden from Leighanne. Pretty much, we knew we'd hear, "are you crazy?!",
"you're too young!", yadda yadda yadda. So, it was a little secret Nick
and I kept to ourselves. I was almost 21 and Nick would be 22 in a few
months.

"Please don't be sad." He said as I looked up at him. I smiled and
we kissed just before we heard the cheers as Brian and Leigh exited the
church.

"So, when are you guys getting married?" Steph asked as I washed my
hands in the bathroom.

"I dunno. I have a feeling this is never gonna happen." I said in a
depressed tone.

"Oh stop it. Just give it time. You two are so in love." She said
trying to knock some sense into me. We walked out of the bathroom and
Leighanne was searching the halls for something.

"What's wrong, Leigh?" I asked loud enough so she'd hear me. I was
looking for you. We're about to throw the bouquet and you guys have to
get out there." She said and dragged the two of us into the hall they
rented. As I walked towards the group of women on the dance floor, I
glanced at Nick to see what he was doing. He just smiled. Leigh turned
her back as I closed my eyes. I did not want to catch this thing. Then,
someone grabbed my hands and held them in the air. I opened my eyes and
it was Steph. And without a moments notice the bouquet landed in my left
hand. My mouth gaped open. I smacked Steph with the flowers as all eyes
were on me. Then, it was time to throw the garter. Most of the guys
gathered on the dance floor except for the newly wedded Kevin. I moved
off to the side as Nick winked at me from the group. The garter flew in
the air and being the tallest of the guys, guess who caught it. That's
right...my Nickolas.

I took a seat in the chair Leigh had placed on the dance floor. This
was when the guy who caught the garter was supposed to slide it up the
leg of the girl who caught the bouquet. Nick approached me and knelt down
on the floor as he got ready with the garter. I was extremely embarrassed
until all of a sudden Nick reached into his pocket and shifted so he was
on one knee. I saw that all too familiar black velvet box and I began to
tear.

"Lindsay, will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry
me?" He asked looking into my eyes. I smiled as I nodded my head.

"Of course." I said as Nick slipped off the ring that was already on
my finger and replaced it a slightly bigger one. I stood up and engulfed
Nick in my arms.

"Finally." I whispered. We pulled away slightly so we could kiss.

"I love you so much, Nick."

~Later That Night~

"Be good while I'm gone." Leigh said as her and Bri were about to
get into the limo taking them to the air port. They were on their way to
the Carribean for the honey moon.

"I will." I said hugging her.

"You are one lucky girl. Just remember that." She said and kissed my
cheek.

"Damn Nick. I'm get married and you get engaged. I don't think the
fans will be pleased." Brian said sarcastically.

"Shut up, Frick." Nick said jokingly.

"Nick, you've really grown up. I'm proud of ya." Brian said as the
two hugged.

"Thanks."

"Just take care of her." Were Brian's last words. We finished our
goodbyes and the two left. Nick and I walked towards his truck and he
noticed I couldn't stop smiling.

"You happy?" He asked.

"Happy?! I'm overjoyed! I'm in love...with you!" I said as we
stopped walking. I wrapped my arms around Nick's neck and we kissed
deeply.

"I love you too." Nick said as we pulled away.

All we needed to do now was plane the wedding. Why am I not looking
forward to that?
