Chapter 37
The Next Morning
Brian's View
"Guys we need to call the police," Howie said. We were in a hotel room getting ready to leave.
"NO! We can't do that!" I yelled.
"I know but we can't just not tell them!" Howie said.
"Tiffany and Darlene are not going to die!" Nick yelled.
"I'm not going to let that happen!" I yelled also.
"CALM DOWN! I know you're upset but you need to stay calm! We will get them back!" Kevin said.
I sighed and sat down on the bed, "I just want her back."
"I know you do," Kevin said softly. "We all want her back and I'm not letting Darlene get hurt. I really want to meet her."
"We all do," AJ said. "She sounds really nice."
"She is," Nick mumbled.
"Look I can't wait anymore! I'm going to the pay phone right now! I'll wait forever to get that call!" I yelled getting up.
"I'll go with you," Nick said.
"K," I said.
"I'll come too," Kevin said.
"NO! We are the ones that the note was too! Not you so just stay here!" I yelled. I looked at Michelle and picked her up, "I'm going to bring mommy back OK?"
"K," she said.
"OK," I said. "I love you"
"I love you too," she said. I kissed her on the forehand and hugged her. I put her down and picked up AJ's car keys.
"See ya guys," I said.
"Bye," they all mumbled.
I drove to 3rd street and parked a block away. The guy didn't say what time so I don't know when he's going to call. Anyway Nick and I got out of the expedition and walked over to the pay phone. I opened the door and walked in. Nick stayed outside and waited. 10 minutes past and finally it started to ring. I picked it up quickly.
"HELLO!?" I said.
"I see you brought your friend. GOOD! Now listen!" the voice on the other end ordered. He continued to explain where I was supposed to go and how I couldn't call the police. He said I had to go to this one warehouse with Nick and then he would tell us what we would need to do. I'm really nervous as to what I might see. I mean Tiffany could be dead already! Brian you dumb ass! Don't think about that!
"What did he say?" Nick asked right when I hung up the phone.
"He said we have to go to this old warehouse and he'll tell us what to do then," I said sadly.
"Why is this happening!?" Nick yelled.
"I don't know! Everything happens to me! Right when Tiffany's back in my life something goes wrong! My life sucks!" I said.
"Yeah well so does mine," Nick mumbled.
"Look we need to get to the warehouse," I said running my hand through my hair.
"Yeah," Nick said stuffing his hands in his pockets. We got in the expedition and went to the address that the kidnapper told me. It was in the bad part of town and it was one of many old buildings. I hopped out of the car and looked at the huge warehouse. I swallowed hard and closed the door. I was walking up to the door when Nick stopped me.
"What?" I asked.
"Lets go through the back so we can see what were dealing with," he said.
"Good idea," I said. "Oh yeah! Call Kevin while we go around the building and tell him where we are."
"K," he said. He took his cell phone out of his back pocket and dialed Kevin's cell phone number. We walked around the building slowly and cautiously until we came to a door that was right behind the building. Nick just got done talking to Kevin and he was right behind me looking around nervously.
"K, here it is," I said taking a deep breath. I opened the door and luckily it didn't squeak. Nick walked quietly in front of me and I followed him. I closed the door and walked past Nick who was looking around.
"C'mon," I whispered. It was kind of dark but we could still see where we were going. In front of us were large boxes that stacked almost to the ceiling. I walked over to them and peeked through the holes. There were four people. OMG! They're Mandy, Josh, Leighanne and of course SARA! Tiffany and Darlene were on the floor and they weren't tied up. Sara was pointing a gun at both of them. Josh also had a gun in his hand. OH GOD! How am I supposed to do this?! Just then Sara said something.
"Looks like your boyfriend should be here soon and when he gets here I'll have the pleasure of killing you right in front of his eyes!" she smiled.
"Brian will save both of us! You're not going to get away with this Bitch," Tiffany said.
Tiffany! Don't do that! Sara walked over to her and kicked her in the stomach. Tiffany groaned in pain. Sara then kicked her again and she kept kicking her until I couldn't bare to watch. I ran past Nick and into the view of everyone.
"Brian stop!" I heared Nick say behind me. I ignored him and yelled, "STOP!"
Everyone looked at me shocked.
"GET HIM!" Sara yelled. Josh ran over with the gun pointed right at me. I didn't move at all. I wasn't about to get shot trying to save myself. Nick was right behind me when Josh came over and grabbed my arm. He pouched me in the stomach and then pointed the gun at Nick and said, "DON'T TRY ANYTHING FUNNY!"
I was dragged over to the girls and pushed down to the hard cement. Tiffany and Darlene watched in horror as Josh pointed the gun at Nick. Nick looked at him wide eyed, "Please...don't."
Josh smiled wider and pulled the trigger.
