Chapter 1
"Okay, lets review everything that you need to know before the plane lands." Ms. Micheals started as our plane to Orlando took off.
"Go ahead, I'm ready" I stated
"Okay, basically, he's a 22 year old guy, he's an entertainer of some sort, I think he's in a singing group, the Back-some-thing-or-other-Boys"
"and…."
"He requested that you homeschool, he travels an awful lot and wants you to come with him, he said it would more educational for you then sitting in a geography class"
"That might be fun, I guess." I said quietly.
"Well, the agency didn't like that, they were concerned that you may not have the chance to make friends because you'd be gone a lot, not to mention the fact that you wouldn't be in a public high school to help you with your social life." Ms. Micheals said, then took a long pause to let me speak my mind.
"I'll be fine, I just want to get my life back in gear, I only hope he can help me do that." I stated convincingly, more trying to convince myself then anyone.
"Well, after much contemplation, the agency decided that it was in your best interest and that if your parents wanted you with him then they had good reasoning. "
I sighed and then took a deep breath. "Ms. Micheals, I'll be fine, don't worry about me, like you said, if my parents didn't want me with him they wouldn't have signed me over to him in the will before they died."
"Have you met him?" I asked with some curiosity evident in my voice.
She grinned before answering "Yes, I met him about a week ago, he is……well……..interesting…."
"I don't get it" I said.
"Well, lets just say he's not your average godfather looking guy. He is pretty wild looking, with multiple tattoos and ear peircings. But after spending time with him I realize, that's just his outer shell, on the inside he's really a sweet guy who looks forward to meeting you."
"I think I'm ready for this Ms. Micheals, I'm ready to move on."
"I know you are sweetheart, now, get some rest, you'll need it tomorrow when you two meet."
"Ms. Micheals?"
"hmmm??"
"Thank you"
"Your welcome sweetie" With that, I dozed off into a deep restful sleep.
