Chapter 10
[back at Celine & Tes' parents house in
Alexandria]
"Did you call Kevin yet?" Tes asked Celine who was packing her clothes
"um no," Celine said throwing her stuff into suitcases "Can you grab the
piece of paper in my purse and see what the # is?"
"Sure it's 1-383-555-9384." Tes said reading off the #
Celine dialed the phone # and it kept ringing.
"Derek's pizza parlor." a voice answered
"Um Do I have the wrong #?" Celine asked
"Nope you don't hey babe." Kevin said laughing
"You friggin scared me." Celine said matter of factly
"So you and Tessy got home safe," Kevin said "Another inquiring mind named
Aj wants to know if she has a phone he can call her on?"
"Um yeah wait a second," Celine said getting Tes' phone # "it's
1-275-172-1735."
"He'll call her then," Kevin said "So the directions eh?"
"Yep directions," Celine said "I'm so lost practically it's sick."
"Why are you lost?" Kevin questioned
"Well lets see," Celine said tapping her desk "I've got to tell my parents
about this, deal with my schooling, deal with getting to FL and all of this
other stuff."
"Boy sucks to be you but here are the directions." Kevin said
They talked for a while and Celine got all of the information she needed
to know. She then hung up and went down to talk to her parents.
"Dad," Celine said nudging his shoulder "can we talk?"
"Yeah where's your mom?" Bruce, Celine and Tes' dad asked
"Who knows?" Celine said
"JULIE!!!!!!" Bruce shouted
Julie came out to the living room and sat down.
"Hello Celine." Julie said with a sort of disgusted look on her face
"Hi and what is the ticked off look for?" Celine asked
"Don't start Celine Marie Matte." Julie said
"Well lets do this," Celine said smiling "Dad I'll tell you it here and pretend
Julie's eavesdropping."
"I'm your mother not Julie."
"Well you act like a step mother instead of my mom." Celine said "So dad
when I went to the concert I ended up with a headache and I went to the doctors'
and she said that I should take a month or more off school and that Change
of a college would be better."
"Are you moving back home?" Bruce asked
"No not really dad," Celine said "I'm going to transfer to the University
of South Florida."
"What?" Julie shouted
"Julie calm down." Bruce said
"Mom it's my life," celine said "You don't care about my career anyways according
to your last phone call to me I was wasting my time."
"Celine," Julie suggested "You need to go into something that you can get
a job in."
"Mom I will get a job in this," Celine said arguing "Plus I'm moving in with
my boyfriend."
"Why haven't you told us about this boyfriend?" Julie questioned
"Because you don't care about anything else in my life mom," Celine said
"Dad and Tes are the ONLY ones."
"Celine do whatever you want," Julie said getting up "It's your life."
"Exactly MY life mom," Celine said as her mom walked away "Dad why can't
she just understand?"
"C-C I don't know," Bruce said "I understand totally and go for your dreams."
"Thanks dad so much for being so supportive because I think I'd go crazy
if I had to deal with her all of the time." Celine said hugging her dad
"You're welcome go pack up your stuff." Bruce said patting her on the back
Celine went up to her room and ran into her mom.
"Celine you can do whatever," Julie said "I don't care and if you do choose
then don't come to me when you are broke."
"Mom," Celine said "I won't be broke."
"Whatever that slob boyfriend you have won't be able to support you." Julie
said
"Wanna bet mom?" Celine said
"Yeah I'll bet." JUlie said
"Fine at Christmas we'll be home," Celine said laughing "and you'll see WHO
is the best in the family."
Celine ran into her room and dialed Kevin's #. She started crying.
"Please Please Please Pick up Kevin." Celine muttered to herself
A groggy voice answered "Hello?"
"Kevin it's me." Celine said
"Baby what's wrong?" Kevin asked
"MY mom is just harping on me about the whole college career thing and
I can't take it." Celine said tears running down her face
"Oh baby I wish I could be there with you." Kevin said
"I can't wait to get out of here Kevin," Celine said trying to calm down
"I hate it here."
"Are you all packed?" Kevin asked
"Yeah I'm ready," Celine said wiping away the tears "Did I wake you up?"
"Yeah sorta," Kevin told her "but it's okay because I told you whenever
you need me to call me."
"Thanks Kevin," Celine said "I'm gonna head to bed I love you."
"I love you too." Kevin said "Tell Tes if she is still up AJ says good
nite."
"She's asleep," Celine said "She's driving the first part of the trip
and I'm driving the second."
"Good be careful," Kevin said "nite baby."
"Nite." Celine said pointing the phone dad and drifting off to sleep
