Chapter 16
[Around 8 that night]
"So Celine how are you dealing with Kevin being away?" Diane asked as they
walked out of Delia*s where Celine bought a cute black skirt and black matching
top
"I'm dealing fine," Celine said "I'm actually used to living away from people,
although it's gonna be weird living totally alone."
"Why is that?" Diane questioned
"I've always had a roomate and now Tes is with me till her break is up and
then it's back to just me." Celine said
"I see," Diane said "I can understand why it would be so lonely living there
by yourself."
"I'm ready to just tell Kevin that I don't wanna transfer but I've gotta
do it to keep my sanity." Celine said
"How old are you anyways?" Diane asked "If you don't mind me asking."
"Oh no I don't care I'm 24." Celine said
"Well don't hesitate to come over to our house," Diane said "I'm only 2 years
older than you."
"That's good to know that I can always come visit you." Celine said "I have
a feeling I'll get so lonely even more than what I am now."
"Probably want to fly home every weekend?" Dianed said joking
"Yeah probably," Celine said "I'm like hoping Kevin can convince someone
he knows to move in, I mean it's not like he doesn't have enough rooms."
"Do you wanna go into Abercrombie & Fitch," Diane asked "Because I have
to get Steve some stuff."
"I think I'll stay out of there," Celine said laughing "I spent enough in
there the other day, I'm gonna go to Armani Xchange and look for some stuff
for xmas presents so I don't have to do it when I'm cramming for college
finals."
"Good idea," Diane said "I've never thought of that."
"Yeah I did earlier today." Celine said walking into Armani Xchange
Celine looked thru the racks of clothes and found some stuff for ther guys.
She picked out a Black pair of dress pants and a dark blue long sleeve dress
shirt for Howie. A dark hunter green long sleeve shirt and black pairs of
pants for Nick. For AJ a leopard printed long sleeve shirt and black pair
of pants. Brian she found a black pair of pants and Grayish blue long sleeve
shirt. Kevin she bought black pants and a black and gray long sleeve shirt.
She hoped the boys could all wear these one night for a press conference.
Diane walked in behind her as she was paying.
"I'd say we went shopping." Diane joked
"Yeah I bought Kevin and His friends their presents." Celine said
"All matching pants," Celine said "Of course different tops to suit their
styles."
"That's nice," Diane said "Are you getting Kevin and other stuff?"
"Yeah I wanted to go to a jewelry store but I can't find one in this mall."
Celine said
"You realize you have like 2 months till christmas?" Diane said
"But I have 1 month till I start college again." Celine repeated
"The best jewelry store here is probably my Dad's store." Diane said laughing
"Then take me there." Celine said
Celine and Diane walked her dad's jewelry store in the mall. It was very
nice inside. Obviously he had money to make such a nice place. Celine walked
over to the guys rings.
"Wow this one is awesome." Celine said pointing to a gold ring with a jade
chip in it.
"That is a really nice one," Diane said "It's Steve's favorite."
"I think it's awesome." Celine said
"It's 2,500 too." Diane said laughing
"Oh that's cool with me." Celine said "It'll be his basically only christmas
present."
"If you're willing to buy it," Diane said "my dad will sell it to you for
list price."
"How much does it cut it down too?" Celine asked
"About 1700." Diane said "I'm not getting it for Steve becasue I hate it."
"WHy?" Celine asked
"I personally hate gold." Diane said pointing to her silver jewelry
"Ahhh I mean you don't have too." Celine said
"WHy not," Diane said "Kevin will probably spoil you and so you should be
able to get him more."
"Alright." Celine said "He wears a Size 10."
Meanwhile music started to play inside the store. Show me the meaning of
being lonely came on. The lyric "Life goes on as it never end eyes of stone
observe the trend they never say forever gaze for me guilty roads to endless
love theres no control are you with me now" ran through her head.
"Hey do you have your credit card?" Diane asked knocking Celine out of her
trans
"Um yeah here ya go." Celine said handing her a piece of plastic
She walked with Diane over to get the ring and sign the credit card slip.
She took the bag and went with Diane out to her car.
"Thanks so much for taking me," Celine said getting into the car "I had a
great time."
"I'm glad you did," Diane said turning on the radio "I bet you're happy you
got most of your christmas shopping done!"
"yes So relieved," Celine said "Now if I can only hide the presents."
"I bet." Diane said
They drove back to their houses and talked the whole way there. Celine felt
like she and Diane were going to become close and she was glad to have such
a nice person living next door. When Celine got home she went to bed so she
could leave the next morning to go get the guys.
