Chapter 13

The Next Day

Brian's View

"Is Mr. Littrell here?" I heard a deep voice ask from the door. I looked up and saw a couple police officers standing outside Tiffany's hospital door asking a nurse where I was. The nurse turned and pointed to me and then shuffled off. The cops looked over at me and then entered the room.

"Hello Mr. Littrell, could we have a word with you for a minute or two?" one of the men asked. I nodded my head and let go of Tiffany's hand. I stood up and followed them out of the room and down the hall a little ways.

"We are aware of your situation..." the cop with the deep voice said.

"Oh how convenient," I muttered stuffing my hands in my pockets and sighing.

"We are deeply sorry on the news on your wife and your two children Michelle and Christian, we're praying for them," the other cop said.

"Thanks, so why are you here? It's obviously got nothing to do with having sympathy for me," I asked looking up at them. I was frustrated that they wouldn't get to the point.

"We're helping on the case of your three missing children, a Miss. Courtney Littrell, a Miss. Brianna Littrell and a Mr. Brian Littrell Jr. That's right isn't it?" the man with the deep voice asked.

"That is correct," I said. I was now totally interested in what they were here for. Maybe they found them and they want to surprise me or maybe they just have some really good news.

"We have not had any leads to where they are..."

"What? Wait a second...why the hell not!?" I exclaimed.

"It's only been a couple days Mr. Littrell," said one of the cops.

"Only a couple days? Well those couple days have been complete hell for me! It feels like eternity! My babies are out there somewhere with some psycho bitches and you have no idea where they might be!? Aren't you the police!? Get your ass's to work! I want my babies back here...HERE! In my arms!"

"Please keep calm Mr. Littrell, we're doing the best..."

"Obviously you aren't doing the 'best' you can! If you were I would have my babies back! Do you know what this is gonna to do my wife? Do you have any idea at all? Her children are practically her life! She has spent so many years raising them and nurturing them! Of course she loves them, their her children but she loves them way more than any of you might think! I love them more than any of you might think! This will kill her! I don't want her waking up and me having to tell her that two of her children are in the hospital and three were kidnapped!"

"Mr. Littrell, calm down!" barked one of the cops. "We are doing the best we can! We are trying to get your children back to you safely but it'll take time, in the mean time just stay here with your family."

"I have been and half my family are in hospital beds," I said quietly. One of the cops patted my shoulder.

"We'll notify you as soon as we find anything out, I'm sure it'll be soon. Just keep your hopes up, we're doing the best we can to return them to you."

I nodded and with that they left. I sighed deeply and then went back to Tiffany's room. The monitors were beeping lightly and Tiffany's face was lit up by the sun. Even though she was in the hospital, she was still the most beautiful woman alive.

"Hey honey, I'm back sweetie," I said sitting down next to her bed and then taking her hand in mine. I looked at her for a moment and then breathed in.

"Princess, I have to tell you something, you should know and I know you would want to know. Something happened a couple nights ago to the kids..." I began. I swallowed hard and then continued, "Leighanne, Mandy, and Sara got out of jail and went over to our house. One of them threw Michelle down the stairs and another one threw Christian out a couple glass doors. The babies and Courtney were kidnapped. Jason's completely fine, so don't worry about him OK? Michelle and Christian are going to be fine too."

I slightly lied on that last part, I didn't know for sure if they were gonna be OK or not and that just scared me to no end. Telling this to her when she was in a coma was, to be honest, easier but I knew I would have to tell her all over again when she did wake up and I really didn't want to see her beautiful eyes fill with tears and then overflow.

"Honey, I know you can hear me and I'm sorry that this had to happen. I'm so sorry that this had to happen, this is all my fault, my life is falling apart because of all this," I said softly, tears were about to escape my eyes.

"This is all my fault...my fault," I cried burying my head in her sheets and sobbing. I sat there, my hand in hers, crying my eyes out, for what seemed like forever. I just let everything out.

Then something happened that I never would have expected. I lifted my head slowly and looked at Tiffany's hand. Was I just imagining what I thought I felt? I just sat there staring at her hand, waiting for it to happen again. Finally, it did.

"Oh my gosh, Tiffany! Honey open your eyes," I said looking up from her hand which just moved slightly. She just laid there.

"Sweetie, come on, do it for me, squeeze my hand if you can hear me," I said. I waited a few moments and I felt her squeeze my hand lightly. A huge smile spread across my face.

"Oh Gawd, Baby open your eyes, please," I pleaded. She groaned and tilted her head slightly but she didn't open her eyes. Tears were still slowly falling down my cheeks and I looked at her hopeful.

"I'm here baby, I'm right here," I said softly. A miracle then happened...something that I never would have dreamed of...her eyes slowly fluttered open and stared into mine.
