Chapter 49
1 Hour Later
Brian's View
The rest of the guys showed up 50 minutes ago. Howie,
Kevin, and AJ are sitting with me and Colleen, Stacey, and Mary are sitting
with Tiffany. I'm trying to so hard to ignore Tiffany but it's not working
very well. I have to keep looking at her. AJ smacks me every time I do look
up at her. He told me to ignore her and make her feel bad. I'm trying to
ignore her but it's just not happening.
"IT'S A GIRL!" we heard Nick scream as he ran into
the waiting room with the biggest smile on his face. We all jumped up and
smiled at him. I only smiled because there's another baby in the Backstreet
family. I'm still pissed off of course.
"That's great!" Colleen exclaimed jumping up and down
and then giving Nick a hug.
"Congrats man," Kevin grinned patting Nick on the
back.
"Thanks," Nick smiled. Everyone else said their
congratulations and finally we were allowed to go see Darlene. We walked
in the room and found Darlene laying on the bed with a baby girl in her
arms.
"How cute!" Mary gushed as she rushed over to Darlene.
The rest of the girls followed except Tiffany. She stood back not knowing
what to do.
"What's her name?" Howie asked looking at the baby
with a huge smile plastered on his face.
"Alyssa," Darlene smiled.
"That's a beautiful name!" I said.
"Yeah Nick and I chose it a couple of months ago,"
she said quietly. We all looked at Nick and slightly glared at him.
"What?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes and said, "You have a really bad
memory."
He stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked
down.
"Oh give him a break!" Colleen said. We all looked
at her shocked.
"Who's side are you on?" Darlene asked.
"No one's at the moment. You both have your own stories
and I support both of them," she said simply. Mary and Stacey nodded their
heads in agreement.
"But that's not fair!" Darlene said.
"How isn't it fair?" Kevin asked.
"Because..."
"I'm on your side Dar," I spoke up. She turned to
me and smiled.
"Must we talk about this now?" Howie asked. "I mean
you just had a baby. We should enjoy ourselves right now."
"He's right," AJ said.
"OK, let's just put this off," Mary said. Everyone
else agreed. For the rest of the day we just hung around and played with
the new member on the Backstreet family, Alyssa.
2 Weeks Later
Over at Tiffany and Brian's House
Darlene's View
I'm still not talking to Nick. I'm talking to Tiffany
though. She feels horrible for what she did and she wouldn't stop apologizing
to me. I got so annoyed by it that I just gave in and forgave her.
"Darlene, she is so cute!" Tiffany gushed holding
Alyssa in her arms.
"I know!" I smiled. I had Christian in my arms and
we were just talking about anything.
"So what's new in your life?" I asked.
"Nothing much, Brian and I are still not talking.
How about you?" she asked.
"Same," I sighed.
"Darlene will you please just talk to him?" Tiffany
asked.
"No," I shook my head.
"Please? For me? He's really upset and he regrets
ever kissing me. Please, please, please," she begged.
I sighed and looked at her.
"Pleeeease? He feels horrible just like I do. He loves
you Darlene and he's sorry. Just give him a chance," she said.
"I dunno..."
"C'mon Darlene, I know you wanna give in. Stop being
so stubborn."
"I'm not being stubborn!"
Tiffany just laughed.
"I'm not!"
"OK, you're not!"
"Thank you," I smiled.
"So?"
"So what?"
"Are you going to talk to him or not?"
"I dunno Tiff, maybe I should let him suffer."
"He's suffered enough believe me," she giggled.
I sighed and ran my fingers through Christian's curly
blond hair, "OK, I'll talk to him tonight."
"OH! THANK YOU SO MUCH DARLENE!" Tiffany exclaimed.
I just laughed at how enthusiastic she was.
"Calm down!" I giggled. Tiffany just giggled with
me. I'm actually looking forward to talking to Nick tonight.
