Chapter 53

Tiffany's View

I'm in shock right now. I mean Melissa could be pregnant with Brian's child. They could have slept together and Brian is just lying about it. Well...even though I'm hurt he doesn't care. He doesn't love me anymore. Every time I say or think that my heart just sinks and breaks into a million pieces.

"Mommy?" Michelle asked coming into the room.

"Yeah baby?"

"Why aren't you talking to daddy anymore?" she asked coming over to me and putting her hand on my knee.

"Michelle honey I gotta tell you something," I said putting Christian in his rocker and then picking Michelle up and putting her on my lap.

"Daddy and I are kinda in a fight."

"A fight?"

"Yes, a fight and well we're not together anymore."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that Daddy and I are not getting married or having anymore babies," I said with a tears coming to my eyes.

"No more brother's or sister's?

"No...no more brother's or sister's."

"But that's not fair! You and daddy make up right now!"

"I wish it were that easy sweetie."

"It is easy! Say sorry mommy! Just say sorry!"

"I can't..."

"I want you and daddy together," Michelle said starting to cry.

"I want us to be together too honey," I said softly hugging her tight.

Brian's View

I listened as Michelle and Tiffany talked. I was beginning to get tears to my eyes. This is really affecting Michelle. I don't want her to grow up without a Mom and Dad that aren't together. I don't know what I should do. Tiffany said she wanted to be with me. I want to be with her too but my mind is telling me to just stay away from her so she won't hurt me again. Now my heart is telling me to just stay with her and marry her. I don't know which to listen too.

"Michelle? Why are you crying Angel?" I asked walking into the living room and over to the couch. Tiffany looked at me sadly as Michelle cried into her shoulder.

"Angel?" I asked touching her back. She looked at me with tears streaming down her face.

"I want you and mommy to get married," she said.

"Oh...Angel that's just not going to happen," I said picking her up.

"Why not?" she sniffled.

"Because we're not together anymore."

"Why?"

"Because we got in a fight."

"Why?"

"Because we don't get along that well."

"Why?" she asked. I sighed getting frustrated.

"Because we've grown apart."

"Why?"

"Michelle sweetie...we're just not getting married OK?"

"But I want you to get married."

"Angel listen to me. Not everybody is meant for each other. Some things are just mistakes and well...mommy and I were a mistake."

"So she's a mistake?" Tiffany asked standing up. I looked at her surprised, "What?"

"Michelle's a mistake?"

"No...I didn't say that."

"Yes you did. You said we were a mistake so if I was a mistake then so is Michelle and Christian."

"No! Michelle and Christian are not mistakes!"

"Then what are they? If I was a mistake then they would be since I gave birth to them."

"Michelle and Christian are not mistakes. I love them very much."

"So you don't love me anymore?" she asked quietly.

"I...yeah...I mean no...."

"Daddy? Why don't you love mommy?"

"I do love her."

"Then why aren't we together!?" Tiffany asked looking at me. Her eyes were welling up with tears.

"Because...Tiffany we're not going to discuss this. Especially in front of the kids," I said putting Michelle down.

"No, we're going to talk about this now."

"No, we're not," I said walking out of the room. I heard Tiffany tell Michelle to watch Christian and then she walked after me.

"Brian...please talk to me."

I spun around to face her. She had tears running down her cheeks.

"Why should I talk to you?"

"Because I love you and this is really bothering me. I miss you and I wanna be with you."

"I don't want to be with you," I said coldly and then walked up the stairs. She just ran up the stairs and stopped in front of me blocking my way.

"Brian why aren't you talking to me? What did I do?"

"You broke my heart one to many times and I'm not going to let that happen again."

"Brian I'm sorry. I just thought..."

"It would be the best for the both of us. I know you've told me a thousand times but I'm doing this for me. It's the best for me. I don't want to have my heart broken again. I won't be able to handle it. Now if you will excuse me I have to take a shower," I said pushing past her and walking to my room. She followed me and closed the door behind her.

"I'm not going to leave you alone about this."

"Stop bugging me," I said kicking off my shoes.

"No! Brian we belong together and I'm not leaving this room until we're together again!" Tiffany said.

"You're going to be in here for the rest of your life. Have fun," I said taking my shirt off and throwing it in the laundry basket.

"I know you still love me...you said it yourself."

"So what if I do love you? That doesn't mean anything," I said going through my drawers for some clean clothes. I picked out a blue shirt and then looked for some shorts.

"Love doesn't mean anything to you?" she cried. I turned around and looked at her hurt face.

"Tiffany..." I sighed. "I'll always love you and it does matter it's just that I'm not going to get hurt again."

"I understand but I'm not going to hurt you again!"

"How are you so sure? How many times have we've broken up? We have an on off relationship and it's a permanent off now."

"But I don't want us to be apart. If we love each other we should be together. Brian...I want to marry you!"

"I wanted to marry you too."

"Why can't we just go back to the way we used to be?"

"We can't! Our relationship is too different now and it will never be the same. It would be better if we were friends."

"I don't want to be friends and I know deep down that you don't want to be friends."

"You're right...I want to be with you more than anything."

"Then why are you doing this?"

"I'm just looking out for myself."

"I'm not going to hurt you again! Don't you trust me?"

"I don't know, I mean you were just making out with Nick like 2 weeks ago."

"That doesn't mean anything and you should be lucky I'm even talking to you."

"Why is that?"

"Because you've cheated on me and then Melissa says she's pregnant with your child."

"She's not pregnant with my child! We've never had sex and I would never have sex with her! I don't love her...I love you."

"Then we should be together and married!"

"Tiffany...please don't make this any harder than it already is," I pleaded.

She just bit her lip and wiped her cheeks. She looked up at me and then walked over to me. I looked at her confused as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

"What ar..." I began but was cut off when she pressed her lips to mine. I was a little taken aback but I closed my eyes and dropped the blue shirt that was in my hand. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her close kissing her back. I kissed her deeply as she ran her hands through my hair.

"Please come back to me..." she whispered pulling away from our kiss and looking into my eyes.
