Chapter 1

I love flying. Right now I am on a plane flying to Orlando to see my two best friends in the entire world. Before I continue I’d better introduce my friends and myself.

My full name is Melissa Eve Gogo, but no one ever uses my full name. My family and friends have various nicknames for me including Meliss, Lissa, Gigi, and Shorty. I am 19 years old, and on summer vacation after finishing my freshman year of college at the University of Arts in New York. I am extremely tiny being only 4’11" and thin. I have light brown hair streaked with blond highlights in the summer, once the sun gets to it, and gray eyes that can look either blue or green depending on the light. For the most part, I am a laid back optimist. My two best friends are Stacie and Deborah.

Stacie’s full name is Stacie Michelle Gogo. Yup, we’re related; we’re sisters. Although we’re sisters we look nothing alike. Stacie is 18 years old and has just completed her senior year of high school. Stacie, although younger, is much taller than I am, being around 5’6". She has very dark, long, wavy hair whereas mine is light, short, and straight. The most unique feature of Stacie is her eyes. One eye is light brown with a dark brown ring around it, while the other is dark brown with a pie slice of the light brown of the other eye.

Deborah’s full name is Deborah Rachel Thomas. Her nicknames include Deb and Dee. Deb is also 19 years old and has just finished her freshman year of college at the Royal Academy of Dramatics in England. Deb is also short, being 4’11" and a quarter. She never lets you forget that quarter! Deb has light brown, straight, medium length hair, and light brown eyes. From the description of these general characteristics you can tell that Deb and I look more alike than Stacie and I do.

All three of us have very different personalities, but what brings us together is that we all have nearly impossible dreams, unsupported by our parents. Both Stacie and Deb want to end up in the spotlight as TV or movie actresses, but preferably as singers. I, on the other hand, being more reserved, like to be behind the scenes. I want to be an artist or a musician. These dreams are the reason Stacie and Deb are in Orlando and why I am on this airplane right now.

Deb and Stacie flew down as soon as they finished school to try to get recording time and make it big in the music business. I’m on my way to visit them for the last month of my summer vacation.

Oops, there goes the seatbelt signal. We must be about ready to land. I can see Orlando becoming larger beneath me out the window………
