Chapter 12
Meanwhile
Sierra's eyes opened. The room was very bright now, and she realized it was
morning. Her eyes focused more and she noticed that her head was rested on
top of Brian's chest. She sat up quickly.
"Good morning." Brian smiled at Sierra. He had woken up a few minuets earlier,
and had been watching her.
She smiled back at him, still not believing that they had fallen asleep together,
and that he had not left. She felt so safe and warm next to him, and did
not want him to leave.
"And how long have you been awake, may I ask?" She laughed at him.
"Actually, not very long." He yawned, and looked outside. "I guess the storms
over, huh?"
"Yeah. And we slept right through it. I wonder what time it is?" She tried
to see the alarm clock on the dresser, but only saw a flashing 12:00.
Brian still had his arm around her, so she laid her head against his shoulder.
She was uncertain if he wanted her to or not, but took the chance anyway.
She didn't see him smile as he pulled her a little closer to him.
