Chapter 27

7 hours later

“Listen, for the last time, I don’t know where he is.” Nick shrugged and flipped through a magazine.

Kevin sighed and got up from the couch. “Since he didn’t show up here in the lobby, and he’s not answering the phone in his room, let’s try the halls, maybe he’s just walking around.”

“Aight.” AJ put on his sunglasses and grabbed his bag. “Let’s just do this fast guys, cause we’re gonna be late for practice.”

Howie, Nick, AJ, and Kevin searched the hallways near their hotel rooms.

“Better safe than sorry.” AJ knocked on door 237, Brian’s room.

“J, he’s not in there –“ Nick’s words were cut off when the door opened. Brian stood at the frame wearing only his boxers. He rubbed his eyes, and tousled his hair.

“Frick, what the hell are you doin’? We have practice in half an hour, and you felt you needed some beauty sleep?” Nick laughed.

“Man, you were supposed to be in the lobby 10 minutes ago...remember?” Howie rolled his eyes. He hated being late.

“Sorry guys, I must have lost track of time.” Brian just smiled.

“Yeah, I’d say you did.” Kevin shrugged it off. “ Well, we still have a little bit of time, so get dressed, maybe we’ll make it.”

“I just wanna know how you could get ANY sleep after that drive yesterday—“ Howie stopped talking as Brian pushed the door open wider, still smiling.

His four friends stared wide-eyed at Brian’s bed, where Sierra laid sleeping, a mist the tangled sheets.

“Holy shit.” AJ grinned and pulled down his glasses.

Kevin shook his head and walked back to the elevator, “Just get dressed Bri, okay?”

Nick laughed and rested his elbow on A.J.’s shoulder. “Twenty minutes before we have to leave, and you feel the need to get laid?” He smirked. “So….…..you finally got her, eh? Are you happy?”

Brian ignored his comment. “Don’t talk about her like that.” He eyed Nick bluntly. “I’ll meet y’all downstairs in 5 minutes.” Brian shut the door and walked over to the bed. He crawled on top of Sierra and gently dragged his lips across her collarbone, pleased when a tiny whimper escaped her mouth, and her eyes slowly opened.

Now resting his head in his hands, he grinned at her. “Morin’.”

His smile made her stomach do flips. “Hey.” She giggled, still light-headed at the thought of what had just happened.

“Listen,” Lifting her fingers to his lips, he kissed her knuckles one by one as he spoke. “I have to get going for a while, but I’ll be back after the show.” He paused and let his eyes consume her face. “You gonna be here when I come back?”

Her smile eased his tension. “Mmmm...I dunno Bri,” Sierra sat up and pulled a blanket around her. “Leaving me all alone in this hotel room…” She bit her lip and looked up at the ceiling for emphasis. “ I might just have to throw a big party while you’re gone.” She grinned at him.

“What?! You want me to share you with other people?…No way…that’s not happening.” Smiling uncontrollably, he tackled her on the bed.

“Ya know, the sooner you get dressed, the sooner you can leave, and…um…the sooner you can come back.” Sierra laughed and pushed him off of her.

Suddenly Brian’s face became serious. He kissed her lightly, and moved his peaceful blue eyes towards hers. His voice was gentle. “I love you Sierra.” He sat still with a hand on each of her shoulders.

Sierra’s heart began to pound in her chest. She couldn’t remember ever feeling like this before. “I love you more.”

She felt his lips on her forehead. “Not possible.”
