Chapter 6
HOWIE AS A CO-GENERAL
“You should
be shame for having that kinda problem in your job,” said
General Wright.
“He really don’t know who’d took the code, sir,” AJ try to safe Kevin.
“Don’t interrupt, AJ! Or you will be punished,” said General Wright.
“Doesn’t matter, AJ. I could handle it by myself,” said Kevin. AJ snorts.
“You didn’t
gave the code to anyone? So someone must had took the code,”
said Howie.
“May be you’re right, Howie,” said General Wright.
“But the question
is who?” said Howie. General Wright takes out a piece of
paper. It was a list of who’s coming into Kevin’s office.
“To check
this out, you need to answer me. Do you suspect anyone?” General
Wright glance at the paper, “Captain Mark,”
“But, sir,” Kevin try to protest.
“Kevin, just
answer it. If you don’t, you would probably be a betrayal,”
Howie said strictly.
“I’m
not a betrayal! I mean… I’d took my life in danger to safe this country
and now the country wants to annoy me itself? This is really legally…”
Kevin
turns to Howie.
“Kevin,” General Wright interrupts, “Captain Mark,”
Kevin glances at
Howie. Howie didn’t say a word. He looks strict that day.
Kevin snorts.
“Captain Mark
just wants to sign some documents,” Kevin knows he can't
decline.
“Brian,” General Wright keeps on.
“What…
what do you mean, Brian is just like my brother. He won't do that
thing. He won't annoy me, sir. You…” Kevin protests.
“Kevin,” Howie quickly interrupts.
Kevin turns to Howie.
“The general
is asking you one short simple question. Just answer it,” Howie
said strictly.
Kevin stares at
Howie. He can't believe that Howie could say that. He
thought his co-general would help him to protest himself but Howie seems to
be in General Wright’s side. Kevin takes a long breath and walk out. General
Wright turns to Howie.
“It doesn’t matter, general. It will be all fine,” Howie said.
AJ looks at Howie.
He can't believe Howie could take easy of Kevin’s
feelings. AJ understand how Kevin feels just now. Being reject by our own
best friend. How could Howie ever do that? AJ quickly ran to get Kevin.
Howie snorts. He knows how’s they feels but that’s a law. He can't
do
anything further more he’s a co-general. He needs to be fair.
“What should we do now, general?” ask Howie.
“I know what
should we do if we want to be aware of our country’s safety,”
said the general.
“What?”
