Chapter 25
2 Months Later
Danielle's View
It had finally come to an end. The tour ended last night in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We're all gathered at the airport seeing Colleen, Darlene, and I off. This is one of the most depressing days of my life. I don't want to leave. I'm going to miss all of the guys so much...especially Brian. Brian and I are probably the best of friends anyone could be. I have not told him how I felt and believe me, it's tearing me up inside not telling him. Him and Elizabeth are still together and are beginning to plan their wedding. I'm happy for them...well as happy as a girl can get seeing the man she loves getting married. Jason and I are still together and I'm very excited about seeing him again. There's some good news, Colleen and Nick finally are together! I swear they are the cutest couple!
"You have 15 minutes before you have to board the plan," Kevin told me. I snapped out of my thoughts and looked over at him nodding my head slowly. I looked around and found Nick and Colleen off to the side hugging, Kevin, AJ, and Howie were seated to the left of me and Brian and Elizabeth were seated to the right of me. Sophia and Darlene were off talking somewhere.
"I don't want to leave," I mumbled.
"We don't want you to leave either but it's not like we're never going to see you again," Kevin said.
"You better be coming to my wedding," Brian said sternly. I looked over at him and smiled lightly.
"You know I'll be there."
He smiled at me and took my hand.
"I'll call you all right? You call me once you get home though. I want to make sure you made it on the ground safely," he said.
"You sound like my mother," I groaned.
"I'm supposed to be looking after my litter sister!" he grinned. I smiled lightly back but wanted to frown. That's all he was ever going to think of me...a little sister and friend.
"Flight 302 to Denver, Colorado is now boarding," the intercom barked through the speakers. I sighed and got to my feet. As did all the other guys.
"I'm gonna miss you kiddo," Kevin said embracing me in a hug. I hugged him back tight and said, "I'm going to miss you too. Thank you for everything."
He pulled back and took my head in his hands kissing my forehead, "You are so very welcome. Come visit and call me whenever you want OK? You're always welcome."
"Thanks Kev," I smiled kissing his cheek. I then made my way over to Howie. He smiled at me and opened up his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tight.
"I'm gonna go insane without you to keep me sane," I laughed lightly.
"Nah, I doubt it," he said in my ear. "You're a strong girl. I'll come visit you the next time I'm in Denver all right? We can do something together."
"That'd be cool," I grinned. He kissed my cheek and smiled lightly.
"GIRLIE GIRL! I'm next! I'm next!" AJ exclaimed. I looked at him oddly and laughed lightly. He came over and picked me up swinging me around.
"I'm gonna miss you girl," he said hugging me tight.
"I'm going to miss you too," I said. "Send me some presents if you see any cool hats or something when you go shopping."
"You know I will," I grinned. He hugged me once more and ruffled my hair. I then said good-bye to Sophia and to Elizabeth. Nick and Brian were the last ones I had to say good-bye too.
"I'll see you at Brian's wedding," Nick said as he hugged me.
"Yup," I said glumly. He frowned and said in my ear, "Keep your head up. Things will turn out as you want soon enough."
"I doubt it Nick," I said. He touched my cheek and said, "I'm telling you it will."
"Brian doesn't even like me Nick," I said.
"You never know," he shrugged.
"Yeah yeah yeah," I said. He grinned at me widely and picked me up, hugging me tight.
"I'm gonna miss you. I'll keep you updated on my winnings at Nintendo," he said. I laughed lightly and said, "You do that."
"I'm gonna surprise you one of these days b stopping by your house with a bunch of video games to play!"
"Just don't scare my mother," I said.
"I would never!" he said. I smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Bye Nickerz," I said. He just smiled lightly at me. I turned around and found Brian standing a few feet away staring at me with his hands in his pockets. I walked over to him slowly.
"I guess I'm out of your hair now," I said. He looked at me and said, "Yeah thank goodness!"
I slapped his arm lightly and smiled. He then turned serious and said, "I'm really going to miss you Danielle."
I looked up into his eyes and said, "I'm going to miss you too Bri."
At that moment, everything started to hit me. I was actually leaving and I wasn't going to see these guys in a long time. A year at the most. The thought of having to leave them brought tears to my eyes. They slowly began to overflow.
"Please don't cry," Brian said softly, wrapping me into a hug.
"I don't want to leave," I said quietly.
"I'll see you soon," he said into my ear. I hugged him tightly and said, "You promise to call?"
"I promise with all my heart," he said.
"And you promise to visit?"
"I promise."
"And you promise to write me?"
He laughed lightly and said, "I promise. You know I'll will do all those things."
We stood there for a minute or so, just hugging each other. I never wanted to let go.
"Take good care of yourself and try not to get hurt," Brian said softly.
"You too," I said pulling away. I looked up into Brian's face and found tears glistening on his cheeks.
"I got you to cry," I smiled lightly.
"No, I just got something in my eye," he said wiping his tears away.
"Yeah right," I rolled my eyes.
"I love you Sis," he said suddenly. I looked up into his face and smiled lightly, "I love ya too Bro."
"Last call for flight 302 to Denver, Colorado," the intercom barked again.
"You gotta go," he said. I nodded my head and picked up my backpack.
"I'll talk to you later Bri," I said as tears started to overflow again. He nodded and hugged me once more.
"Bye Dani," he said.
"Bye Brian," I said and then started toward the terminal. I gave the lady the ticket and as she ripped it and gave it back, I looked back into the faces of the guys that I have grown to love so much. The faces of the guys that are now my best friends...who are now my family. All of them couldn't hide their emotions. I could read them perfectly. They were going miss me...miss all of us. The looks and the tears on their faces said it all.
I turned around and walked away slowly, wanting to turn around and go back. I kept moving ahead though, I didn't look back. If I did, I knew I wouldn't be able to board that plane. I finally boarded the plane and took my seat next to Darlene who had her headphones on with her eyes closed. I sat down still crying already missing them terribly. The only thing that comforted me was the thought that I was going to see them again. This wasn't the end...it was pretty much only the beginning.
