Chapter 1

"Shh.. Mommy's here...shhh." Jen spoke soothingly to her three month old son, who had just woke up for his midnight feeding. She rubbed his back and walked around the kitched of her two bedroom apartment, while the bottle was heating up on the stove. She was on her own, just her and Jayson. When her parents found out she was pregnant, they gave her the choices of getting an abortion or leaving, and she chose to leave. Jen moved in with her grandmother down in Cape Coral, Florida, until she could afford an apartment on her own. She left her parents house in New York almost a year ago, and has made a few close friends.

"Shhh... Thats a boy." She whispered when Jayson had taken the bottle in his mouth and started eating. Jen made her wasy to her bedroom to lay back down in her bed to watch T.V. She flipped through the channels to find only paid programings on. Jen sighed and switched it off and just watched Jayson, now sleeping in her arms. "You look so much like your daddy." She whispered, brushing her hand across his cheek. Jen stood up and slowly walked into the nursery and placed the baby in his crib. She kissed her fingers and placed them on his forehead before heading back to bed.

"Lets see... what shall we out on you Little Man?" Jen said looking through her son's clothes. "You have more clothes than anyone in this world Kiddo. Grandma spoils you too much." She said giggling. Jen pulled out a jean overall short outfit and a gray Nike tshirt. They were on their way to Orlando to meet her best friend Julie who recently moved there. "We're gonna see Aunt Julie, and go to the mall, and spend a couple of days with her." She spoke while changing Jayson's diapiar and getting him dressed. Once he was dressed and ready, Jen placed him in his carry-carseat and dressed herself, then packed clothes and other things for her and Jay.

"Okay my little Chunker Butt, you ready?" She picked up the carseat and threw the nightbags over her shoulder, and walked outside to her car. Placing the carseat in the front seat and the bags in the back, she sat down in the driver's side, started the car, and was on her way to Orlando.

"Orlando... next exit." Jen read outloud as she past a roadsign. She looked at her sleeping baby laying next to her and smiled to herself. "Ya know Jay, I hope you don't hate me for having you at 19, but you are the best thing thats ever happened to me." She smiled again when Jayson made a little grunting noise, and turned on the radio.

"And that was the new one from the Backstreet Boys called 'Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely'."

"Oh Man! I like that song!" Jen said to herself as she pressed play on her CD player to listen to it. She drove the rest of the way to Julie's house listening to her Millennium CD.

As Jen pulled up onto Julie's driveway, she beeped the horn. Julie opened the front door and ran to the car. Jen opened her cardoor and was embraced by her over excited best friend.

"Woah, easy Killah." She announced returning the hug with a giggle.

"Hows my favorite Godson?" Julie asked while walking over to the passenger's side and unbuckled Jayson out of his carseat. "Wake up Little Buddy." She said while playing with him. Jen walked over to where her best friend was standing with her son.

"He got so big Jen!!"

"Yea I know. Tell me about it!" She replied with a laugh. Both the girls stood outside by the car for a couple of minutes just talking about how big the baby had gotten since the last time they saw each other.

"Well, come on. Lets go inside. Mom was so excited when I told her you and Jayson were coming for the weekend." They giggled. Jen grabbed the bags while Julie had Jayson, and they walked inside.

"Ma! Jen's here!!" Julie yelled to her mother when they were inside.

"Hi Mommy!" She said coming out of the kitchen with a dishtowel over her shoulder. Jen smiled.

"Hey Mrs. Morgan." She replied giving her a hug.

"Ooo... look at this little guy!" She said while taking the baby out of her daughter's arms. "Hey you!" She spoke holding Jayson above her head.

"Watch out, he might sp-" Jayson spit up all over her shoulder. "Spit up." Jen finished. The three of them just laughed as Mrs. Morgan wiped it up with the dishtowel.

"Oh thats okay," Mrs. Morgan replied with a chuckle, "whats a little spit up gonna do?" They sat down and talked for a couple of minutes. "Why don't I watch Jayson and you girls go unpack and catch up on some things?" Mrs. Morgan suggested.

"Thanks." Jen answered, then followed Julie's lead up the stairs. Once upstairs, Julie and Jen started talking about what has been happening and whatever came to mind.

"So, Jules, any boyfriends?" Jen asked while elbowing her in the arm while folding some clothes.

"Nope, I really haven't gone anywhere to even meet a guy. Thats why I want to go to the mall....to go hottie shopping." They both laughed. "You?"

Jen looked down at her fingers, and her smile disappeared. "No. No one wants a girl with a baby, but," Jen looked back up smiling again, "I am happy with the way things are right now. I'm still getting to know Jay, and he's still getting to know me."

"Aww Jen! I'm telling you. There is a guy out there who will love you both. Whether its now, or in a few months, you'll find him. I promise." Julie reassured.

"Thanks Jules. You always know how to make me feel better."

"Hey, thats what friends are for." THey both smiled at each other. "Come on, lets go to the mall."

"Sounds good to me. I need to buy a new bathing suit." The girls ran down the stairs to where Mrs. Morgan was playing with Jayson.

"There she is! Mommy's back." She said in a happy voice, then turned to Jen and Julie. " Girls, I need to do some errands. I'll be back later. You eating dinner with us?" Mrs. Morgan asked handing the baby back to Jen.

"Na, we're gonna go out to the mall, then we'll eat out." Julie said while grabbing her purse.

"Okay, have fun." Jen and Julie walked out the front door, buckled Jayson in and headed to the mall.

"Uh-oh. Someone's hungary. Right Munchkin?" Jen said while taking the carseat which held a crying Jayson, out of her car and hooking it onto the matching stroller. "When we get inside, can we sit down for a few so that I can feed him?" Julie nodded.

They entered the mall and walked towards the food court so they could sit down, feed the baby, and have a drink. Julie had volunteered to go buy the sodas while Jen fed Jayson. While Julie was gone, Jen kept hearind screaming.

"Do you hear screaming?" Julie asked sitting down at the table with two cokes.

"Yea....I thought that it was just me." Both girls looked around to see where it was coming from. "Well, theres a group of girls over there." Jen pointed out.

"Oh, let me check it out." Julie walked over to the crowd to see what was going on.

"What?" Jen asked laughing at the shocked face Jule had on.

"Guess who is over there!"

"Let me guess.... I dunno."

"The Backstreet Boys."

"No way." Jen answered not believing her. When she looked up, she mad eye contact with the blonde one. He smiled.

"What happened? Why are you blushing? Jen!!!" Julie asked excitedly.

"Nick smiled at me..." Both girls laughed somewhat loud, which caused a sleeping Jayson to wake up crying. "Shit." Jen said laughing, while switching positions so that Jayon's head was now resting on her shoulder, he fell back asleep. "Oh my god Julie." SHe said almost in a whisper.

"What?" She asked confused.

"He's coming over here...."

"No way!!"

"Shhh..." Jen said.

"Hello Ladies..." Nick said smiling at Jen.

"Hi." They both said in unison.

"How are you?" He asked.

"I'm good, yourself?" Jen answered.

"I'm fine."

"oh.. thats good." Jen replied.

"Jen...five me him. I'll walk around for a little while and you guys can talk or whatever." Julie announced.

"Thanks Jules." She replied handing Jayson over to Hulie, and watched as she walked away. "Sit down.." Jen offered.

"Thanks, so I noticed you from over there," he started pointing to where the rest of the guys were being mobbed, "and I had to get to know you.." He ended blushing.

"Awww.. thats sweet." Jen replied blushing.

"Yea... well, I'm Nick.." He said holding out his hand.

"Jen." She replied shaking Nick's hand.

"So, Jen, how old are you?"

"I'm 19..what about you?"

"20.." He answered smiling. "You from around here?"

"Actually, I'm from Cape Coral..I'm visiting my friend for the weekend."

"Thats cool." Jen and Nick talked for another half an hour or so until Julie came over to the table they were sitting at with Jayson crying. When Jen heard a baby crying, she looked around to see Julie coming towards her trying to calm Jayson down.

"Someone wants their mommy." Julie stated handing over the baby. Jen took him from Julie's arms and patted his back, and tried to give him his pacifire, which he wouldn't take.

"You're a mother?" Nick asked surprised.(But in a nice way)

"Yea.." Jen replied knowing that he'd make an excuse and say he had to go or something, to try to get away..

"Aww.. whats his name? Can I hold him?" Nick asked.

"Uhh..sure.. his name is Jayson." She replied. When Jayson was in Nick's arms, she looked at them both. Jasyson had stopped crying adn was studying this new person.

"Hey Little Buddy" Nick said while playing with him. Jen said back and watched how good Nick was with her son.

'He needs someone like this in his life..' Jen thought as a tear ran down her cheek. Nick looked up and smiled.

"Does he have a father?" he asked.

Jen cleared her throat, " No, he left me when I was pregnant."

"I'm sorry." Nick replied.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, I gotta get going...I have a show tonight.." He said. Nick turned to Jen," Do you want to get together or have dinner one night?" He asked handing the baby back to his mother.

"Sure, that'd be great." She said taking a out a pen and a piece of paper out of her bag, then asked Nick to scribble down her number.

"Thanks." Nick said reading the paper he had just written the numbers on. "I'll call you on Monday. He smiled.

"Sounds great." Jen smiled.

"Alright.. catch ya later." He replied smiling then walking away to meet the other guys.

"Jen!! I told you!" Julie excitedly said once Nick was gone.

"Told me what?" She asked smiling, knowing what she was talking about.

"That someone would love you both!!"

"Oh my god Julie!!! I think i'm on cloud nine. Did you see the way he smiled?? AHH! It was to die for!" Jen replied.

They walked to different stores and Jen tried on bathing suits. "How's this one?" She said coming out of the dressing room with a red plaid 2 peice bikini on.

"Wow! Jen you look great! You would never be able to tell you had a baby three months ago!"

"Really?" Julie nodded. Jen changed, bought the bathing suit, and then they went to dinner.

Jen had just finished getting Jayson back to sleep, after he woke up. It was 3:30am and she couldn't go back to sleep. She layed on her bed, and thought. She couldn't stop thinking about Nick. The way he smiled, the way he talked, the way he was with Jayson. She hasn't had feelings for anyone since Jim... but when he flipped when Jen told him she was pregnant..with his child, her feelings completely changed. She felt something different towards Nick, but she couldn't figure it out... everytime she though about him, it sent chills up and down her spine.
