Chapter 21
Jen came into the bathroom in their bedroom, where Nick was taking a shower. Opening up the shower door, she saw Nick washing his body.
"It's time."
"Huh?" He asked, not knowing what she said.
"It's time!"
"What?" He asked again clearing the water out of his ear with his finger.
"We're going to have a baby."
"Right this second?" Nick asked. Jen nodded. Nick jumped out of the shower and hurried to put clothes on. "Did you get anyone to watch Jay?" He yelled down the stairs.
"Yea, Jaquie (next door neighbor) is coming." She yelled back, inbetween breaths.

"Come on Jen. One last push and you'll have a baby." Dr. Jenkins announced.
Jen looked at Nick, then took a deep breath and gave it her all.
"Ahh." She screamed as she felt the baby being pulled out.
"It's a girl." Jen and Nick looked at each other, both crying. The doctor layed the baby on her chest.
"I love you." He said hugging and kissing her, then his daughter. "You did great." Jen laughed to herself.
"We did, didn't we?"
"Would you
like to cut the cord, Nick?" He nodded and took the scissors out of the
doctor's hands and cut it, then watched as Jen bonded with their baby.

"Hey Jay!"
"Hi Mommy. Where my new sister?"
"Right here, baby." Jen answered holding the baby in her arms. "This is your sister Cayleigh."
"<gasp> Hi Caweigh. I'm your BIG brother Jayson." He said kissing his sister's forehead. He sounded so proud to be called the big brother.
The four of them spent the afternoon in the hospital room talking to each other and telling Jay stories of when he was a baby.

"Cayleigh Jane Carter. April 28th. 7lbs. 5oz. 19 1/2 inches long." Jen read. "Looks great, Honey." On the front lawn was an announcement with a plaque of the birth.
"Yea it does. Come on, let's get inside." Nick said bringing the carseat into the house and placing it on the living room center table. Jen followed him and sat down where her husband was sitting on the couch.
"Well, Mr. Carter... Looks like we're adding to our family." She said lying her head on his shoulder. She looked back up and smiled at him and vice versa.
"Thankyou. I love you so much." Nick announced kissing her forehead.
"Daddy, I want to hold her." Jay said running over to where his parents were.
"Okay there buddy. Sit on the couch and put your arms like we practiced." Nick said getting up and taking his baby daughter out of her carseat.. then helped Jayson hold her.
"Hold on! I need to get the camera." Jen threw her hands up in the air and got up to retrieve it. "Smile JayJay."
"Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!!" He said smiling really big, showing his teeth, and acting so happy that he had a sibling.
"Arlight Guys," Jen yawned, "I'm gonna go rest for a little while." She stood up and threw a burp rag over her shoulder and took the baby out of her son's arms.
"Okay." Nick answered kissing her and then Cayleigh's head. "I'm gonna take Jay out to spend time with him. Ya know, so he doesn't feel left out."
"Alright, have fun, You." She said kissing Jay on the forehead, then headed up the stairs to the bedroom.

*A few weeks later*
"G'night, Love you."
"Love you too Mommy." Jay yawned. Jen turned out the lights and closed the door behind her.
"Sleeping?" Nick asked looking up from his laptop. Jen layed down on next to him on their bed.
"Eh, he's falling asleep. What are you doing?" She asked leaning her head on his arm and looking toward the screen.
"Just looking threw some files Kev sent me of the contract for the group.. Just skimming through it.. It's a shame that we had to end it... But, it was time."
"It's okay. I'm sure all the guys wanted to settle down and spend time with their families. It was just time to end it."
"Yep." He closed the computer and looked at his wife. This was one of the first times they were together in a while. One was usually occupying Jayson, and the other was usually taking care of the baby. Nick slid down in the sheets and held Jen in his arms.
