Chapter 4
Brian's View
I hopped out of my jeep and headed up the driveway. It was 6:56PM and I was picking Tiffany up for our date. I was planning to take her to a pretty nice restaurant and then go see a movie of her choice. As I walked up to the door I heard some screaming from inside. It sounded like Angel but I wasn't sure. I stood there for a couple seconds thinking about when was the perfect time to ask her out. I figured I would know when to ask her at the right time so I just rang the doorbell.
Aaron's View
I was in a middle of a game of Solitaire when I heard the doorbell ring. I got up figuring no one else would answer it. I opened the door to find Brian. Well I think it was him. He sure was dressed up nice.
"Hey Aaron!" Brian greeted me.
I looked him up and down and started cracking up.
"What?" Brian asked confused.
"What's up with the outfit!?!" I yelled at him trying to catch my breath.
"I'm going on a date with Tiffany. You do know what a date is right?" he asked raising his eyebrow at me.
"Duh Brian! I'm not as dumb as you think! But that's just nasty! Why would you go out with Tiffany? She's a girl!" I said while scrunching up my nose.
"Well Tiffany is a beautiful girl and I want to date her. Trust me buddy you'll start liking girls sooner or later. You're jut not a man yet," Brian explained while shaking his head.
"First of all I will never like girls and second of all I AM A MAN! I'M A MANLY MAN!" I said while showy off my biceps.
"Whatever Aaron. Think what you want. If you say you're a man you're a man but all men have a girlfriend or at least have a girl in mind," he told me.
"So Nick and AJ aren't men?" I asked.
"Yes they are I'm sure they have a girl in mind. Anyway can I come in?" he questioned.
"Oh Yeah," I said while moving out of the way.
"Thanks," he said while walking in, "Where's Nick?" he asked as I closed the door.
"I think the living room," I said.
"OK see ya later buddy," he said while walking into the living room.
Finally I can get back to my game of Solitaire.
Nick's View
I was playing N64 when a pillow hit my head. I turned around to expect Aaron but I saw Brian looking at me innocently behind the couch.
"Why the hell did you do that!" I yelled at him for wrecking my concentration.
"Do what?" he asked as if he didn't know.
"Why did you throw that pillow at me!?" I yelled.
"Well you wouldn't answer me so I took desperate measures. Just chill dude! You're going have a heart attack if you don't calm down," he said teasing.
"Yeah but I was winning! Just forget it. So why are you here?" I said trying to sound like I didn't know.
"I'm here to pick up Tiffany for our date."
"Ah how could I forget? So where are you taking her?"
He walked over and sat down next to me on the couch.
"Well I'm going to take her to a nice restaurant and then go to the movies and maybe the beach. Do you think she'll like that because I want to make this a perfect night."
"Yeah I'll think she'll like it. What are you going to do at the beach?"
"Well," he said while taking a box out of his jacket and lowering his voice, "We're going to walk for a while and then I'm going to get on one of my knees and ask her to be my girlfriend with this," he said while opening the box to reveal a ring. He took it out and gave it to me. It had a 24karot gold band with diamonds in the shape of a heart and inside of it was Brian's birthstone and hers. On the inside of the band there was an inscription. It said, "Tiffany and Brian forever, Love Brian."
I looked at him in shock. It was the same exact design as the necklace I gave her but it had his birthstone and not mine and it had a different inscription on it. I looked back down at it just staring. I didn't know what to say.
"So is that a good plan?"
I looked at him and saw how happy he was. It made me sick. First he takes the girl I love and then he has the right to get something that was almost the same thing that I got for her. Tiffany was supposed to be my girlfriend but she's going to be someone else's. I just wanted to punch him right then and there but I knew Tiffany wouldn't like that so I just replied, "Yeah it sounds like a great plan."
"Great!" he said while taking the ring back, putting it in the box, and then replacing it back in his jacket. He then looked over at the clock and then turned back to me.
"It's 7:13," he told me.
"Your point being?" I asked.
"I was suppose to pick Tiffany up by 7:00.".
"And?"
"Nick you're getting on my nerves. Can you please ask Tiffany if she's ready? Our reservations are at 7:30 and it takes 20 minutes to get there."
"Yeah, Yeah. Keep your pants on," I mumbled. I then got up and headed toward Tiffany's room. I reached her room and knocked.
"What is it?" I heard.
"Um Tiffany? Brian's here and he wants to know if you're ready."
"Tell him I'll be down in a second. I just need to make a few final touches," I heard her reply.
"OK," I said while going back downstairs.
When I got back downstairs I found that Brian wasn't there.
Just then Brian came through the front door carrying a dozen red roses.
"What were you doing?" I said looking at him oddly.
"I forgot to get the roses out of the car," he said trying to catch his breath. It looked like he just got done running a marathon.
"Well Tiffany isn't ready so calm down," I told him.
"Great I ran for no apparent reason?" he said.
"Yep! It looks like it," I told him.
"So she'll be down soon?"
"Yeah she's 'just making a few final touches' with her outfit," I said mimicking Tiffany.
"Have you noticed girls take forever to get ready and it only takes guys like 5 minutes?" Brian asked me.
"Oh yeah! Tiffany takes forever to get ready. She's been in her room since 5."
"Jeez! She's bound to look pretty damn hot if she's been up there that long but I don't think she can get any hotter."
Right before I could say anything my eyes went to the stairs where the most beautiful girl stood. My eyes bugged out of my head and my mouth dropped to the floor.
"Wow!" I said under my breath.
"What? What is it?" Brian asked curious while turning around to see what I was gawking at.
