Chapter 26
Brian's View
I just sat by the bed looking at Tiffany sleep. It is 8:49 right now and I've been up watching her since eight. All I could think about was why she got drunk. It has to be something I did. Nick even said that she had never drunken before. Maybe he was right. I was ignoring her and she felt deserted. I'll just make it up to her by getting her something nice at the mall. No wait! I know what I can do! I still have the engagment ring. I'll just take her out tonight and propose to her somewhere special. That will have to cheer her up!
Tiffany then started to stir and moan. I kissed her lips lightly and her eyes fluttered open. She looked at me and slightly smiled but then made a disgusted look and grabbed her head.
"My head hurts," she mumbled.
"Could it be because you had 16 beers last night?" I said sarcastically sitting next to her on the bed.
"I what!?"
"You got drunk and Nick took you back to the hotel."
"I can't believe I got drunk! I've never done anything like that before!"
"Why did you do it?"
"I I don't know," she lied. I could tell she was lying by the way she said it.
"Don't lie to me Tiffany. Our relationship won't work if you won't be truthful."
"I know but " she stopped and grabbed her stomach and her mouth. She jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom and slammed the door. I got up and rushed after her. I opened the door and Tiffany was hunched over throwing up. I walked over and bent down next to her holding her hair out of her face. She slowly lifted her head and wiped her mouth.
"I'm guessing your not going to be going shopping today?"
She just shook her head no.
"OK," I said helping her up and leading her to the bed. She got in the covers and closed her eyes.
"Do you think you'll feel better tonight?"
She opened her eyes and looked at me, "Why?"
"Because I have a surprise for you and I want to know if you'll be up to it."
"We'll see," she said quietly.
"OK, I got to go and I would stay with you but we're going to be busy today. I'm leaving my cell phone just in case you go somewhere so I can reach you. Just call one of the other guys' phones if you need something. I'll be back at maybe 6 or 7. I love you and start to feel better," I said as I kissed her cheek.
"Love ya too," she said falling asleep.
I kissed her forehead and left the room.
Tiffany's View
2 Hours Later
I opened my eyes to a phone ringing. I looked over at the hotel phone but the red light wasn't blinking. I got out of bed and slowly walked over to the table in front of the TV. I picked up the cellular phone and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Miss Brown?"
"Yes?"
"Hi I'm calling for your results."
"What results?"
"Your pregnancy results."
My heart then started to race, "Oh yeah so what are they?"
"I would like to congratulate you! You're one month pregnant!"
"T Thanks," I said turning off the phone and setting it down. I slowly raised my hand up to my mouth and started to cry. What am I going to do!? What are my parents going to say!? They always told me to wait until I was married and they trusted me and what about Brian!? He can't have this right now! He's still too young and the Backstreet Boys are finally at the top and I would just be getting in the way and be a huge burden on him! He doesn't need this right now. I'll just have to go home. I don't want to leave him because I love him so much but this will be best for the both of us.
I got up and started to pack. I just called the airport and I should be going back to Denver at 2:15. That would give me a couple of hours. I finished packing and set them by the door. I went over to the desk by the TV and grabbed a sheet of paper and a pen and sat down begining to write a letter to Brian:
Dear Brian,
I'm on a plane right now or I'm back in Denver by the time you read this. I don't want to hurt you but this is just better for the both of us. Maybe we should have never gone out but the times we spent together are going to stay in my memory always. I can't tell you why I left but all I can say is that you were part of it. I don't hate you and you didn't do anything wrong. We were just not careful. Just always remember that I love you no matter what and I will miss you with all my heart. Say good bye to the guys for me and tell them I will miss them. I don't even know if I will stay in touch with Nick. I'm just afraid of what's happening. I don't want to leave but I have to. I hope I didn't hurt you too much because I can't bear to now that you're hurting. I love you and have a wonderful life and try to forget about me and move on. Good bye Brian.
Your princess,
Tiffany
Tears were dripping on the paper and smudging the ink. I whipped the tears away, folded the paper, and then I set it on the bed. Just then there was a knock at the door. It must be the bellhop. I looked around the room one more time and then opened the door. The guy took the bags and went downstairs to the lobby where my cab was waiting to bring me to the airport. I followed and hopped in the cab. The cab driver took off and all I could think about was Brian and what I was leaving behind.
Brian's View
It's 6:25 and the guys and I just got back from the mall. I was walking down the hall whistling holding a new stuffed animal for Tiffany. She collects any type of stuffed animal and I know how much she loves basset hounds and when I saw this stuffed animal I knew I had to get it for her. I opened the door and entered a dark room.
"Tiffany?" I said switching on the light and walking around the room trying to find her.
"Baby where are you?" I said getting worried. All her bags were gone and the phone was still on the table. I sat down on the bed and set the stuffed basset hound next to me. I looked around trying to think about where she could be. I then saw a piece of paper in the corner of my eye. I looked next to me and found a piece of paper with the name baby duck written across the front in Tiffany's hand writing. I picked it up and opened it. I read silently with tears filling my eyes. Tears stains were all over the paper so I know she was crying when she wrote it. I set it down when I was done with tears streaming rapidly down my face.
"She left me," I whispered to myself. I looked down and saw that the basset hound had fallen on the floor and was now looking at me. I kicked it and it flew in the air hitting a lap on the other side of the room. The lamp fell and broke. I put my face in my hands and sunk down on the floor sobbing uncontrollably.
