Prologue
Tiffany's View
I walked down stairs with Michelle's hairbrush. I forgot to brush her hair and we were running late to a movie that she wanted to see. It's a Disney movie and I think you know it. It's Cinderella. I know it's been out for a long time but the movie people thought that people would like to see it on the big screen again so that's what they did. It's Michelle's favorite movie. We watch it all the time. I figured she would like to see it on the big screen.
Maybe I should tell you who Michelle is. She's my daughter and she's 2 and a half years old. If you remember I was pregnant with Brian's child and it turned out to be a girl. I was happy because I could play with her hair and dress her up in dresses and cute little shoes. I figured having a boy would make me think of Brian. I thought he would look too much like him but Michelle got some of her daddy's looks anyway. Her eyes are blue and she has the same color hair and her smile is so much like his. She even has a pretty good sense of humor.
I'm on my own now of course. I'm 22 and I have my own house. I never told Brian that he was the father so my parents kicked me out. We're still really close though. I visit them almost everyday since they love their second grand child. My brother Tim had a son a year after I left Brian. He's so adorable and he acts totally like Tim. Anyway I think of Brian all the time. I still cry at night and I can't help but talk about him with my friends. His name always seems to come out of my mouth.
The Backstreet Boys have their fifth album out and it has gone platinum again just like the last one and the one before that and so on. Nick occasionally calls my brothers or my sister and even my parents. He doesn't call me though. I guess all the guys hate me for what I did. I just hope Brian found someone to love him as much as I did. I really want him to be happy. I even heard that he was getting married. It's a rumor but I can't help but believe it. I mean I love him so much and I know that he hates me and that he's moving on. I even have pictures of him and his girlfriend. Well it's supposed to be his girlfriend. It's that one girl that I so called met at the club that one night I got drunk from 16 beers. I think her name was Sara. Yeah that's it! Sara was Brian's ex and still friend but then on the other hand I saw recent pictures of him and Leighanne. I really have no clue as to what's going in his life.
I picked Michelle up from where she was coloring on a piece of paper and I set her on my lap. I combed her hair and put her hair up in pigtails. She was wearing a green dress with white Keds. I'm wearing some flare jeans and a pink tank top. My hair, which is now down to the middle of my back, is up in a messy bun.
I set her down and she ran over to her picture. She picked it up and started to jump up and down saying, "Daddy daddy!"
"Daddy? Did you draw a picture of daddy?" I said as I walked over to her. She shook her head vigorously. I took it and looked at it. It had a green scribble mark and a red scribble mark on it. I may remind you that she is only 2 years old.
"This is beautiful sweetie! Who's this right here?" I said pointing to the red spot.
"You!" she said.
"And who is this?"
"Daddy!"
"This is simply beautiful. I'm going to go put it on the fridge with all your other pictures," I said walking into the kitchen and putting the picture on the refrigerator.
I guess you figured out that I told Michelle about Brian. I wanted her to know about her dad and where he is. She sees him all the time on MTV and that's about it. She really wants to meet him and the other guys. She calls them daddy of course and then Uncle Icky, Uncle J, Uncle Owie and Uncle Kewy. I know their funny names but I like them.
I came back to the living room and picked Michelle up and my purse and went out the house. I locked the door and went to my mustang and put her in her car seat in the back. I got in and put the radio on. Michelle started to screech and giggle. She loves music.
"Ready to go see Cinderella!"
"See Rella!"
"OK let's go!" I said pulling out of the driveway and heading to the movie theater.
