Chapter 1
Brian's View
The guys and I are at the movies waiting in line to see a new Jim Carry movie that just got out. We were on a few months vacation and we decided to come to Colorado to relax and ski a little bit. It's been 3 years since I saw Tiffany at the park and when she told me the whole truth. I cry every night about what she said. She hurt me so bad and I don't see how anyone could be that mean. I still don't now if I love her or not. I want to love her but I just don't see how too.
We just got our tickets and we were getting some snacks when something ran into my leg. I looked down and found a little girl around three on her butt giggling.
"Hi there! Are you OK?" I said picking her up.
"Michelle! Where did you go?!" I heard a girl say over the crowd of people. I look up and the girl looked so familiar. She spotted us and she came over quickly. As she came closer I finally realized who it was. It was TIFFANY!
"I'm sorry sir. She just runs off when ever she pleases," she said taking her from my arms.
"It's OK," I said trying to smile.
"I'm sorry if this is rude but I just want to know why you have sunglasses on?"
"I have a eye disorder," I lied.
She looked at me weird and then she started to study my face. She seemed to notice that I looked familiar. I then decided to say something.
"So you must be Michelle!"
"Yep!"
"Your very pretty!"
"Thank you!"
"Can you guess my name?"
She looked at me hard and then her face brightened up.
"DADDY!"
Tiffany looked at me and then her eyes got wide eyed.
"Daddy?"
"DADDY DADDY! MOMMY IT'S DADDY!" Michelle said jumping up and down. Tiffany covered her mouth and walked off as fast as she could. I took my glasses and hat off and walked after her. I had to know why Michelle was calling me daddy.
"Bri! Bri where are you going!" Nick yelled at the counter. He had tons of food in his hands.
"I saw Tiffany!" I said looking at him and then looking through the crowd again. I couldn't find her anywhere. I then looked at the door and I saw her push it open and go out. Nick ran up to me and the other guys followed.
"What did you just say!?" Nick asked.
"I saw Tiffany and she has a daughter," I said with tears forming in my eyes.
"You're kidding!" Kevin said looking in the crowd.
"Maybe you're seeing things! I thought you were moving on. Do I need to remind you that you have a girlfriend and that would be Sara?"
"I know that but her daughter, Michelle, said that I was her daddy and then Tiffany ran off. She didn't know who I was until she said daddy."
"Oh My God! This can't be happening!" AJ said with a shocked face.
"Nick you know where he lives right?"
"Of course I do!"
"Take me there right now!" I said walking to the doors.
"But I thought you hated her!"
"I don't know what I think!"
"What are you talking about!?"
"I don't know if I love her still! Now will you come on!"
"Sara's not going to like this," AJ said following me to the rental car.
"This is it right here," Nick said pointing to a house to the right.
I got out of the car and walked up to the door. It was freezing outside and there was snow all over the place. I motioned for Nick to hurry up and then rang the doorbell. A woman around her mid forties answered the door.
"Hello Mrs. Brown," Nick said stepping in front of me.
"Nicholas! It's so good to see you! Are Alexander, Howard, and Kevin here?"
"Yeah they are," he said moving out of the way. All the other guys stepped in front of me and gave her a hug. I was the only one left. She looked at me and smiled.
"You must be Brian. I've heard a lot about you from Tiffany," she said opening her arms for a hug.
"Yeah that's me," I said hugging her and following the rest of the guys to the living room. I sat on the couch next to Nick who was eating M&M's from a bowl in front of him. AJ was sitting next to him, Howie was on love seat, and Kevin was sitting in a chair. Mrs. Brown sat next to Howie.
"So what can I do for all of you?" she asked.
"I was wondering if I could talk to Tiffany," I said.
"That's not possible."
"Why not?"
"She doesn't live here any more. She got her own place with her daughter a couple of years ago."
"Can you give us the address?" Howie asked.
"I don't know if she wants me to."
"Please! For me!" Nick said giving her a puppy dog look.
"Nick you look ridiculous. Don't do that," Kevin scolded.
"It's all right Kevin! That face gets me every time! Her address is 39761 S. Utah St."
"Thank you so much!" I said standing up.
"No thank you! Can I just suggest something?"
"Go ahead," I said.
"Don't be to harsh on her. She's been through a lot."
"I'll try," said giving her a hug and then heading out to the car.
The guys followed and we all got in the car. We started off to Tiffany's house and all I could think about was what if Michelle is my daughter?
