Chapter 3
Brian's View
"You…you want to kiss me?" she said looking at me nervously.
"Yeah if it's OK with you."
"Umm I…I…" she said looking at my lips and then back at my eyes. I stopped her by pressing my lips onto hers. I put my hand on her cheek and stroked it gently. She kissed back but then stopped.
I pulled back and asked, "What?"
"You have a girlfriend and this doesn't feel right."
"What do you mean by that? I know I have a girlfriend and I don't care but why doesn't this feel right?"
"It just doesn't OK. I can't really explain it. I just feel uncomfortable."
"How can you feel uncomfortable in the presence of someone the you love?"
"How do you know I still love you?'
"Don't you? I thought you said…"
"I didn't say anything about loving you. For all you know I could hate your guts but I don't. I just think it's wrong that you're cheating on your girlfriend. I thought you weren't like that?"
"I'm not like that at all. I even told you that our relationship isn't going well."
"That doesn't mean anything. Look why are we fighting?'
"I don't know. Look Tiffany I want to spend more time with you and Michelle."
"How are you going to do that. There's no way…"
"Yes there is! The guys and I are going up to the mountains to go skiing and that would be the perfect place for me to spend time with you and Michelle."
"Is your girlfriend coming?"
"Umm yeah but she's probably going to spend most of her time with all the other girlfriends."
"The guys got girlfriends!"
"Yeah a few of them do."
"Does Nick have a girlfriend?'
"Uh no"
"Has he had one ever since I left?"
"No," I said quietly.
"Oh my gosh! Poor Nick! He's 22 and he hasn't had a girlfriend!?"
"Yeah but he's OK with it."
"How can he be? Do you think he still loves me?"
"Who knows? All I know is that he has tons of pictures of you and he looks at them all the time."
"He does?"
"Yeah but don't tell him I said anything. So will you come?'
"I guess if you really want me to."
"Yes! I want you to come!"
"Ok then I'll come but if your girlfriend does anything to Michelle I'll kick her ass."
"I'll do that for you. I don't want any one hurting my baby."
"Your so sweet."
"I know," I said smiling at her.
Just then the doorbell rang. We heard little feet run to the door. I laughed at the thought of Michelle running to the door and opening it.
"Uncle Icky!" we heard. Tiffany looked at me nervously.
"I'll go get him," I said getting up and walking to the door. Nick had Michelle in his arms and he was laughing. He looked at me and smiled, "She called me Uncle Icky!"
"I know Tiffany told her about all of us and she calls us all uncle accept me. She calls me daddy," I said taking Michelle out of his arms.
"Daddy!" she said hugging me. I just laughed.
Nick looked at me wide eyed, "She's your daughter?"
"Yeah," I smiled.
Nick turned around and waved to the car. Everyone jumped out and ran over.
"Guess what guys?" Nick said excited.
"What?" AJ asked.
"Michelle's Brian's daughter!"
"Who's Michelle?" Howie asked.
"She's right here," I said stepping out of the door.
"Uncle J!" she said opening her arms to AJ.
"She knows my name!" AJ said taking her from my arms. I went back in the house and the rest followed.
"J is not your name dumbass," Nick said rolling his eyes.
I whacked him upside his head and said sternly, "Don't curse in front of my daughter!"
"Oops sorry!"
"Congrats on the daughter man," Kevin said patting me on the shoulder. A chorus of 'yeah congratulations' was heard.
"Hi uncle Owie, Kewy," Michelle said waving to them.
"Hi Michelle!" Kevin said taking her from AJ's arms.
"Yeah hi Michelle!" Howie said shacking her little hand.
"Anyway guys don't yell at Tiffany. She told me everything that has happened. She said that all those things that she said at the park were all lies and that Michelle is my daughter. She said she left because she didn't want to be a big burden on all of us and that I might have broken up with her. We made up and I kind of invited her to the mountains with us. Is that OK?"
"Yeah but what is Sara gonna say?" Howie asked. He now had Michelle in his arms.
"I don't care what she says. I'm planning on breaking up with her soon. It's just not working out."
"Yes!" All the guys said.
"Why did you do that?"
"Um because we never liked Sara and we wanted you to break up with her," AJ said.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Hi guys," Tiffany said behind us. I turned around and smiled. I motioned for her to come closer and she did as I said.
"Hi," all the guys said.
"Hi so how are you?" Nick asked smiling at her. He had so much love in his eyes.
"I'm doing pretty good how about you guys?"
"Good! Michelle's beautiful," Howie said smiling at her also.
"Thank you! She gets most of her looks form her daddy," she said looking at me. I smiled back at her.
"I hear your coming with us to the mountains," Kevin said.
"Yeah Brian wants to spend more time with Michelle and I."
"That's good," AJ said nodding his head.
"I hear you guys got girlfriends."
"Yeah Howie, Kevin and I have a girlfriend and so does Brian. We're not that serious though."
"What's there names?"
"AJ's girlfriend is Amanda, Howie's girlfriend is Stacey, Brian's girlfriend is Sara, and Kevin's girlfriend is Mary and I'm single," Nick said.
Tiffany's View
"Why don't you have a girlfriend Nick?" I asked.
"I'm just not ready for a relationship yet that's all."
I looked at him weird. How can he not be ready for a relationship? He's 22!
"Anyway why don't we do something. We don't leave until tomorrow," Kevin said.
"If we're leaving tomorrow then I have to pack my things and Michelle's. Can you guys watch her for me?"
"Sure! We would love to! I want to get to know my little niece!" Kevin said happily. All the other guys agreed.
"OK take her in the play room down the hall. It's the room at the very end to your right."
"OK!" Nick said walking down the hall. The other guys followed but Brian stayed behind.
"Aren't you going to go watch her?"
"I want to stay and help you if it's OK?"
"Yeah it's fine. C'mon," I said walking up the stairs to my room. I'm so happy that Brian and I are friends. I can't wait to go to the mountains with all the guys. The only thing that's bugging me is Sara.
