Prologue
I sat shaking in AJ's arms. It was the middle of the night. I had woken up horrendously scared for some strange reason. As I quivered in his arms I spoke through my tears.
"Why? I'm happier than I've been in a long time." I choked back a sob. "My relationship with Nick is wonderful, I mean it's been a year and we're more in love than ever." I started shaking harder.
"Shh…. Princess, just settle down…do you want me to call Nick?" AJ asked softly.
"No, don't…he needs his sleep…. He's been coming over every night for over a week for this exact reason, he needs his sleep." I said sniffling.
"Princess, he doesn't mind. If our scared and you need him, he'll come, he loves you."
"I know he does…could you just hold me tonight?" I asked my body's demand to sleep almost taking over.
"Of course I will." He said softly taking me into his arms and stroking my hair. "You just sleep, we'll call Nick first thing tomorrow okay?"
"Yeah…okay" I said, my eyes slowly shutting.
"Just sleep princess." He said slowly rocking me to sleep.
