Chapter 2 - How Can I Lose You Like This?
It had been 5 minutes since Crystal had left the table. Nick was beginning to get worried.
"I am going to check on her." he said getting up. He opened the door, and turned towards the car. He told Kevin not to park so far back, but what does Kevin do? Park in the back. Once he got closer, he noticed the front window had been busted in. He saw a white envelope and the diamond necklace he had given her for her birthday. Nick feared the worst. He ran to the van but saw no sign of Crystal. All he saw was a blue shoe, the keys on the ground and a handful of hair strewed out on the pavement.
Nick opened the envelope and read it's contents.
Hey pretty boy. I got your girl. You better pray I don't kill her! What are you gonna do now pretty boy, sing to me?? HA HA! Catch me if you can!
"Oh hell no!" nick yelled. He wiped away the tears that had streaked down his face. He grabbed the necklace, the note and ran inside.
"We have to call the police!" he yelled. The guys looked at him with pale faces.
"Wh....why?" Brian asked, hoping it wasn't what he thought. "Call the police!" he yelled to the cashier. She ran to the back then confirmed she called them.
"Nickay...... what's wrong, where's Crystal?" Brian asked. "She......she, I....they took her away from me!" he stuttered. The necklace just dropped and rolled to Brian's feet. Nick slumped to his knees. "I'm sorry Crystal, I'm sorry I wasn't there to save you." he whispered.
