Chapter 1

"Time to make a pit stop." I sighed to no one in particular. I was almost there. Just another half hour until I reach Tampa. I have to admit I was actually a little excited about being so close to my new home and that is weird considering I am drained from the long drive.

I turned off the radio, opened my door and locked it behind me. Hey, I don't know if I can trust these people. Anyway, I was walking to a little shop to get coffee when I noticed some bugs flying around me. I began to walk a little faster when I noticed gas pumps COVERED in the nasty bugs. These weren't even normal flies, they were like two bugs attached to each other flying around doing god knows what! I darted into the shop when I noticed all eyes were on me. First of all,its about 3:00 am, what are all these people doing here? Shrugging off the stares I was receiving, I proceeded to walk to the soda machine when I noticed these slurpee looking drinks to my right. I love those things! So,I paid for one of them and the cashier told me that the bugs I was running from were called love bugs and that nobody loves them, they just love eachother. I decided to take a rest and just sit at a table drinking my frozen coke thing. I noticed that everyone decided to leave the rest stop and I was pretty much the only one there, when a tall young looking guy walked into the shop. He looked about my age or older, and I think he had blonde hair, but I couldn't see too well considering he was wearing a baseball cap that read KAOS. While I was looking at the guy and sipping my drink, he turned around and looked in my direction while paying for a coke. When he turned his head I was mesmerized by the lovely color of the man's eyes. They were an amazing shade of blue and I found myself staring, but I was woken from my dreaming by my cell phone ringing. "Damn" I cursed out loud. "Hello?" I said rather rudely.

"God,Linds,pms-ing much?!" my younger brother said.

"Shut up! I'm really tired, leave me alone."

"I love you too, Linds. Hold on." my brother said with sarcasm.

"Hey sweetie!" my mom practically yelled in to the phone. Damn, its too early for her to be talking so loud.

"Hey mom" I said, noticing the tall, blonde guy taking a seat in the booth behind me. He walked past me and sat down so were kinda back to back.

"Sweetie, where are you? We saw you pull into the rest stop, but we decided to keep driving. We're almost at the entrance to the community. Do you know your way? It's called Waterfront Enclosed Community."

"Waterfront Enclosed Community? I'm not sure where it is, but I'll try to find my way." I said trying to reassure my mom I would be fine. If I sounded unsure, my mom would give me directions which would probably lead me to Australia.

"Ok, hun. It's number 733. We had your rooms picked out before we got here. Just drive carefully and we'll see you soon. Love ya sweetie. Bye."

"See ya later, mom and don't worry I'll be fine." and with that I hung up the phone and let out a sigh.

"I couldn't help, but I overheard you saying you don't know your way to Waterfront, right?" an unfamiliar voice said. I turned around to come face to face with the stud I was so intently watching earlier.

"Um...yeah...that's right." I was at a loss for words. His eyes were piercing into mine.

"Well, I live there and I'm heading there now. Would you like me to show you the way?" I gave him a skeptical look. "By the way, I'm Nick" he stated with a smile. He held out his hand for a shake. Who am I to deny this guy a handshake? I obliged and gave him my hand. He shook it and brought it to his lips for a light kiss. I felt this weird sensation when he did that and I lightly blushed, but regained my composure quickly.

"I'm Lindsay and that would be really nice of you." I said grinning ear to ear. God Lindsay, you're pathetic. I thought to myself.

"So...Lindsay,ready to go?" he said looking into my eyes.

"Yeah, let me just hit the bathroom and I'll meet you outside." He nodded and slowly got up from his seat. I stood up and looked outside the window. I saw Nick wave to me. I waved back and entered the ladies room. I looked at myself in the mirror and said, "He's really nice. I'm lucky to have met him." I walked out of the bathroom, past the register and out the door. I looked around outside and noticed Nick leaning up against a dark green Durango. Hmmm...nice truck. I thought.

"Ready, Linds?" Nick asked.

"Yup!" I said almost too eagerly. Nick looked into my eyes and gave me a small smile. God, those eyes!!

"Is that your car?" he asked pointing to the silver Grand Am. I nodded and he gave me a look of approval. "Now, just follow me, I'll keep looking behind me, to make sure you're still there. What house number are you?"

"I think number 733. There should be a giant U-Haul parked on the street." I said with a half smile. Nick smile back and I jogged over to my car and eased into it. I started the engine and followed Nick until we reached a sign that read Waterfront Enclosed Community. Then I came to an abrupt stop almost hitting Nick's Durango. I rolled down my window and peaked out to see what the hold up was. I saw Nick's head sticking out of his vehicle giving an older man a frustrated look. Oh great. What's happening? I thought.
