Chapter 13
Ring! Ring! Ring! I slowly opened my eyes to see my phone ringing. I reached over to the night table and picked it up.
"Hello?" I asked groggily.
"Hi Hun."
"Yeah, hi Mom. What's up?" I asked
"Just wanted to check up on you." I looked over at my clock. 8:30!! I'm supposed to be in school. My mom heard my sudden breathe intake. "Oh, you're not going to school today. Nick brought you home last night. He said you had a rough day and a long night. So, you're spending the day with the guys. They'll be there at 11:00, so you have a few more hours to sleep. You guys can do anything, I trust you." My mom said confidently.
"Wow, thanks mom." I have never heard her say she trusts me.
"Well, we've been her for a few weeks, and you and Nick seem to be attached at the hip and Brian sounds nice too, so everything seems fine. Ok, honey, I gotta go. See you at 6:00. Bye."
"Bye mom." I hung up the phone and just smiled to myself as I drifted off to sleep again.
~10:32 am~
I was almost ready. I decided to dress comfy in small flared jeans and a
black 3/4 sleeve shirt. I lightly blew dry my hair, and placed small star
claws in my hair (they're like butterfly clips). I walked back into my room
to put my socks on when I heard the doorbell. Oh crap! I only had one sock
on. I ran down the stairs and tried to get my other sock on as I opened the
door. All of a sudden I fell over. I heard laughing and saw Nick, Brian,
and AJ standing on the porch. I finally got my sock on. I rubbed my head
as Nick helped me up. "Looks like we found the female Frack!" AJ said laughing.
Nick and I gave an evil glare towards AJ. "Sorry dude. It's true. I mean
you dress alike, you've both got the blonde hair, blue eye thing going on,
and you are both clums-"
"Shut up!" Nick and I said at the same time.
"And I rest my case." AJ said crossing his arms. We all laughed as I gave
each of them a hug. We walked into the kitchen, knowing they were hungry.
"Ok, what do you guys wanna eat?" I asked. They looked at me funny as I hopped
onto the counter. "C'mon you are growing boys. I know you're hungry." They
all nodded.
"But Lindsay, I've gotta watch my figure." Brian said striking a pose and
sucking on his cheeks. We all laughed. We came to a unanimous decision of
pizza. They wanted to order out, but I wanted to make it from scratch. So
that's what we did. When I was done making the dough, I separated it into
four pieces. One for each of us. I was finished in a few minutes. I looked
over at the other guys. AJ was making weird shapes out of it while Nick and
Brian were covered in flour. Brian tried flipping the pizza in the air and
did a pretty good job. After I got the pizzas in the oven and the guys cleaned
up, we sat down at the kitchen table. I sat with my knees to my forehead.
I leaned my head against my knees.
"How are ya feeling?" Nick asked. I looked up to see all three of them staring
at me.
"Pretty good." I said putting on a fake smile. I saw AJ sniff the air.
"I think the pizza is done." I nodded my head and got the pizzas out of the
oven. I placed each of the extra cheese pizzas on separate plates. I made
mine different with a lot of sauce and pepperoni. Yum! After we ate, Nick
leaned back and rubbed his stomach.
"That was really good, Linds. I think we should eat here all the time." Nick
said smiling. The others agreed. If I eat a lot and just lounge around, I
feel fat and greasy, so I thought of something active to do.
"Who's up for a game of b-ball?" I asked out of the blue. The guys nodded
their heads. I threw all the dishes in the sink and ran outside to take the
basketball net out of the garage. I wheeled the heavy thing out. The guys
looked at me weird. "What? I can do it by myself, I'm buff." I said flexing.
"Alright, wonder woman, you're with Nick considering you're kinda the shortest
one out of us and Nick's the tallest. It evens out." I just nodded. For the
next half hour we played a hard game of basketball with Nick and I as the
winning team. We sat around drinking bottled water when I had a crazy idea.
It was really hot outside. I needed to go into the pool. I jogged over to
the pool, and dove in with all my clothes on. I was surprised when I came
up for sir to see all the other guys in the pool with me. I pulled out my
star clips and dunked my head back under the water. I came back up to see
Nick shaking his head like a dog. Water went everywhere. It was funny. All
the guys began to take their shirts off. "Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't
do that." I said softly to myself with my eyes closed. I dove under the water
and swam to the deep end of our pool. When I came back up for more air, I
was attacked by the three guys. I can play with this. I thought. When I felt
them get off of me, I turned onto my stomach as my body floated to top of
the water.
"Shit, Nick! Look at her." Brian yelled. They both swam over to me worried.
They just stared at me. AJ came through and pushed them aside.
"She'd dead and you're staring at her! What's wrong with you?" AJ yelled.
He rolled my body over as Nick and Brian smile at each other. AJ bent down
to give me mouth to mouth when I smiled wickedly. AJ looked at me surprised
as Nick and Brian laughed.
"That's gotta be the best one ever pulled." Brian said. Nick nodded.
~In The House~
After I had apologized to AJ and we had all changed into dry clothes, we
decided to watch a horror flick. We sat down to watch "The Omen". AJ was
sitting on the floor surrounded by pillows, while I sat in between Brian
and Nick on the couch. My head was on Nick's shoulder while my legs laid
across Brian. After a half hour of the movie, I fell asleep.
"I'm really glad you met her, Frack." Brian said lowering the volume on the
t.v.
"Yeah, me too. She's quite a catch." AJ said nudging Nick and winking his
eye.
"What are you talking about, Bone?" Nick asked.
"Nothing, man." AJ said shaking his head as he got up to go to the bathroom.
Nick looked over at Brian.
"Nick, I don't understand it." Brian said. Nick cocked an eyebrow. "You always
complain about finding someone to love. You meet some chicks, but they never
seem to work out. They always like you for your fame, your money, or your
looks. You need to stop complaining." AJ walked back into the room. "You've
got the perfect girl for you asleep on your shoulder." Brian said getting
up and placing my legs gently down on the couch. He walked into the bathroom.
"Nick, I don't know you're entire convo with Rok, but I think he's right.
She may not be a movie star, and she may not be a model, but she cares deeply
about you and is one hell of a friend to you." Nick nodded his head as Brian
entered the living room looking at his watch.
"Sorry to say, but we gotta leave sleeping beauty. We've got to meet the
other guys and Fatima to rehearse." AJ nodded. "We're gonna see her tonight
when we leave, right?" Nick nodded. "Ok, good. AJ and I will wait for you
in the car. Brian walked up to me and placed a soft kiss on my cheek as did
AJ. They walked out of the house and closed the door behind them. As I heard
the door shut, I opened my eyes slowly. I looked up to see Nick staring into
my eyes. I smiled as Nick reached down and rubbed my cheek softly.
"I gotta go, Linds." I nodded and removed my head from Nick's chest. "You'll
be at the airport at 7:00, right?" I nodded.
"Of course. Gotta see my boys off to New York." I said kind of depressed.
"Linds, it's only a few days." Nick said touching my cheek.
"I know, but I'm really nervous about singing for Lou. I've never done anything
like this and you guys just threw this at me. I want to do well, but I'm
scared 'cuz you're not gonna be there with me." I explained. I got up without
saying another word and walked to the door. Nick got up and followed me.
Nick hugged me tight as he spoke.
"I know you're nervous, but Lou will love you. You'll do great. You've got
a talent and Lou can spot stuff like that a mile away." Nick explained. He
pulled back. "See ya later, Linds." He said kissing me on my cheek. He jogged
over to the guys waiting in Brian's jeep. Nick got in as Brian honked the
horn. I waved and shut the door.
"I have got to be the luckiest girl in the world." I said smiling and placing
my hand on the spot Nick's lips had just been on.
