Chapter 3
I was sitting on AJ's couch waiting for him to come back inside, he had gone out to walk Ms. Micheals to her car. I didn't go because neither Ms. Micheals nor I like teary good-bye's and we both new that after being together for 7 months that it would be nothing BUT a teary goodbye if I went out too.
"Hey you" he said as he walked back in and saw me sitting and waiting.
"Hi" I said.
"Well, do ya like your room??" he asked
"Oh, yeah, I LOVE it it's gorgeous, and how'd you know that lavender is my favorite color???"
"Lets just say a little bird told me!!"
"Well, thank you, it means a lot for someone to care enough to do something like that for me."
"Christy, you deserve it hun, you've been through a lot. Now, lets get down to business okay." I simply nodded letting him know that I was ready to hear whatever he had to say.
"Well, first, I'm sure you heard that you will be homeschooling rather than going to a public school." He looked at me as if expecting an answer, I nodded.
"My buddies and I formed a singing group about 8 years ago, and we tour the world now as the Backstreet Boys, I always said that if I had kids I'd take them around the world. And, I KNOW your not mine, but you are old enough to appreciate travel and I'd like to have you touring with us." He stopped letting me know it was my turn to speak.
"I understand and I'm happy to travel whenever I can, so I can't wait!!!" I said excitedly
"Good, that's a relief, all the guys told me that you'd have a BIG problem with it, I'm glad that I can tell them that they were wrong!!" At that I giggled. Then he continued. "Okay, onto the second order of business- my night life" he sighed and then continued, "I'm a party animal, I love to go clubbing at nights. I know that you can't come with me because your not old enough yet, but I also know that my neighborhood is most definitely NOT known for it's good deeds, in fact recently it's been known for weirdos wandering around late at night. I don't want you staying here alone at nights, I just want you to know that it's not because I don't trust you, it's because I don't trust anyone around here late at night. Anyway, my buddy and fellow band mate Nick Carter has offered to come on some nights and just be in the house so I can go out, I want to know if your okay with that?"
"I'm fine with it and I totally understand, in fact, I don't know if I'd be able to stay in a big house like this one all alone at night. Just one question- how old is this 'Nick guy'??"
"Nick is 20, don't worry I wouldn't use the double standard and ask some 16 year old guy over here to be with you, that would be wrong of me, Nick isn't your age but he is just like a little kid, I think you'll get along fine with him!!"
"Okay by me!! I really don't mind." I said firmly wanting him to know that I wasn't upset at all by this, in fact I would be terrified to stay in his house alone at night!!
"Lastly, we need to decide on a nickname for you!!" he said
"What do you mean, can't you just call me Christy??" I asked in a mocking tone to let him know that I was just playing with him.
"I guess, but a nickname would make living more relaxed and fun!! And in return you can give me one. Okay, now do your friends in Tennessee have nicknames for you??" he asked
"Naw, not really, maybe one or two, but none I'd want to have someone call me EVERYDAY!!"
"Okay, so if I asked your friends what would they tell me about you??"
"Well, I always wanted to be a princess, and I always got princess treatment from people at school."
"Well then I think we have a winner, I can call you princess, or princess, or PRINCESS!!! You'll be my princess and just so that people know that, we'll get a key chain made for you with 'princess' written on it and you can put your house key on it okay??"
"sounds good to me---hey wait a minute---I don't have a nickname for you yet!!!" I semi-yelled
"well, what do ya wanna call me princess??"
"I don't know, how bout Pooh."
"Why Pooh??"
"Pooh is my favorite Disney character, you know, Winnie the Pooh??" I said with a giggle.
"Well then Pooh it is Princess!!" with that we both retired to our rooms
for the night.
