Chapter 4
I woke up really disoriented and I heard a lot of laughter coming from down stairs. I slowly emerged from my bedroom and walked downstairs. What I saw freaked me out beyond words, there were four guys all sitting in front of a TV screen in my, excuse me, OUR living room!!! Before I could even think about what I was doing or what they might be doing in our living room I screamed. The reaction I got to that was priceless- four male heads whipped around to find a 16 year old girl with her eyes bugged out of her head staring at them with disbelief. Finally AJ, came out of the kitchen holding a big bowl filled with something. He looked at me, then at the guys and then back at me. He let out a chuckle and said, "Hey princess!! Sleep well??" He then looked at the guys and said, "Guys, this is my goddaughter, Christy, I told you she would be living with me!!" To that he got "yeahs, and ohhhs" from the guys. But me, I was still clueless.
"AJ, could I talk to you PLEASE!!!! Alone!!!" I asked him showing that I meant business with my hand motions.
By the time AJ and I had entered my room he was laughing hysterically. Finally he calmed down enough to explain. "Princess, those are my band mates. I guess I forgot to tell you the Saturday morning ritual huh??"
"Oh, no, I know EXACLTY why they are here!!" I said, sarcasm dripping from my voice.
"Okay, see, every Saturday morning, or every Saturday that we are in the same town, one of us hosts a little Saturday morning party, we all get together eat and watch TV."
"Fine, I get it now, I'm sorry for exploding, it's just that when I didn't see you down there with them, I couldn't help but wonder…."
"Yeah, Princess, I understand completely, now what do ya say I take you down there and properly introduce you to the guys??" I smiled and nodded.
When we got down stairs AJ grabbed my hands and dragged me into the living room. When I saw all the guys, I suddenly got shy and wouldn't take my eyes of a piece of the white carpet in there.
"Guys, this is Christy, my goddaughter." When he said that I looked up, a faint blush on my face and smiled shyly. A chorus of "hi! How are ya's" followed his introduction.
Then AJ smiled and looked at me "Christy, these are the guys, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and Nick Carter." I said a shy "hi" and then each one got up and came over and gave me a hug. It was then I realized that I hadn't changed yet that morning, I was still in my jammers!! So I looked at AJ, who gave me a sympathetic smile and I said, "It was really nice meeting you guys!!" "Pooh, I'm just going to go change now!!" AJ looked at me, smiled and nodded motioning that it was okay to leave.
When I came back downstairs, only AJ and Nick were there, when I asked where the others were AJ told me they were going to pack because Brian and Kevin were going home to Kentucky for the rest of vacation and Howie was going on a week long ski trip getaway with some old high school buddies of his. Then AJ looked at Nick then back at me and said, "I'm going out with my girlfriend tonight, I'll be out late so Nick is going to spend the day and then tonight with us okay??" He asked trying to make sure that his plans were okay with me.
"That's fine with me, I have to go do my morning workout though, otherwise,
don't expect any enthusiasm out of me today!!!" With that I went upstairs
to turn my stereo on and started doing my old Jazz routines.
