Chapter 9
*Brian's POV*
"What the heck is going on here," I wondered as Kris tore off, black hair flying wildly behind her.
"Kevin, man, what happened? Kris was acting so weird, and she just tore off without barely a word to me." Kevin looked at me strangely as he closed and locked up his car.
"Cuz, she really didn't know, about us and the Bsb. Kris was gonna ask you about it, but you weren't home, so I talked to her about it a little."
"Okay, so now she does?"
"Yeah, and boy was she pissed at us! She didn't appreciate finding out from MTV too much," Kevin explained, walking inside.
"She
saw the press conference from yesterday. Dang it, I was gonna tell her! All
well, I'll just have to wait and see what happens, but I have a feeling it may
not be good I thought, following my cousin inside. "Maybe I'll see if Kevin
wants to go out tonight..." *
*Kris' POV*
"I hope that Brian doesn't think that I'm ditching him, leaving like that," I thought as I changed into some khaki shorts and a maroon tank top, now at home. That somebody that I was going to meet was special, but it isn't like that between us. He is my best friend, his name being Christian, or Chris.
"Kris, I'm going out with Nick, okay? I'll leave a message on the machine if I'm not coming back or whatever," Na called from the other room.
"I'm going out with Chris tonight, Na. I don't have a clue when we're going to be back, or for that matter, where we're going. Just page me later, ok?"
"No problem, see ya later!" Na called, slamming the door shut as a car honked loudly from the street. I picked up the BsB CD Na had left on the stereo and popped it in. Soon I was dancing around the apartment, singing, 'Don't Leave Me' as loudly as I could while cleaning up. I was so lost in the music that I didn't know Chris was there until he wrapped his strong arms around me from behind and started dancing with me.
"Christian, I missed you!" I cried, turning and hugging his 6'2", muscular body close to mine. Emerald green eyes, cat's eyes as I called them, smiled down at me as he leaned down and lightly kissed my lips.
"Hey babe, don't make me fall, I missed you too! I haven't seen you since Thanksgiving, what have you been up to?"
"Take me somewhere and I'll tell you. It'll take a while, believe me!"
"Okay, lets
go, I'll surprise you," Chris replied, grabbing my hand and pulling me
out the door. *
"Okay, can you guess where we are?" Chris asked me, leading me down a flight of steps, my eyes closed. A wave of air conditioning and the sounds of voices and clicking noises hit me.
"Of course, we're at the pool hall, and I know I'm right," I cried, opening my eyes. I was right, of course. Christian held my hand in his big one, leading me to the only empty pool table in the hall, and I realized how much I'd missed him.
"Hey, can you get me a hot dog, I'm so starving," I pleaded, giving Chris my best puppy dog look.
"All right, no need to beg! I'd do anything for you, you know that." He left me with a sweet kiss on the cheek and a hug. I smiled and turned to rack the pool balls, only to find the bluest eyes looking back at me, eyes I'd only seen for the first time a few days ago.
"Brian! I didn't know you were here!" I cried, walking over to greet him. I leaned up to kiss him on the cheek, but he backed away, his eyes like ice. "What's the matter, Brian?"
"Who is that?" Brian's voice shook as he pointed at Chris, his brown/ gold hair glowing in the lights.
"I told you I was going out, that's Christian," I replied nonchalantly, hugging Brian. I could see the jealousy in his eyes, even though we weren't even a couple.
"Here's your stuff Krissy," Christian called, coming over and wrapping an arm around me.
"He's been my best friend since forever, and I haven't seen him since Thanksgiving. Chris, this is Brian, Brian, Chris. I just met Brian a couple days ago, he helped me out when my car died on me. Is Kevin here?" I asked, turning to look at Brian. The ice left his eyes, but there was something about them that just wasn't right.
"Yeah, so is AJ. Howie's out on a date with some chick, I don't remember her name."
"Hey, do you guys wanna join us? We were just racking up," I waved at Kevin, who was heading towards us. "Hey Kevin, where's Bone?" I had started to ask, when I felt strong arms hug me from behind and then a big, wet kiss on my lips as I heard Chris question, "Bone?"
"AJ!" I cried, laughing as I focused on his exuberant face. The look on Christian's face was priceless, but the rest of us were laughing.
"Hey babe, I didn't know you were here! Let's play pool, I will whoop all of you!" AJ boasted with a wink, adjusting his dark, blue tinted sunglasses.
"Oh really? I'll take you up on that," I said, giving him the white ball. *
