Chapter 19

"Mandy! Will you get her to shut up!?" Sara yelled from the kitchen.
"I can't! She won't eat anything!" Mandy exclaimed and then slammed down the spoon.
"Let her starve, I don't care!" she yelled and then stomped off. I looked after her and then scooted closer to where Brianna was on her back crying. I picked her up and rocked her gently.
"Shhh," I said softly kissing her forehead. She hiccuped and started to calm down. I smiled and picked up the food. Surprisingly she started to eat it.
It's been several weeks since we have kidnapped Brian and Tiffany's children and the police have absolutely no idea where we are. I wish they did. I just want all of this to end. Since the police aren't doing anything I'm taking action into my own hands. I came up with a plan and I really think that it'll work. Tonight was when I was going to end everything. I won't tell you what I'm going to do but I am positive that it'll work. If not then I'll probably get killed. All I want is to end all this and for Brian and Tiffany to have their children back with them. I want to do more because I feel so terrible about all this but I doubt I can.

"I'm going to go to bed now," Jason yawned as he got up from the couch.
"OK, good night sweetie," I said as he kissed my cheek and then hugged Brian. He smiled at me and then headed up the stairs. I slumped back into the couch and sighed.
"What's wrong baby?" Brian asked sitting next to me on the couch and pulling me up onto his lap. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me close.
"It's so quiet without the kids here with us," I said softly. He kissed my cheek gently and said, "I know but we'll have them back soon and when we do I bet you'll want them to go away again."
"Brian! I would never say anything like that!" I exclaimed looking at him.
He chuckled and said, "I was only kidding honey. You need to loosen up."
"I can't," I said quietly.

"You can do anything you set your mind to or I'll help you," I smiled cheesely at her.
"How are you going to that?" she giggled.
I kissed her on the lips lightly and said, "By that."
"That won't help anything," she laughed. I kissed her again and then kissed her nose.
"That didn't do anything either," she smiled at me.
"Oh so my kisses aren't good enough? Huh? Huh? Huh?" I said tickling her. She started to giggle and squirm around in my arms. God I love her.

1:34AM
I crept slowly out of my room and down the hall to Courtney's room. I had a bag on my back filled with supplies like food, water, etc., for when we get on the road.
I opened Courtney's door and walked in quietly. I slowly walked over to the side of her bed and bent down. She had a teddy bear in her arms and she was sleeping soundly. There was a bump visible on her head from when Mandy hit her but it wasn't as big as it was. It was healing.
"Courtney," I whispered shaking her lightly. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked at me for a moment until she knew who I was. She then flinched and backed off.
"No no no, don't be scared, I'm going to help you," I said quickly. I didn't want her to scream and wake up Sara and Mandy. She just looked up and me and then said in a small voice, "Help me?"
I nodded and smiled at her, "I'm gonna take you and your brother and sister back to your mommy and daddy. How does that sound?"
A huge smile broke out on her face and she jumped up on her bed and hugged me. I lightly laughed and fell back a little.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," she said happily.
"Shhh, we gotta be really quiet so we don't wake up Sara and Mandy, OK?" I said standing up. She nodded her head vigorously and said, "OK."
"All right, lets go get your brother and sister," I said taking her hand. We walked over to the door and I peered out. The hall way was still dark and no movement was going on. I opened the door a little more and squeezed through it. Courtney followed right behind me. We both walked down the hall and to the door near the kitchen. The door was already open and inside you could see the two little outlines of two babies.
"Shhh," I said putting up my finger up to my mouth. Courtney nodded and followed me into the room. I picked up Brian and found that he was awake and chewing on his blanket. He giggled when I lifted him up. I smiled and then bent down and handed him to Courtney. Courtney held him gently and I was surprised that she didn't drop him or upset him in any way. I then picked up Brianna. She was asleep and thankfully she didn't wake up. I bent down again and Courtney put Brian in my arms so that I was carrying both Brianna and Brian.
I looked around the room to see if I had everything and then walked out of the room slowly. My heart started to pound. I was lucky enough to not have been caught already. I had a bad feeling that I was going to get caught any moment. I rushed across the living room and to the door but right before Courtney could get the door open one of the floor boards creaked. I stopped abruptly and flinched. I was breathing hard and Courtney was looking at me wide eyed, her hand on the door knob. I stood there straining to hear any movement in one of the rooms. I heard nothing.
"Go," I said under my breath. Courtney just stood there.
"Go," I said a little louder. She opened the door then and ran out into the cool and crisp air. I rushed after her to the truck.
"What do we do now?" Courtney asked looking around wildly. I took a deep breath and said, "Open the doors."
She did as I said and helped me get the babies into their car seats. Once they were buckled in I helped Courtney into the passenger's seat. She hugged her teddy bear to me and looked at me nervously. I smiled at her and said, "We're almost out of here."
She slightly smiled at me and then I closed the door behind her as quietly as I could. I threw the bag of supplies in the back and then walked around the front digging into my pants pocket looking for...the keys. Oh no! I don't have them! I spun around and looked at the house. The door was still wide open and there on the living room table the car keys laid. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse the worse had to happen... just then Sara's bedroom light went on.
