Chapter 3

1 Month Later

Tiffany's View

I opened my eyes slowly and squinted from the morning light coming through the window. I looked over at Brian's spot and found that he wasn't there like always. God I miss him. I sighed and got out of bed slowly. I took a shower and put on Khaki shorts and a red tank top. I was beginning to show a little in the stomach. Nothing to major but you could tell that the baby was growing. I put on my shoes and then put my hair up in a pony tail. I did my make up and looked in the mirror. I looked at the bed in the reflection and frowned. Usually Brian would be there staring at me but he wasn't there anymore. I was beginning to have tears come to my eyes. I blinked my eyes and shook my head. I walked out of the room and then went down the stairs. I walked to the kitchen to see Nick, Darlene and Michelle sitting at the table.

"Oh hey," I slightly smiled.

"Hey Tiffy," Nick smiled at me.

"Hey," Darlene smiled.

"How are you?" Darlene asked.

"Not good," I said rubbing my eyes. Nick and Darlene both frowned.

"Be happy mommy!" Michelle said.

"I'll try baby," I said.

"Tiffany?" Nick asked.

"Yeah?"

"I know you don't want to forget about Bri, well, none of us do. It's just that I think that you should move on."

"What the hell do you think I've been trying to do!?"

"I'm just saying..."

"No Nick! Just stop!" I said. I got up and walked up to the doors that went to the beach.

"Where are you going?" Darlene asked worried.

"For a walk," I said opening the door and walking out. I stepped down off the patio steps and walked down the beach. I sat down and brought my knees up to my chest. I set my chin on my knees and just looked out at the ocean.

Brian's View

I sat next to Tiffany and looked at her. She was staring intently at the ocean. I really can't take anymore of this. This is just horrible to watch. I haven't touched Tiffany at all since that one night. I kept my distance and Josh is proud that I'm listening to him. He keeps saying how something good is going to happen and that I just need to wait. Well, I can't wait anymore! This is so frustrating!

I looked at Tiffany and saw tears streaming down her face.

"No please don't cry," I said softly. She covered her face in her hands and just sobbed. I wrapped my arms around her but as usual I just went right through her. UGH! I can't take this!

"JASON! GET DOWN HERE!" I yelled. I waited and finally I heard the usual greeting.

"Yes Brian?"

"I need to know now! Please! Just anything that will make us both happy!"

"I can't..."

"Please?" I begged. He looked at me and sighed.

"OK," he said. He sat down next to me and then looked at Tiffany. He frowned and shook his head.

"Well?"

"God had classified you as an accident," he said.

"An accident? What's that?"

"It's a person who died who wasn't supposed to," he said.

"I wasn't supposed to die?"

"No," he shook his head.

"Then why can't I have my life back?"

"Because it's not your time yet," he said.

"How long do I have to wait?"

"I think six more months," he said.

"I'll get my life back in six months?"

"Yeah," he nodded. "But you will only get it back if you don't let Tiffany hear or see you. That's why I was so strict about that. I didn't want you to screw this up."

"YES!" I smiled. I looked at Tiffany smiling but my smile soon turned into a frown. She was still sobbing uncontrollably.

"Is she ever going to be happy?"

"I don't think so Brian."

"Do you know what she's going to do to herself?"

"We're not sure. She has so many ideas as to what she wants to do and we just can't see what she will do."

"Is she going to kill herself?"

"Yes," Jason sighed. "Pretty soon. That's why I didn't want to tell you about you getting your life back. I figured that if you didn't know and she died you would be happy together but then I got to thinking about Michelle and your son."

"My son?" I asked in shock.

"Yes Brian, your son. I just found out."

"I'm going to have a son?" I asked.

"Hopefully," he sighed. "We're hoping that she'll change her mind and just let the baby be born."

"Can't you do anything?"

"I'm sorry but I can't. It's up to her."

"This sucks," I mumbled.

"I know," he sighed. "Just hang in there."

"I''ll try," I mumbled.

"OK," he said quietly. He then slowly faded away. I looked over ar a still crying Tiffany and sighed.

"Please don't do anything to hurt yourself and our baby," I softly said.
