Chapter 47

Later on that Night

Tiffany's View

Nick and I were in the living room right now watching TV. Today Nick and I went to the beach to just talk and Darlene and Brian went to I think a movie to just hang out. It was Darlene's idea. I think she thought that it would be better for me and Bri to get out or something.

Anyway I just put the kids to sleep and Nick is just sitting there looking as bored as ever.

"Are you bored?" I asked.

"What do you think?" he asked sarcastically. I just laughed.

"I wanna do something else besides just sitting here," he whined.

"Then what do you wanna do?" I asked turning the TV off and facing him.

"Let's talk girlfriend. We haven't talked alone in like forever," he said crossing his legs in an Indian style and facing me just like I did.

"OK, what do you wanna talk about?"

"Hmm...let me think," he said. "OK, how about your family. I haven't talked to them in like forever."

"They're good," I smiled.

"Good to hear."

"How's your family?"

"Good as always," he smiled.

"That's good," I said nodding.

"This sucks," Nick whined.

"What?"

"You," he said.

"Oh thanks, I sure feel loved."

"No, I didn't mean it like that. I meant that this whole thing with you and Brian. I mean Brian was the luckiest guy alive to have you and now he's lost you and I feel so sorry for him. I know exactly what he's going through."

"I'm not that great or special. I don't know why you say he was the luckiest guy alive."

"He was! I would have done anything for you to be my girlfriend."

"That's sweet."

"It's true! I kind of still would do anything."

"But...I thought you loved Darlene."

"I do but I still love you. I'll always love you."

"Nick I thought you got over me."

"I could never get over you. I love you too much to forget about what I feel."

"Nick are you forgetting..."

"About Darlene?"

"Yes, about Darlene."

"No I'm not. It's possible for a man to love more than one woman."

"But that's not right."

"I know but I can't help what I feel. You're beautiful, sweet, nice, caring, loving, understanding...I can go on and on."

Nick's View

"That's really sweet of you Nick," she smiled at me.

"I love your smile too," I said. She smiled at me and then leaned in and kissed my lips lightly. I was taken aback at what she just did. I didn't think she would kiss me.

"W...What did you do that for?"

"For being so sweet to me," she smiled. I smiled back and leaned in and kissed her. Her lips felt so soft. I almost forgot what it felt like to kiss her. I stroked her cheek gently as the kiss deepened. She kissed back and ran her hands through my hair. That was driving me crazy! I kissed more passionately moving my hands down her sides. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed back. I pulled her close and just as I was about to move my hands up her shirt I heard the all to familiar voice or Darlene, "WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!"

Tiffany and I pulled apart and looked at Darlene and Brian. They were wide eyed and very angry.

"Oh my God! Um..." I said as I looked at Tiffany. She was in total shock just like I was.

"YOU'RE CHEATING ON ME!?" She screamed.

"I...Oh God," I said. I jumped up from the couch and just stood there trying to figure out what to say.

"Tiffany? You broke up with me for him?" Brian asked with a hurt expression. I could tell he was going to cry.

"NO! I didn't..."

"YOU SLUT!" Darlene screamed walking up to Tiffany and slapping her across the face. Tiffany held her cheek and looked at Darlene shocked.

"YOU DON'T EVER KISS MY MAN!" she screamed. I grabbed Tiffany's arm and pulled her to the side.

"It isn't her fault," I said.

"STOP TRYING TO DEFEND THAT HO!"

"Darlene you're overreacting."

"OVERREACTING!? I'M NOT OVERREACTING! I JUST WALKED IN ON MY BOYFRIEND AND MY BEST FRIEND MAKING OUT!"

"It's not..." I began but was cut short by Darlene's hard hand collide with my cheek.

"You are an asshole!"

"Darlene please! Just listen! I can explain!"

"I don't want to hear your stupid ass excuses! Apparently you don't love me, you love Tiffany still! Maybe you two should just go out!"

"Honey, calm down. I love you," I said.

"I'm not going to cal..." she began to say but she stopped in mid sentence. She stopped and grabbed her stomach in pain.

"OW!!!!!!! AAAAHHHH!" she screamed holding her stomach.

"Darlene? What's wrong?" I asked putting my hand on her shoulder. Brian rushed over and held her up.

"The baby," she cried. "IT'S COMING!"
