Chapter 6

"What are we doing back here?" I asked as we pulled up in front of our apartment building.

"Sleeping," Stacie replied.

"Are you crazy? It’s the middle of the day!" I shouted exasperated.

"We have to be able to stay up all night, so we should sleep now," Deb said. What in the world are they talking about?

"What are you doing?"

"Not just us. You’re coming too!" Deb replied.

"Where?" I asked suspiciously.

Stacie looked about ready to burst. Deb nodded and Stacie finally shouted, "Clubbing!"

Now this was something to get excited about. "You mean they let you in under 21 in Florida?" I asked eagerly.

"Of course not," said Deb.

"Then how….."

Deb cut me off before I could finish. "I have my contacts," she stated simply.

I rolled my eyes. I was willing to bet anything that Deb’s contact was a guy. Oh well, this is probably the only time I’ll get to do this so I might as well. It does sound like fun. "I’m in," I said without another thought.

"OK," Deb said taking charge once again, "we’ll all go to sleep now and get up at eight. That way we’ll be there by nine or nine thirty."

We were just about to go to our rooms when I thought of something and asked, "What do we have to wear? I mean do we have to get dressed up, or is this place casual?"

Deb thought for a moment and then replied, "You don’t have to get too dressy, but wear a simple skirt or dress."

With that out of the way we scattered to our rooms. I set my alarm for 8pm and then thought about whether I should put on pajamas. Finally, deciding against it, I turned on my CD player. As the first notes of "Larger Than Life" blast, I throw myself down on top of the covers in my shorts and T-shirt and go to sleep.
