Chapter Three
Brian had already returned to washing his nearly soapy-dried car, and AJ and Michely were sitting on lawn chairs away from the sprinkling hose talking quietly. Melissa and Christina were nowhere to be found.
As Nadia approached the lawn, Brian smiled one of those flashy smiles (you know the one), and turned off the hose. He dried his hands and stuck it out. "Hey man, what's happenin'? You're the cousin that's bringing everything?"
"Yup that would be me. Got stuck in traffic, sorry to hold you up." he told Nadia.
"And sorry to you for having to put up with these four." he joked to Brian.
"Oh no, don't worry, they weren't that bad. Hehe." Brian commented.
"Where's Meli and Christy?"
"Oh they went inside to meet my cousin and our 2 other friends. We're planning to have a barbecue that's why the house is packed. We would love it if you guys could join us, there's enough for the whole block."
"Sure! We'd love to, thanks a lot."
"Great! They don't all live here, don't worry. Just AJ, my cousin Kevin, and I." he said.
"Oh well, ok, I thought I might have to come over one day and hose you guys down. I haven't met them, can I?" she asked.
"Sure go on in. Help yourself to the fridge if your hungry or thirsty there's enough for a family of 20. I know it's been a busy day for you guys."
"Oh yeah, hey thanks a lot." Jeff remarked.
"No prob. Hey AJ, sorry to interrupt you but uh, could you check to see what Kevin is cooking? I thought he said hot dogs, but what, did he go and slaughter the pigs himself man? Go see what's taking so long. I'm hungry!" AJ and Michely started laughing, and AJ excused himself for a second. Then Brian and Michely started talking a bit. "Hey, so where you from?" he asked.
"Oh I'm from Kentucky, just like the girls. Christina and I used to live in the same neighborhood as them."
"Oh really?! Hey, do you know the All-Stars Theater and Restaurant?....."
When Jeff and Nadia went inside, there were 3 more cute guys just sitting there looking pretty with Christina and Melissa by their side. There was a blonde one, looking like he was in his late teens, but super cute. Then there was another guy with a little ponytail, and he had these big puppy dog eyes that anyone could melt for, and a bright smile that welcomed her and Jeff when they came in. Then there was the tall one, or at least he seemed like it when he was sitting down. He had a little goatee, almost like AJ's, around the mouth and on the chin. AJ and the pony-tailed guy had goatee's like that, but theirs went up to their sideburns.
'Oh my god, will this hot-guy mania ever stop?!' Nadia thought to herself.
All 5 of them looked up and Christina said, "Hey Nadia! I would like you to meet some more of Brian's friends. This is Kevin, also his cousin." she said, pointing to the one that was tall sitting next to her.
"That is Howie, and that is Nick." she said, while pointing to the one with the ponytail, and then the blonde one.
"Hi, how are all y'all doin'?" she asked. Jeff just smiled.
"Kentucky, right?" remarked Howie, surprising Nadia.
"Yeah, hehe how did you know?" "Oh, well I get enough of it here with Brian and Kevin. I should know by now."
She blushed, but she was glad he didn't notice as they all laughed when Kevin threw a pillow at him. She really digged that Howie.
Just then, AJ walked in and said, "Hey Kevin, dude, wassup man? Brian's complaining to me here about how long you're taking with the food, dawg. Where did you go to get those hot dogs, the slaughter house?"
They all laughed again as Kevin slowly got up from the couch he was sitting on. "I'm going, I'm going." he mumbled.
"Haha, getting to old, huh Kevy-Kev?" AJ remarked. When he saw the look that Kevin gave him, he just simply dashed out the door. The rest of them laughed when they heard him outside as he said to Brian, "Uh, food will be ready soon B-Rok."
"So, tell me about you guys. Who lives in this house? All of you?" Christina
asked. She was passing time as she silently hoped that Kevin would come back.
'Man that dude is all that and more. Whoo, I would love to see him sweat
at that barbecue.' she thought.
