Chapter Four
After a while of talking, Christina got up and excused herself as they all kept talking to go see Kevin. He was out back by the side of the house, turning over some meat on the grill.
She didn't see him there, but she did see the pool. 'Man, what a beautiful pool! I swear pools are better than the beach.' she thought as she bent down to touch the water.
Just then Kevin called out to her, and she yelped a bit and almost fell in the pool. Kevin came running over, and asked, "Are you ok? I didn't mean to scare you." he laughed.
"Oh no, don't worry, I just didn't see you there. Whoo, ok. That is one nice pool." she said.
"Yeah, we get in it a lot, it's relaxing. Except of course when all of us are out here. Then, it's just chaos." She giggled at his little remark. He smiled at her a beautiful flashy smile, and she hadn't seen it before. She could have died right there, he looked so cute when he smiled. She sighed deeply and just stared at him as he started talking again, but she didn't hear a word he said. She was off thinking to herself.
In the front of the house, Brian had finally finished washing his Jeep after what seemed hours, and parked it in the garage. "There! Finally done!"
AJ and Michely were talking and laughing, and AJ looked up when Brian was finished.
"Hey B-Rok, do me a favor dude. Wash my ride for me too please. It really needs it!" he said, pointing to his black Mercedes. It was speckled with white, most likely dust all over.
Brian looked at him, then at the car, then back at him. "Haha! Yeah right. There's the hose, there's the sponge and the bucket. Help yourself to the soap. See ya!" he laughed while running inside the house.
"Hey come on B! Don't be like that dude. Ah forget it."
Michely giggled, and he smiled at her. She was surprised by how cute his smile was. He hadn't shown his teeth until now. 'He's so fine! And he's so sweet. He seems to be a flirt. Well, I am too, or at least the girls say so.' she thought as he talked to her about some of the good places to go out to in Orlando. She just sighed and listened to him go on.
".....and there's a really good club back on Sunset Avenue, called the Starburst, and it's really cool. They play all good types of music there that is possible to dance to....."
Back inside, Brian had excused himself from the others to run upstairs and take a shower. Jeff was still inside talking to Nick, mostly about video games.
'How can Jeff be talking about video games at his age? He's 23! Oh well, whatever makes him happy. Just like I am.' Nadia thought as she smiled at Howie who was sitting right next to her. They had been talking for a long while now, mostly about Orlando, and what she can expect from that neighborhood.
"There's also some good clubs along Sunset Avenue and Cali Bay. There's one in particular, The Starburst, which AJ and me frequent a lot. It plays really good music." he said.
"Cool! I love to go clubbing. Of course, since I'm under age, I can only get into the 18 and over, but those are just as cool because I feel comfortable around people my age, but I have seen older people come into those clubs too. It seems they enjoy it also." she replied. He looked at her and flashed her a killer smile (oh yeah, you know what I'm talkin' about), and she almost collapsed in his arms. 'Man, he's gorgeous. I sure hope to get to know him better.' she thought, while at the same time he thought too. 'Man she's really pretty. I wonder if the guys plan to keep the girls around a while....'
Melissa was inside talking to Nick and Jeff about the video games. She had an urge so she asked politely, "Nick, where is the bathroom?"
"Oh, it's upstairs on the right, the second door down. Can't miss it, trust me." He laughed. She looked puzzled, and so he added, "You'll see what I mean."
She excused herself and walked up the stairs. "Now, on the right, second door," she mumbled under her breath. And there it was, unable to miss. "Oh! I know what he means!" she gasped and started to laugh. The bathroom was totally blue, everything and anything in it was blue. The wall was blue, the seat was blue, the sink had blue ornaments, it was just blue. "I wonder if Brian's favorite color is blue?" she wondered out loud.
"Yup, it sure is. The Bluegrass state!" claimed Brian as he sneaked up behind her.
"Ahh! Oh Brian you scared me!" she shrieked.
"Oh sorry. I didn't mean to. Looking for the bathroom? Well you found it." he laughed.
"Well yeah, I think I did." she giggled. "True, I didn't think of that. I forgot you were from Kentucky, the Bluegrass state itself. Well, if you'd excuse me..I uh, hehe.." she said bashfully.
"Oh yeah, hehe sorry. I'll let you get going. But hurry, you don't want Kevin to burn the food."
"Ok, I will."
"Wait for you downstairs." he whispered. She got chills all up and down her spine.
"Man he smelled good," she mumbled. "I think I'm really gonna like Orlando...and
my new neighbors."
