Chapter Five
"DINNERTIME! NOW!" yelled Kevin for the hundredth time. He had been announcing dinner for about 5 minutes, and no one had heard him. Christina was still outside with him, helping to set up the table and going inside to get the knives, forks, buns, cups, drinks, etc.. It was almost darkening, for by that time it was almost 5:00 pm.
"Hey guys! Afterwards let's get in the pool!" announced AJ, looking at Michely.
"Oh hey, but I didn't bring my swimsuit." she said.
"Neither did I." said Christina.
"Well we have ours, but it's packed up somewhere in the boxes." Jeff had already unloaded all their stuff with the help of Nick and Howie, and placed them in the house. He had left already because he wanted to get to Lexington before midnight.
"We'll help you find them," said Brian, pointing to Howie and himself.
"Ok, thanks, and then we can lend you girls 2 of them. Don't worry. Oh man, can you believe we haven't even seen the inside of the house yet? Hehe we don't even know if we have a pool." remarked Nadia.
"You do, almost like ours. That house has been for sale for a long time. We used to know the people who lived there and we used to go to their pool all the time. It's as good as ours." said AJ.
"Cool!" replied all the girls.
"Whoa, attack me with the quadruplets." he said.
"Well, let's get to grubbing people! I'm hungry!" announced Kevin.
"Nick go sit down. AJ go sit there next to Michely, Nadia chill there next to Howie, and, uh, Melissa, relax next to Brian. And then, I'll just sit here next to Christina." he said as he surprised her with another beautiful brightening smile.
Almost simultaneously all the guys said, "Yes, sir!" and saluted him.
"Oh shut up." he said. What a coincidence that everyone was sitting next to everyone they wanted to sit next to.
"Wow, Kev, man you outdone yourself this time. Took you a hell of a long time, but you done did it!" AJ said. They all laughed, and patted their stomachs.
"Damn straight!" Brian replied. "It's going to be impossible to get up from here." Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Well, thanks guys. So, who's up to doing the dishes?" Kevin asked. Suddenly they all got up and left Christina and Kevin sitting there. "Wow, I've never seen a crowd of people move so fast when they were glued to the chairs." he remarked.
Christina smirked and simply said, "Don't worry, have no fear. A woman is here."
He laughed and said "Thank you. There's one person who appreciates me!" he said, raising his voice to the house so the others could hear.
Then he put his hand to his ear and you could hear groans and moans of "Ah, shut up!" from the house. Christy and Kevin just laughed and started to pick up the plates.
AJ got Michely and took her outside in the front again. They talked for awhile about themselves. "...Yeah, I just recently turned 21. I like to go clubbing a lot, so this is like a great advantage for me. What about you?" he asked.
"Oh, I'm 19. I just graduated from high school here in Orlando, and I'm gonna take a year off or so to just relax. Then I'm gonna look for a college around here with the girls." she said.
"You guys are really happy to be together huh? How do you know each other?"
"Oh well, we used to live in the same neighborhood, all four of us. But Christina's dad and mine worked together for VISA, and one day, they had to move them to another state for business reasons. They chose to move them both to Florida and to Orlando, which is where another chain of VISA is stationed. So we had to move, and say good-bye to Melissa and Nadia. We called each other every day, and mailed letters to each other, right up until the day they moved down here. We're so glad to be together again, you have no idea." she explained.
"Really? So you guys are like sisters? That's tight. That's how me and these guys right here are. We're like brothers. We see each other every day and always get together to do stuff all over the place." he said.
"Cool, yeah exactly. That's how we are."
"Hey, Melissa, wanna go check out your house and get your swimsuits? I mean, before it gets too dark." called Brian.
"Oh yeah! Be right there! Let me get Nadia." Nadia was out back on another set of lawn chairs, talking quietly to Howie.
"....and I never really thought that..." Nadia was saying, when Melissa interrupted.
"Hey, sorry guys to interrupt, but Nadi, Brian is gonna help us get our swimsuits now."
"Oh totally! Hey, we'll talk again later Howie." she said smiling at him.
"Sure. Want me to help?"
"Yeah, come on." she said, sticking her hand out as Howie gladly took it. Both sets went outside, and found Michely and AJ talking.
"Hey Michely come over to our house. We're gonna check it out now, and we're gonna look for the swimsuits before it gets too dark."
"Oh cool! I'm there. Wanna come AJ?"
"Sure no diggity." he said smiling. Michely tried hard not to collapse. She grabbed his arm, and he opened it slightly so she could slip her hand through his arm so they were linked.
"Let's go my lady."
"Yes, sir my gentleman." she giggled.
"We'll bring one back for Christina. She's still there doing the dishes! Hehe." said Melissa.
"Yup, she fits like you Melissa. I'm more like Nadia." said Michely.
"Then it's settled. Now let's go check out our house!"
"YEAH!" they screamed.
"Whoa, there they go again. Hehe." chuckled AJ. But he wasn't minding all
the noise, no he wasn't. In fact, he hardly paid attention to it. He was
just concentrating on the girl clinging to his arm. 'I really dig this girl.
Hmm, and I don't think I'm the only one with summer love going on. Brian
seems to dig that Melissa chick, and Howie is getting comfy with Nadia. Man,
I hope this lasts.' he thought silently to himself. 'But what if they find
out about.....' He was interrupted from his thoughts by Michely, who asked
if he could go back to the house and get the key. They had left it on the
counter. "Huh? Oh, yeah sure, no problem. Be right back." Michely flashed
him a smile and a cute grin, and his knees wobbled. 'Man, I need to get to
know her better.' he thought to himself as he ran back to the house.
