Chapter 8
FURTHER INTERROGATION
(Brian’s house)
“He’ll come back home this night, right?” ask Brian.
“Who? Kevin?”
ask AJ. Brian nods. However, AJ shook his head. Brian’s eyes
widened.
“Hey, hey,
AJ. He will be alright, right? Nothing serious would be happen,
right,” Brian felt a little bit scared. AJ smile.
“Who knows?” AJ answers, “Wait until the decision comes out,”
“Someone told me he won't be serious,” Brian tries to make sure.
“May be. But
it won't be too sure,” AJ said. He feels really tired that day.
He didn’t know why though.
(At the base)
“TELL US DID YOU MET THE TANGS BEFORE?!” ask Captain Wahlberg.
“No!” Kevin who was tied at the wall answers.
Captain Wahlberg
once again beat Kevin by the scourge. So Kevin once again
screams. Howie close his eyes and turns his head away. He doesn’t want
to
look Kevin suffering. He really loves Kevin like his brother but in this
situation, he can't help Kevin even a little bit.
“TELL US DID
YOU GAVE THE TANGS OUR PASSWORD?!!” Captain Wahlberg keeps on
asking.
“No!” Kevin answers.
Captain Wahlberg
swings his scourge to Kevin’s body. Kevin screams as loud
as he can. Captain Wahlberg once again scourges Kevin even harder. Kevin
screams louder through Howie’s ears. Howie doesn’t know when but his
cheeks
are now wet with his tears.
“I’m sorry, Kevin. I’m sorry,” Howie whispered.
“TELL US DID YOU SEND THE LETTER TO ANYONE?!!” ask Captain Wahlberg.
“No!” Kevin answers.
For sure, once again Kevin be scourged. He screams.
“TELL US DID YOU SHOWED THE CODE TO ANYONE ELSE?!!” ask Captain Wahlberg.
“No!” Kevin said weakly.
Again he was scourged.
Kevin can't stand anymore this time. He feels like
his skin been lacerate. It’s really hurt until Kevin can't screams anymore.
Howie quickly ran out from the Torture Chamber. He really can't watch that
scene. That’s the worst scene he’d ever seen before.
(Tomorrow that day)
Captain Wahlberg
got a massage from the base to set Kevin free for a while
to make their search easier. Captain Wahlberg than take the order and
decides to free Kevin today. However, the news spread faster that all of the
people in New York City had gathered in front of the Torture Chamber just to
watch their hero being free that day. And one of them sure is Brian.
However, Brian just watch from far. He doesn’t want to watch his best friend
being tortured very clearly.
Kevin was set free
at 10.00 am. Brian could see that pallor face walking
through the crowds with his hand was cuffed.
“Look at him,
I thought he’s going to save our world. Seems like he was
actually planned to kill us,”
Brian could hear
someone else talking about Kevin. Brian closed his eyes.
Please, don’t say that. Kevin is innocent. I am the one is about to kill
you, Brian screams in his heart. What should I do?
Kevin walks on
towards the jeep that was parked in front the chamber.
Suddenly, he glanced at a man besides the road. He knows that man. He really
recognized him. He’s one of the Tangs, Mulligan. Mulligan smirks at him.
“What’s
up, captain? How’d you feel being scorned by your own country?”
Mulligan said proudly.
Kevin’s eyes
widened. This time he can't control himself as an army. He
jumps and attacks Mulligan without thinking anything. He kicks Mulligan out
and keep on attacking. Mulligan can't do anything. However, Captain Wahlberg
asks the other soldiers to keep Kevin back to his place.
Brian saw that
scene. He recognized Mulligan. He quickly go and get Mulligan
after the scene over.
“What have you done?!” Brian ask seriously.
“What have I done? Why don’t you ask yourself?” Mulligan said.
“What is exactly
the code is? You said Kevin won't be that serious. But now
he needs to be interrogate and mostly been tortured! You’d lie to me!”
Brian
said.
“You are the
fool one! If you really love him as your brother, you won't
steal anything from him! You will try your best just to make sure Kevin
would always believe in you! You are a fool, you know?! Everybody can fool
you!” Mulligan continued.
“How dare
you! You would have a very big problem if I tell this to General
Wright!” Brian said.
“You can if
you want. But remember, if you tell them, you will get yours
too,” Mulligan walks away leaving Brian alone.
Brian didn’t
say anything thinking about that himself. He feels really
guilty this time. What should I do? What should I do? Brian screams as hard
as he could in his lonely heart. Quickly he rushes to his car and drove
home. He was locked into a very complicated problem.
(Main Base of the army)
Kevin was placed
in a huge electric chamber full with wires. It was locked
with a huge glass to let it be a conductor for the electricity. Kevin could
hear a sound from the volume speaker.
“Captain Kevin,
if you still didn’t tell us the truth, you will die in 48
hours later. Coz you’re now located in a vacuum room. So you better not
to
lie if you really want to survive,”
Kevin spotted a
general at the speaker volume. He knows that those wires
were placed there to torture some prisoners. He snorts. He doesn’t know
what
to answer after this. He’d told the truth but they don’t want to believe
him.
“For the first
question,” a voice comes from the speaker. It sounds softer
then Captain Wahlberg, “Did you ever showed the code to anyone? I mean
not
even someone you trust?”
“Honestly no, sir,” Kevin answers.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, sir,” Kevin nods a little bit.
“Second question, did you ever met Fenbern before he escaped?”
“Yes, sir,” Kevin try to tell the truth.
“For what?”
“To interrogate him, sir,” Kevin said.
“Did anybody come with you?”
“General Howie
and Sergeant AJ is with me at the first. However they’d left
when I start to interrogate Fenbern, sir,” Kevin said.
Suddenly, currents
came out from the wires and goes straight over Kevin’s
body. Kevin screams.
“Don’t
you know, captain. That interrogating the criminal without anyone
besides us is a delinquency!”
Kevin try to be as patient as he can be. Slowly he nods.
“I know, sir,” Kevin said slowly.
“Then why don’t you move when General Howie and Sergeant AJ were out?”
“Fenbern is challenging me, sir,” Kevin said.
Once again the
currents tortured Kevin. Kevin could feels more pain than the
one he’d felt at the Torture Chamber. This is an electric kinda torture.
Too
much painer than being scourged.
“You know
that an army should be patient and not to take the criminal’s
challenge!”
“I’m sorry, sir,” Kevin said slowly.
