Chapter 12

Danielle's View

That Night

"Hey Danielle!" Brian smiled walking up behind me in the hall. I was on my way to the elevator. Everyone was leaving to go to a concert in about 10 minutes and I didn't want to be late.

"Oh hey Brian," I smiled at him.

"What's up?" he asked.

"I'm about to go down to the lobby, what are you doing?"

"I'm waiting for Elizabeth to get back up from downstairs. She said she had to get a couple more towels for our room."

"Oh, why didn't she just call for someone to bring some up?" I asked.

"I don't know, she's strange like that," he laughed.

'Ding'

The elevator bell rang and the elevator doors opened slowly. Elizabeth walked out in a purple sun dress and white clogs carrying a couple towels in her arms. She smiled when she saw Brian.

"Hey!" she smiled and kissed Brian on the lips. He smiled and said, "Hi."

I took a couple steps to the side so I wouldn't be in their way. Brian looked at me and then back at Elizabeth and asked, "Have you meet Danielle?"

Elizabeth turned to me and smiled, "No I haven't."

"Well, this here is Danielle and Danielle this is Elizabeth," he introduced us. I extended my hand, as did she, and we shook hands.

"It's nice to meet you," I said politely.

"It's nice to meet you too, Brian has told me about you, you seem like a sweet girl," she smiled.

"Thanks," I said slightly blushing.

"Maybe we could talk later, I was going to stay here for the afternoon and just relax. Maybe tonight or tomorrow we could go shopping or something," she suggested.

"Yeah that would be great," I smiled.

"OK cool, I'm gonna go back to the room so I'll talk to you guys later. Bye honey," she said kissing Brian on the cheek and then walking down the hall. Brian looked after her lovingly and I couldn't help but feel jealous. I don't know why I feel jealous, I mean I don't like Brian like that and I have Jason.

Brian turned to me and swung his arm around my shoulder, "So how do you like her little lady?"

"She's nice," I smiled up at him. We walked onto the elevator and waited as the doors closed in front of us.

"Yes, she is nice, I love her," he sighed happily.

"That's so cute!" I said poking him in the stomach. He just laughed.

We finally got to the lobby and walked out of the elevator. We walked outside and to the van that all the guys were sitting in. They all turned to us and smiled.

"Hey Dani, Hey Rok," they all greeted.

"Hello people's," I said sitting next to Nick in the back. Brian sat in front of me with AJ. Sophia was on the other side of AJ, Darlene was sitting up front with Howie and Kevin and Colleen was on the other side of Nick.

"Hey Chubby Buns," I said to Nick. He looked at me and laughed.

"Chubby Buns? Where did you get that? I'm not chubby!" he said.

"I like that name, I call most guys that sooner or later and of course you're not chubby. You're mister muscle man!"

"That's right," he said putting an arm around me and another arm around Colleen and then he started to sway singing, "I'm mister muscle man, I'm mister muscle man, so big and strong..."

Colleen, Darlene and I all started to laugh as all the other guys groaned.

"What? What I do?" Nick asked looking at everyone.

"Shut up about the muscle man thing!" Kevin said.

"Why? Are you just jealous you don't have my sexy body?" he asked.

Kevin chuckled and said, "Oh yes Nick I'm so jealous! Oh how I long to have your six pac and oh so big pecs!"

Everyone laughed and Nick just crossed his arms and stared at Kevin, "Are you making fun of me?"

"What do you think?"

"Oh I see! Bring it on Mr. Tough Guy! I can take you any day!" Nick said. Kevin just rolled his eyes.

I couldn't stop laughing at this point, "OK! Stop it please! My sides are aching!"

Brian turned around in his seat and smiled at me mischievously, "You're sides are really hurting huh?"

"Uh...no?"

Brian smiled and then jumped out of his seat. He landed next to me and he started to tickle me.

"Stop it Doofus! Get off!" I screeched. He just laughed and continued tickling me.

"Nick help me! You're the muscle man!"

"Sorry no can do, I'm no match for Bri," he laughed. I just knew he was enjoying the show.

"HELP! Brian stop it, please!" I said. Finally he stopped and grinned at me.

"You are evil!"

"So what if I am? You can't resist me! I'm just soooooooooo cute!" he said and then laid down on Nick's, Colleen's, and my lap.

"This is comfy," he sighed happily.

"We're here!" The driver said and then stopped the van.

"Oh get off!" I said pushing his feet off my legs and then getting out of the van. Nick and Colleen followed and Brian was found half way on the floor and half way on the seat. It didn't look like a comfortable position.

"How rude!" he said getting out of the van butt first.

"Nice butt Littrell," I smiled patting it. He got out of the band and looked at me with a small smirk on his face.

"So you like my butt?" he asked. Oh my gosh! He thought I was serious!

I could feel my cheeks start to burn.

"Um...Dani come walk in with me!" AJ said grabbing my arm and taking me toward the entrance. I looked back at Brian and found that he was looking at me with a small smile on his face. I bit my lip and turned to AJ, "Thanks."

"No problem, I figured I'd rescue you before Brian could embarrass you too much," he laughed.

We finally all got into the arena and we've been lounging around for about an hour when the guys had to go up on stage. We all did the group prayer and the guys started to head to their positions.

Brian walked up to me and whispered in my ear, "Why don't you pat my butt for a little good luck."

I looked at him and blushed. He just smiled at me and swung his arm around my shoulders, "I'm just kidding! It's OK if you think my butt his cute."

"Funny," I mumbled. He laughed and kissed my cheek.

"I'll see you after the show," he said and then went off to get set up. I touched my cheek gently where he had kissed it, I could still feel where he did kiss me. I smiled to myself and slowly walked to the dressing room where Darlene, Colleen and Sophia were all pigging out on Candy, Ice Cream, Chips, etc.

"Hey all!" I said sitting down on the floor in front of the table that had all the junk food on it.

"Hey girl, what's up with the smile?" Sophia asked.

"Oh, nothing," I said taking a potato chip and popping it into my mouth.

"Uh huh," she smiled at me.

"So anyway, have you talked to Jason lately?" Colleen asked.

"A couple days ago," I said stuffing some M&M's into my mouth.

"How he is?" Darlene asked.

"He's good but he says he misses me a whole lot."

"That's understandable, did you invite him on tour?" Darlene asked.

"Yep," I smiled.

"And?" Colleen asked.

"He'll be flying into Austin in a couple days," I smiled widely.

"Really? That's great! Now I can finally meet this cutie you keep talking about," Sophia laughed.

"I guess so, I'm supposed to go pick him up at the airport. Do you guys wanna come?"

"Of course!" they all exclaimed.

"Okie dokie, do you think Brian would want to come with?" I asked.

"I bet he would, he's the one that set all this up in the first place, I bet he would want to go and meet Jason," Colleen said.

"OK good, so anyway...do any of you feel like doing something besides eat?"

"We could go walk around the arena if you want," Sophia suggested.

"Yes, lets!" I said jumping up. I took a hand full of M&M's and walked to the door. Darlene, Colleen and Sophia all followed. We walked out from backstage and walked until we were near the front of the stage. I stopped when Brian came into view, he was sitting on a chair in the middle of the stage, strumming his guitar, his eyes closed, singing "That's What She Said." He was wearing white pants and a white wife beater, he looked so good.

I couldn't help but stare at him. All the screams and shouts from the crowd didn't seem to be as loud as I looked at him, he sang so beautifully. Brian opened his eyes and looked right at me...his expression didn't change. He only sang with more feeling. He looked at me so intently that I wanted to look away but I couldn't bring myself to do it. My heart was starting to beat wildly against my chest. We just sat there staring at each other as he sang.

When the song ended he stopped playing his guitar and got up from his chair never taking his eyes off me. I was broken out of my thoughts as I felt someone tugging on my shirt, I turned my head and saw that Darlene and Sophia were walking up the row, Colleen was trying to get me to come along.

"Come on, lets go look around," she said. I nodded my head and looked back up at Brian. He was still staring at me. Colleen grabbed my hand and dragged me up the isle. The whole time I didn't stop looking at him and neither did he, finally he was out of view, my heart was still beating fast. What was that all about?

While I was looking at him a whole new feeling had washed over me, a feeling that I usually only felt when I was with Jason, a feeling of love, of liking, of wanting. The feeling scared me, I couldn't like Brian like that and he couldn't like me. We were just friends but I couldn't really believe that anymore, I think I'm actually starting to like him.

"Danielle! What is up with you? Come on," Colleen said pulling me past girls and parents and toward some stands selling T-shirts and pictures.

"Sorry," I mumbled. I decided to push the thoughts of possibly liking Brian out of my head and tried to have fun and enjoy myself but the rest of the evening I couldn't get rid of those beautiful blue eyes that looked at me so intently, so....loving, out of my mind.
