Chapter 20

Danielle's View

2 Weeks Later

"Hey Lenny, Hey Ray," I smiled as I walked past the elevator on the top floor and took a seat on a bench next to the elevator.

"Hey Cutie, what are you up to?" Ray asked. I sat crossed legged and said, "Nothing really. I'm bored. Why are you guys up here? I thought you guys were supposed to be in the lobby?"

"It's too busy down there and besides it's better to watch the guys up here. We can actually stop people better up here," Lenny explained.

"Oh I get it, do you know where the guys are?" I asked.

"They're over at the radio station doing an interview. Didn't you know that?" Lenny asked.

"No, I don't know what they do everyday. I wake up and most of the time they're already gone. Brian usually wakes me up to see if I want to go but I guess he didn't today."

"Brian? He didn't go with the other guys today," Ray said.

"He didn't? Why not?" I asked.

"He didn't feel like it. I just saw him a couple minutes ago down the hall," Ray said.

"Really?" I asked. They just nodded.

"Oh OK, Cool."

"Aren't you a little cold?" Lenny asked.

I looked down at my white tank top and flare blue jeans and then looked back up at them shaking my head.

"Why not? It's freezing outside and it isn't that warm in here," Ray said.

I shrugged and said, "I dunno, I'm used to it. Hey I'm kind of hungry so I'm gonna go get some candy. You guys want anything?"

"No thanks, we just ate about an hour ago," Lenny said.

"All right, I'll talk to you guys later," I smiled and then got up off the bench and walked down the hall to the vending machine room. I dug in my pants for a dollar and then looked at the selection in the candy machine.

"You gotta be kidding," I mumbled looking at the last piece of candy. I sighed, put in the dollar, and pressed the buttons on the machine. The Milky Way bar then fell from it's position.

"Hey little lady!" I heard Brian exclaim walking into the room. I looked over and him and smiled, "Hey little man! What's up?"

"I'm here in search of the wonderful food of candy," he smiled cheesely.

I bent down, took out the candy bar and said, "Well sorry to inform you Brian but this is the last one."

"What? It was pretty much full last night!" he exclaimed pushing past me and looking at the empty machine.

"Oh no this can't happen!" he said. He then dropped to his knees, closed his eyes, and clamped his hands together, "Oh mighty Lord, please forgive Nick and AJ for raiding this poor old machine and sucking it dry from all it's fruitful food and please please please Lord send me some candy...I'm in desperate need of some..."

I looked at him as he babbled on the floor and burst out laughing. He opened one of his eyes and smiled up at me, "What?"

I held my stomach from laughing so hard and managed to get out, "You're insane!"

"And you're so sane...that's why it's perfect how we're friends!" he said jumping up off the floor and swinging his arm across my shoulders. He then extended his arm and looked up at the ceiling, "I can see it now...Danielle and Brian...Mighty super heroes!!! One insane...one sane! Put them together and the results can be dangerous...please do not try it at home."

I started to laugh hysterically again. I was beginning to even cry I was laughing so hard. Brian laughed at how I looked and said, "Am I funny?"

I looked at him and just laughed.

"I am aren't I?" he smiled widely.

"Yeah...funny looking!" I laughed.

"Oh...that was cold..." he said grabbing his chest and stumbling back. "I'm having a heartache..."

I rolled my eyes and giggled at him as he fell on his back and stuck his tongue out acting dead.

"You are so strange sometimes," I laughed shaking my head. He raised his head and looked at me, "This is how I get when I don't get candy."

"No, this is how you get when you drink one too many beers," I said. He looked at me wide eyed, jumped to his feet and then flexed his arms, "My dear lady, you must be mistaken! This body does not drink! There is no need for me to drink! You see...I'm Sir Brian...prince and knight of Littrell World! I fight crime, catch demons, and save the damsel in distress and you my dear...is the damsel in distress! My lady Danielle! I must save you!"

I looked at him and tried not to laugh, "From what may I ask?"

"From..." he stood there for a moment trying to think something up.

"Ah ha! From that gross little thing in your hands!" he exclaimed grabbing the Milky Way out of my hands and then dashing out of the room.

"Brian!" I yelled rushing out of the room after him. He raised the candy bar in the air and said, "Do not fear my lady! I will save this evil thing from thee!"

I ran down the hall after him and jumped on his back.

"MY LADY! THIS IS NOT VERY LADY LIKE!" He exclaimed trying to keep the candy bar out of reach.

"Well, Sir Brian, that was my candy bar first!"

"Nuh uh! It was mine! I had it on reserve! So boo ya!" he said trying to get me off his back. I held on and still tried to get the candy bar. Finally my hand wrapped around it and I yanked it out of his hands. I jumped off his back and ran the opposite way down the hall.

"Noooooo! Give it back! Give it back! I paid good money for that candy bar!" Brian yelled after me. I just laughed and kept on running.

Lenny's View

Ray and I have been hearing laughing and yelling for the past 10 minutes. We're assuming it's Brian and Danielle. I swear those two are always joking around and playing games.

"Should we go tell them to quiet down?" Ray asked.

"Nah, let them have their fun. Besides, it does them some good. They need to release that energy," I said. Ray just nodded.

"Brian! Brian! It's mine! I paid for it! I saw it first!" we heard Danielle scream. Just then Brian came running out in front of us with Danielle on his back trying to grab a candy bar. Ray and I looked at each other and then back at them.

Brian then went over to a bench, sat down, wiggled around until Danielle was off his back, and then jumped up.

"No fair!" Danielle pouted.

"Life isn't fair my dear, sorry to break it to ya!" Brian smiled. He then started to jump around pumping his arms in the air.

"I win! I win! I win!" he chanted. Danielle then sprang from the bench and jumped on him. Brian stumbled back and fell to the ground with Danielle sitting on top of him.

"I bet you $10 that they both like each other..." Ray said to me. I looked at the two wrestling on the floor and shook my head.

"I bet you $20 bucks they're in love with each other..." I said. Ray then looked at them for a few moments, smiled, and then said, "No...I bet you $50 dollars they're in love AND they get together before the end of the tour."

"HA! I got it!" Danielle squealed jumping up from the ground and running back down the hall. Brian jumped up and ran right after her.

"No..."

"What do you mean 'no'? I don't have anymore money to bet!"

"I'm not betting anything..." I said.

"Why not?" Ray asked.

"Because there's no point in betting when I think the same thing as you."

"So you're saying they do love each other and they will hook up?" Ray asked.

I smiled and then looked at him nodding my head, "Exactly."

Ray smiled also and patted my back saying, "You know...great minds think alike."
