Chapter 5

It was around 7 when they were ready. Jen came out of her room surprise to see how handsome Nick looked. He was wearing a pair of khaki pants with an olive green polo shirt, and his hair was slicked back. He looked amazing. As for Jen, she wore a black skirt with a 3/4 sleeve sweater. Her hair was half up and half down with little pieces hanging from the top.(Her bangs I guess you'd say?)

"Wow! You look great Jen."

"Thanks, you're looking pretty good yourself." She said blushing.

They drove to Jen's grandmother's house and they both got out of the car.

"Hey grandma." Jen said kissing her on the cheek. "This is Nick."

"Hello."

"Well, we gotta get going Grams, see ya later?"

"Sure, stay out as late as you want sweetie."

"Alright." THey left and drove to a nice restaurant.

"Order whatever you want Nick." Jen said while looking through the menu.

"No no no no no no. YOU order whatever you want Jen." Jen looked up and smiled. After looking through the menu for a bit, Jen still didn't know what she wanted.

"What are you gonna get?"

"Uhh, I was thinking about the Pasta Premavera..that sounds good." He replied.

"Mmmmm..I was thinking about the spagetti in clam sauce." (NOTE: I HATE, I MEAN DESPISE SPAGETTI!!!!!!)

"That sounds good." They ordered their good and spoke throughout dinner.

"Can we take a walk on the beach?" Nick asked after paying for their dinners.

"Geez, Nick, you really do like the beach.." Jen said sarcastically, "but, sure."

Jen and Nick drove to the boardwalk, got out, and walked along the water. They practically walked to the end of the boardwalk when they sat on a rock that overcame the ocean.

"Wow Nick, this is so beautiful." Jen spoke, about the full moon and starlite sky.

"Yea, just like you." He replied whispering in her ear. Jen turned and looking into his big blue eyes. Theyr faces inching closer and closer, until they felt each other's lips brush across their own. They opened their eyes and looked into each others while smiling.

"I'm sorry...I wanted to do that for a while.." Nick said with a smirk on his face.

"Don't be sorry.. I... I.. liked it." Jen replied back. Their lips met again. WHen they parted, Jen smiled and layed her head on Nick's shoulder, and watched the water brush back and forth on the shore.

"So, whatever happened to your parents, if you don't mind me asking." Nick asked playing with Jen's fingers that were entangled with his.

"They didn't think I was old enough to raise a child, which I actually wasn't, and they wanted me to get an abortion....and I couldn't cause I am against that." Jen replied.

"So you left?" He asked. She nodded. "Wow, so they don't even know they have a grandson?"

"Well, my grandparents told them, and i've sent pictures.. but I haven't heard from them since I moved out."

"What about your brothers or sisters?"

"I have a younger sister and my mother said that I'd be a bad example."

"oh.. " Nick replied, thinking how someone's parents could just throw their child out while she was pregnant. He just pushed his thoughts out of his head, and enjoued his last night with Jen.

At around 11ish, they decided to go home and watch a movie. After picking up Jayson, they drove hom and got into some comfy clothes. After assuring that Jay would stay asleep the rest of the night, they got cozzy on the couch. They decided to watch Ghost, but were asleep not even half way through the movie.

Nick woke up surprisingly to find Jen not laying in his arms. He got up and stretched before walking around to look for her. He first checked the kitchen, but she wasn't there. THen he checker her bedroom, but her bed was made. The next room he checked was the nursery. There sat Jen sound asleep with Jayson in her arms, sitting on the rocking chair.

"He must have woken up last night and I must not have felt Jen get up." He thought to himself. He then picked the baby up and put him back into the crib, before picking up Jen and carrying her to her bedroom and laying her on her bed. Jen stirred in her sleep, but never woke up. Nick smiled to himself, then kissed Jen's forehead and walked out into the living room. He decided to let Jen sleep for a little more, because it was only 8am. In the meantime, he took a shower and watched tv until Jayson woke up.

"Shhhh... It's okay.. Nicks here." He said walking into the kitchen bouncing up and down. He walking to the fridge to see if Jen had an already made bottle done. Once he found one, he heated it up in the microwave for 25 seconds. "shhhh.. its coming little buddy." He said soothingly.

Once the bottle was done, he tested it on his hand, then sat back down on the couch and fed him.

Jen woke up and noticed she was in her own bed. She walked out of the bedroom and saw Nick feeding her son. He was singing "Open Arms" by Journey quietly to him. Jen smiled to herslef and walked over to them and sat next to Nick, laying her head on his shoulder while he continued to feeding Jay.

Jen and Nick decided to go out for breakfast and then he would leave straight from there. When they got to the diner, they sat down in the booth. They played footsie while looking through the menu's.

"I'll call you when I get home okay?" Nick said embracing Jen. She nodded and then kissed him softly on the lips. They said their last goodbye's, then Nick kissed Jen lightly on the tip of her nose, then go into his truck and drove away.

Jen drove hom thinking about how much she already missed Nick, eventhough he had only been hone for 15 minutes. She felst so lonely, like something was missing. She knew she couldn't let him go. He became such a bif part of her life, within the little time she knew him. Jen knew Jay couldn't grow up without a father, it wasn't his fault he couldn't have on. She looked at her son who was looking around, and just pushed her thoughts aside and drove the rest of the way home.

"Oh man.. I miss her already!" Nick said to himself while running his fingers through his hair, and thinking of the past few days, and the exact moment they first kissed. She was everything to him, eventough they weren't exactly and item.. yet. There was something about her... But he couldn't figure it out. She was just everything he was looking for in a girl, maybe even more...
