Chapter 23
"Honey?" Nick asked opening up the shower door.
"AH!" Jen screamed holding her hand to her heart. "Scared me...yea?"
"What are you wearing?"
"My flowered GAP skirt and a white tank top."
"Ok.. I didn't know what to wear."
"Wear a pair
of jeans and that navy blue shirt from Armani." Nick nodded and left Jen
to finish.

"Bri? Hi it's me. We're coming down Pelican now so be outside so we don't have to beep the horn and wake Jordie up. Ok, see ya. Bye." Jen pressed end on the car phone and turned to Nick. "Are you sure this looks ok?"
"Yes, honey. It does."
"I feel so fat though." She whined.
"Baby, it
looks fine. I'm telling you! You can't even tell you had two kids." Nick
assured her. Jen gave him a look, but Nick just grabbed her hand and held it.

"Look at your belly!!" Jen screeched over the loud music.
"Stop it! I look like a whale!"
"Amanda! Stop it! You look beautiful." Amanda smiled at Jen, then brought her close for a hug.
"Thanks. How are your two?"
"A handful." She laughed.
"Hey sweetheart."
"Hey J." She embraced and kissed him on the cheek.
"I'm stealing
my woman from ya. Come on Baby let's go dance." He said taking her hand
and leading her to the dance floor where a few slow songs were playing.

"Okay, so we were visiting my parents at their beach house in Cali.. and it was Kevin, me and my parents. They took us to this bay area on their boat and we went water skiing. It was Kevin's turn and he was doing fine and my dad stopped the boat short and Kev fell in the water skidding down the whole way.. and when he came back up to the boat, his bathing suit was down a little bit." Kristen told everyone around the table. They were all discussing their embarrasing moments since they've last seen each other.. they somehow got caught up in this conversation.
"It wasn't funny, Kris." Everyone just laughed at how Kev was turning red.
"Okay, Okay. Should I even go into Stacie's?" Howie asked.
"I'll be right back." Jen said excusing herself.
"Where you going?" Nick asked grabbing her hand.
"Bathroom..wanna come?" She joked. Everyone stopped laughing and stared at them.
"Just joking." She said blushing and leaving Nick to deal with it.
As weird as it felt to go into the bathroom with no one in there, she couldn't hold it in anymore. Closing the stall behind her and going, she heard the door open.
'Good, someone else is in here with me.'She thought. Fixing her skirt, she flushed the toilet and grabbed her purse. Then walked out to wash her hands.
"There you are Bitch." Jen jumped back in fright.
"Uhh, do I know you?" She asked trying to seem calm. 'I knew I should've asked someone to come with me.'She thought, swallowing a lump in her throat.
"No."
"W---What do you want?"
"You dead.. and your little hubby Nicky." The woman all perked up in black pants and a black shirt pulled a gun from her back pocket.
"Look. I'll give you all my money.. how much do you want? I'm sure we can arrange something."
"I don't want your pitiful money..I just want you!...DEAD!" Jen tried to hold in the tears, but couldn't... her life was flashing before her eyes.
"Please." Jen whispered closing her eyes. "My children need me."
"STOP IT WITH the excuses Jen." The lady screamed, but got quieter as she ended.
"I--"
BANG!
Jen held her stomach as she saw the woman run for her own safety. Tears screaming down her cheeks, she hoped that someone would come into the bathroom and find her.
"Jen?" Leigh and Kristen called out opening the door slightly. When they didn't hear an asnwer, Kristen pushed the door open more.
"OH MY GOD! JEN? JEN? CAN YOU HEAR ME?" She screamed rushing over to her. "GO GET NICK. TELL SOMEONE TO CALL AN AMBULANCE!" Leigh hysterically crying ran out to get Nick. "It's gonna be okay, hang in there! Leigh went to get Nick." She cried.
*At same time*
"Oh my god! Nick, Jen.. Jen...." All it took was Nick to look at LeighAnne crying and saying his wife's name over again to jump up and run as fast as he could to the bathroom.
"JEN!" He screamed pushing the door open. "OH MY GOSH! BABY, PLEASE WAKE UP!! I NEED YOU! THE KIDS NEED YOU! DON'T LEAVE ME!" Nick screamed hysterically crying. He layed his head on her chest letting the tears fall free.
"Nick?" Jen called out in a whisper. Nick stopped crying for a few short seconds and lifted his head to look at his beautiful wife.
"Shhhh. Don't talk." He cried, trying to smile slight while rubbing her cheeks with the back of his hand. "Don't leave me, Baby. I need you. I can't do this without you, I love you."
"I love you too." She cried fighting so hard to stay awake.
"No. Don't say your goodbyes.. help's coming. I promise you, you'll make it through this. I love you." He cupped his hand on her face and kissed her lightly on the lips before seeing her eyes roll back into her head.
