Chapter 7
Never did I expect that I would gain so much support. I had only released my first single a month ago. Now, there were this group of people cheering for me. Even AJ, Howie, Kevin and Nick came to say 'Good luck'. But I knew someone's gestures would give more impetus to me. Even if no words were spoken, but a smile would represent everything.
I looked into the mirror and saw him walking towards me.
"Sam, I know you can do it," he held my hand and a feeling of warmth surged into my blood.
"You have my support. Don't let me down," he whispered in my ears. I garnered my courage and sauntered up the stage, saying 'Hi' to the crowd. The crowd got hysterically mad. I did my routine calmly. As long as I was concern, everything was perfect. Tears welled in my eyes hearing the fans singing along with me. When the time to say 'Goodbye' came, I couldn't bear to leave the stage but I had to. I said goodbye and went back to the backstage.
"You were flamboyant, Sam. Congrats," said Nick.
"Congratulations," was all that I heard. My eyes then caught Brian's. I could see that his eyes were gleaming with pride.
"You make me proud," he said with a smile.

Brian and I took an evening stroll at a lake garden. It was evening and the pale blue sky was furning orange. Although I had came here for many times before, I felt that the atmosphere was somehow different today. The gentle fragrance of wild flowers laced the air.
"Can you feel it? The smell of ferus and rotting leaves merge with the sweet fragrance of flowers," I said.
"Yeah. And dry leaves rustle in the gentle evening breeze. The hassle and bassle of the city live, the throngs of people, the congested traffics and polluted air, all seem distant and unreal."
We stood by the lake. I picked up a pebble stone and tossed it onto the placid water, watching it bobbed up and down.
"You see, the tranquility of the water evoked an aura of inner peace within my soul."
Brian crooned, "These arms of mine are opened wide, from now until the end of time. You are my world, what can I do, this heart of mine belongs to you."
I sat back on a huge rock and Brian joined me.
"You bite fingernails."
"I can't get rid of the habit."
The sunlight crept across the lake, making it sparkled.
"You love your job, Sam?"
"I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing now if I don't love it."
"You're now just steps away from the peak of your career. Work hard. Your album will be released in a few weeks time."
"Even if I failed, I would not rue over what I had done."
"How do you now that you are in love with someone?"
"When you're standing in a rowdy crowd, the person who came to your mind is the person you love."
