Chapter 2

"I'm sure your bad dreams are probably all about me. You're better off without me. If I could get another chance I'd pu-" I sang along to 'Lit' before I was interrupted by Kevin. He opened up my curtain and didn't say a word.

"Yes, Kev?" I asked wanting to know why he had disturbed me.

"Just wanted to let you know we're making a pit stop and I wanted to know if you'd like to go for a walk." Wow ... bonding time with Kevin, eh?

"Sure, Kev. Just give me a sec." I said removing the headphones from my head. I tied my sneakers and hopped out of my bunk injuring myself in the process. Yup, that's right, Lindsay is hurt. I guess I landed on my ankle the wrong way and felt this jolt of pain shoot through my leg. "Owwww." I said softly as I tried to stand up with Howie's assistance. "Thanks D."

"No problem. Do you want ice or something?" He asked walking towards the fridge.

"Howie, I'm fine. I'm going for a walk with Kevin. I'll just work it out." I said walking towards the door. Howie shook his head as if knowing I'd hurt myself during my little walk.

~In Rest Area~

"Nick, what are you doing in there?" Brian asked walking into the shop Nick was in. Nick was eyeing up shelves filled with candy. "Nick, Fatima will kill you. We're gonna be doing a lot of practicing," Brian explained.

"Oh, c'mon, I'm just...getting something...for...Lindsay. Yeah, Lindsay." Nick said hoping Brian wouldn't bug him anymore.

"Yeah, sure Frack. Get the Butterfinger for yourself and let's go." Brian said walking towards the cash register. Nick picked up a butterfinger and a bag of skittles for me :)

The two walked out of the shop and back towards the bus. "Nick, I gotta talk to you about Lindsay." Brian said seriously. Nick looked at him as he was tearing into the candy wrapper.

"Yeah?" Nick said trying to get the candy bar out of the wrapper.

"Nick, it's serious. You should really pay attention." Nick stopped what he was doing and looked at Brian squarely.

"B...is there something going on? Is there something wrong with her?" Nick asked quickly.

~Kevin and I walking~

"So, Kev why the sudden urge to take a walk?" I asked walking slowly. No one knew about my little fall except for Howie and I wanted to keep it that way.

"I just thought we could talk. I mean, there's a lot going on in your life right now. The tour, the crazy schedule, your album is coming out, and Nick." Kevin began.

"What about Nick?" Was he trying to tell me something?

"Well, I was reading some of your music and-"

"Was it bad? I know some things I write just come out and I don't even think before I start copying them down-" I began speaking quickly.

"Linds, calm down. I just mean some of your lyrics are really...really...

deep. Like, it seems a lot of the lyrics relate to love and-"

"Aren't most songs about love? My can be about that too."

"I know, it's just...you like tell a story when you write. Like, when I read the lyrics I can picture you and Nick together." Wow, is he serious?

~In The Bus~

"These are really good. Did she write all these?" Nick asked reading through my book.

"Yeah. Do you realize what they're about?" Brian asked hoping Nick could tell what I was feeling through the words on the paper.

"Actually, you may not believe it, but I do." Nick glanced at the papers again. Basically, all the songs I write are pertained to me. If I went through something in my life, it was bound to be written into a song. So, why wouldn't I write about my feelings for Nick?

~Kevin and I (Outside The Bus)~

"Kevin, I can walk. It's OK." Howie was right! We were walking and this car came speeding towards me, so I moved out of the way, but stepped into a pot hole and twisted my right ankle again. Kevin had let me lean on him. He kinda dragged me back towards the bus. I limped up the stairs making sure I wouldn't cry because of the unbearable pain. I got to the top step and hopped my way to a seat. Kevin got some ice and as soon as the refrigerator door opened, Brian and Nick strolled out of the entertainment room.

"Put this on. I'm gonna go get a towel and some pillows." Kevin said walking past Nick and Brian. Nick stood there staring at my swollen ankle.

"Linds, are you OK?" Brian asked kneeling down to get a good look at my ankle. I looked up and my eyes met Nick's. All of a sudden, I could see pain in his eyes and he rushed over to my side. He hugged me and let me rest my head against his shoulder. He knew I was about to cry and tried to comfort me. Brian looked at the two of us and smiled. He bumped into Kevin as he was bringing some pillows and a towel to me. Brian took the towels and gave Kevin a look. Kevin nodded and walked to the back room.

~Next Morning (2:30 am)~

Ring! Ring! Ring! I woke up to hear my cell phone ringing. I was still sitting in the seat I was in earlier with my leg propped up. Nick was practically draped across the floor hanging onto my left hand. I smiled and reached over to pick up the cell phone from the floor.

"Hello?" I asked sleepily.

"Good morning Lindsay..." a familiar voice said sarcastically.
