Chapter 11
I ran out of Lou's house not knowing where to go. I walked till I got to the corner of the street. I sighed and began thinking of what just happened.
~Nick's POV~
"What the...what the hell are you doing?" I asked removing the girl's hand from my thigh.
"What's wrong? I thought you'd enjoy it." She said seductively.
"I don't even know who you are."
"Lou is my uncle. My name is Liz."
"Well, Liz, I have a girlfriend and I think it's about time I go look for her." I said trying to exit the booth. I walked away and bumped into AJ. "AJ, have you seen Lindsay?" I asked glancing around the dance floor.
"Nick, I just saw her run out of here. What the hell were you doing? She looked really upset and I tried to get her attention, but she didn't hear me."
"God damnit!" I yelled. She could be anywhere!
~My POV~
"Why do I always get hurt?" I asked out loud knowing no one was in the hotel room with me. "Can't you give me a break?!" I yelled tilting my head up and looking at the ceiling as if speaking to God. I grabbed my duffel bag of clothes and gathered all my other belongings getting ready to leave the room. Then the door opened and Nick appeared.
"Thank God I found you. Where have you been? I've been loo- wait, what's going on? Why are you packing everything up?" Nick asked glancing at the almost empty room noticing only his clothes scattered across the floor.
"Nick, I saw what was going on with that girl in the booth and I think we'd be better off if I was out of your way. Then you could do as you please." I said beginning to walk out of the room.
"Why are you doing this to me?" He asked quietly.
"Why am I doing this to YOU? Why are you doing this to ME?! Do you know how much it hurt seeing you with that girl?"
"Lindsay, you won't even let me explain! It's not what it looked like." He said trying to get me to listen.
"Nick, please save it. Either way, I think we just need to take some time off for a little while-" I began.
"Lindsay, we haven't seen each other in a few weeks, I finally get to spend time with you, and you are pushing me away?!" Nick had a point there. I dropped my bags and sat down on the bed, patting the spot next to me. He nodded and sat down.
"Nick, over the time we haven't seen each other, I've changed. You've only been with me for a couple days and you haven't seen the pain I've been through. You shouldn't have to put up with me. There's a lot of stuff you don't know about and it's not fair to you. I'd rather go through this by myself. The tour is almost over and then I will hopefully be able to go back to my good old self. As much as it hurts me to say this, for now, I think we should go our separate ways. I still love you, but I think it would be a good idea if you found someone new." I said solemnly. It took a lot for me to actually say that.
"Lindsay, I can't believe you are telling me this."
"Nick, it's been a great few months, but I think you deserve a girl who will treat you better and maybe even give you some ass." I joked trying to lighten up the situation.
"Lindsay, that was never a problem-"
"Shhh...I know. You respect me, yadda, yadda, yadda." I said placing my finger on his lips. I leaned in and kissed him softly on the cheek. "I love you very much and once I figure everything out, I'll give you a call." I paused and looked down at our hands and noticed the gold friendship bands we wore. "Best friends, right?" I asked looking up at him as tears began to fall from my eyes. Nick nodded and we hugged one last time. I exited the room quietly and walked out to the bus. I threw my bags in my bunk and walked back into the hotel in search of the other guys.
~At The Same Time~
~Nick's POV~
Knock! Knock! Knock! "Coming." a male voice yelled. I was standing outside one of the hotel rooms looking for Todd, that dancer that was friends with Lindsay. I was hoping this was his room since I knocked on everyone else's and this was the last one. "Ummm...Hi Nick." Todd said opening the door.
"Hi Todd. Can I talk to you?" Todd nodded and opened the door wider, so I could enter.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" Todd asked noticing the solemn expression on my face.
"Lindsay and I...we broke up." I said quietly wishing I didn't have to say those words.
"Oh my God! She must be heart broken. Where is she?" Todd asked quickly.
"Todd, chill. I don't know where she is. She kinda broke up with me but that's besides the point. I need to ask you some things." Todd nodded his head again. "She said she's been through so much pain, what does she mean?"
"I don't know if I should be telling you this..." Todd said not really wanting to tell Nick.
"C'mon, I'm her-I was her boyfriend and this is why she broke up with me."
"OK, OK. Well, after her brother's accident she started crying herself to sleep. She had no one to talk to. She wouldn't let anyone talk to her. She told me later, she didn't want anyone involved. Then she decided to change herself, she dyed some of her hair blue and then for some reason she wasn't eating. Everyone noticed it, but no one never said anything. She lost some weight and then after one show, she fainted. She hadn't eaten for a little over a week and her body wore out. She was really hurting herself and I told her that, so now she's eating more. Then another day, she came into rehearsal with a white bandage around her left wrist. Fatima and I noticed it and I questioned her about it." Todd said recalling the days.
"And?" I asked confused as to why Lindsay would hurt herself.
"She...Nick, she tried to kill herself. I don't know why. All she
said is she can't handle thing like she used to and that's the only way she knows how to do it. She doesn't like to tell everyone about what has happened to her. I don't even know." Todd said solemnly.
"I can't believe she did that. Why would she try to commit suicide?"
I asked as I felt a tear form in my eye.
~Kevin's Hotel Room~
~My POV~
"Thanks for everything, Kev." I said as I hugged him tightly.
"Nick better not act all weird now that you're gone. You should have seen him when you left the tour-" Howie began.
"OK, OK, don't make me feel any worse now." I said sarcastically.
"Sorry." He said quietly.
"Well, feel better, Linds. Call any of us if you need anything."
Kevin said as we hugged. "And take care of yourself." He said seriously as we pulled out of the hug. I nodded and gave Howie my last hug. I waved goodbye and walked to the elevator. I had already said goodbye to AJ and Brian and that was really hard on me. I got into the elevator and leaned against the wall. At the moment the tears began to fall.
