Chapter 14
'Lindsay,
We had a long talk and everything, but you didn't really tell me what is actually bothering you. I am worried about you and I don't want anything to happen to you. You can trust me. I don't want you hurting inside 'cuz you think you have no one to talk to. I am here for you and I know all the guys would be more than willing to help you with anything you need. It hurt me when I saw the cuts on your arm. I don't see why you would do something like that. Please just open up to me. You mean so much and I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you. I love you so much and once everything is cleared up, I hope we can start our relationship over.
Love always,
Your Nick'
I smiled as a tear rolled down my cheek. That meant a lot. I actually felt like I could finally talk to someone. I never felt like that before. I have never told people exactly what I was feeling. I looked up and saw Nick's figure. I waved, blew him a kiss, and shut my light off. After closing the door to my balcony, I got comfy on my bed and immediately fell asleep.
The next day I told Nick everything that was bothering me. The guys and I even talked and it was really helpful. I was feeling a lot better and I tried surrounding myself with good people. They made me forget about my problems and they made me feel somewhat important. Leigh and I have been hanging out a lot. She's a lot of fun. Today we were going shopping. She says I need new clothes.
"This is cute. Try it on." Leigh said tossing a shirt my way.
"No way. My boobs will fall out of it. It's way too revealing." I said looking at the shirt.
"What's wrong with attracting a little attention? Just try it on." Leigh said almost begging. I sighed and carried it around with me while we searched for other things to try on.
"Let's see the goods, Linds." Leigh called outside of the dressing room. I laughed and opened the door slowly a little afraid 'cuz I wasn't wearing much. Leigh immediately smiled. "You should definitely get it. It looks really good." I looked at myself in the mirror. It didn't look bad on me. I was a dark blue shirt with cap sleeves, a low neck line, and the hem just reached the top of my pants.
When we left the mall, Leigh had bought two skirts, and three new shirts. I had bought a new pair of black pants, a khaki skirt, and four shirts. I dropped Leigh off at Brian's house and drove back to my humble abode. Pulling into the driveway, I saw no one was home. I turned off my car and walked to the door with the few shopping bags I had. As I stepped into the house, my beeper went off. It was Lou. I dropped my bags, pet my dogs, and called him. "Hey Pam, it's Lindsay, Lou just paged me." I said as Pam answered the phone.
"Sure, hold on." I waited patiently for Lou to answer the phone.
"Lindsay?" Lou asked in a quick breath.
"Yeah, what's up?" I asked as I let my dogs out into the backyard.
"Well, the Boys are here, and they're deciding on the last song to complete their album. They want your help and Brian mentioned that you two wrote a song. We'd like to see if we can do something with that." Lou said hopefully.
"Oh ok, when do you want me down there?"
"Are you busy now?"
"OK, I'll be there in fifteen minutes. Bye." I let the dogs back in and jogged outside to my car. The drive to the studio was quick considering I probably broke all the speed limits. I was really excited to help the guys with their album and the fact that Brian mentioned that song that we wrote was really cool of him. I quickly walked towards the room Pam directed me to. The guys were all sitting around a table with sheets of music in front of them. "Hey guys." I said making them all look up at me.
After a few minutes, it was just the six of us, and pages upon pages of music. "What are you thinking, Linds?" Brian asked as I read through the music.
"Some of these are a little sappy." I said placing some music off to my right. "These just aren't you." I said tossing papers to my left. "I'm diggin' these three songs." I said spreading out the pages in front of the guys. They glanced at them and nodded. "What are you guys thinking?" I asked sitting back in the chair.
"I like 'Don't Let Go'." Kevin said speaking of the ballad that would definitely sound beautiful with their harmonies.
"I'm feeling this one." AJ said pointing to 'Walk Away' which was a harder, dance song.
"Personally, I'm kinda partial to this one." Brian said placing the sheet music for our song on the table. I laughed.
"It's not even finished." I said glancing at the paper.
Two hours later Brian and I had laid down the vocals for the song we wrote. I was surprised out how quick it went. We were now listening to a rough copy of the song. I glanced around the room seeing the rest of the guys bopping their heads to the beat and all the producers were sitting there listening intently. As the song faded out, I looked up to see everyone looking at me. "You are one talented young lady." Phil, one of the producers, said.
"Thanks." I said surprised.
"I'm thinking this could be the song." Nick said smiling as though he was proud of me. Everyone in the room nodded. I glanced at my watch seeing I should get home and make dinner.
"I gotta go now. You all can decide. It was a pleasure working with you guys." I said giving everyone hugs goodbye. I waved and exited the room, walking quickly to my car. As I approached my car I noticed a guy struggling to remove instruments from his car. "Would you like some help?" I asked cautiously walking towards the tall man.
"Sure." He said glancing at me. I didn't really look at him, I just helped him remove some guitar cases from the car.
"You play?" I asked setting down the last case.
"Yep. I'm in a band. We just got signed...By the way, I'm Adam." He said finally looking up at me. He stretched his hand out and I shook it.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Lindsay." I said as we shook hands.
"Ah, I knew you looked familiar. Pop star, Lindsay, eh?" He said removing his sunglasses.
"If that's what you wanna call it. Yeah, that's me." I said noticing his green-blue eyes. His hair was gelled, but it looked like a dark brown color with some red coloring in there. He was also quite tall, just a little shorter than Nick. We grabbed the guitar cases and brought them into the lobby.
"Well, thanks a lot, Lindsay. It was nice meeting you. I'll get someone else help me with these." Adam said sticking his hands in his pockets. As we were talking I noticed Nick out of the corner of my eye. He was fishing through his pockets for his keys and when he looked up, he saw me talking with Adam. I could tell by the look on his face, he had the wrong impression. After I was finished with Adam, I jogged over to his Durango and started tapping on the window.
