Chapter 11

Brian's View

I opened my eyes slowly and looked down finding that Tiffany wasn't there in my arms. I rolled over and looked at the clock: 9:15. I sighed and got out of bed. I headed downstairs and to the kitchen and found Tiffany at the table drinking a glass of orange juice.

"Morning," I said kissing her on the forehead and getting a glass out of the cupboard and getting the orange juice out of the refrigerator.

"Morning," she said taking another sip of her drink.

I sat next to her and smiled, "The cabin's really quiet."

"That could be because everyone's gone."

"Even Michelle?"

"No not Michelle. She's still sleeping. Her and Nick must have had a long night."

"Guess so," I laughed.

"So what are we going to do today?"

"I was hoping we could go out walking but it looks to cold and I don't want to get Michelle sick so I figured we could play games and just talk. I even want to make you guys lunch."

"You cook?" she smirked.

"I can cook! My mom taught me," I said defending myself.

"The last time you cooked you burnt everything."

"I learned more ever since then OK?"

"OK I was just playin' with you!" she laughed.

"You play to much."

"It's because you're to easy to pick on."

I stuck my tongue out at her.

"Are you mad at me?" she asked sticking out her bottom lip.

"No, I was only playin' with you too," I smiled.

"Ha ha very funny," she said rolling her eyes. She looked around and then she said, "You know what I just noticed?"

"What?"

"That this is a really really big cabin. I mean it's huge! We got our own couch's in our room's for God's sake!"

"It is big isn't it? You can blame that on Kevin. He rented the place. He said that it's worth about 750,000 dollars or so."

"Damn," she said looking at me.

"I know," I smiled.

"So I guess we can't burn it down. I was looking so forward to that," she sighed.

I just laughed. She hasn't changed one bit!

"Mommy?" I heard a quiet voice coming from upstairs. I looked at Tiffany and I think she heard it to because she looked towards the stairs.

"Do you want to go get her?" she asked looking at me.

"Sure I can do that," I smiled getting up. I walked up the stairs and to Nick's room. I opened the door and saw Michelle sitting up right in her bed. Pillows and blankets were surrounding her. I'm guessing they were there so she wouldn't fall off the bed at night. Now you can really tell Nick has been in here because food and clothes were everywhere. I smiled to myself and walked over to the bed.

"Hey angel!" I said picking her up.

"Hi daddy!" she smiled.

"How are you this morning?" I asked heading out the door and going downstairs.

"Good!"

"That's good, so are you hungry?"

"Yep!"

"Hey baby how are you this morning?" Tiffany asked Michelle after we entered the kitchen.

"Good!"

"What do you want for breakfast?" Tiffany asked standing up.

"Pop tart!"

"I figured you would want that," she smiled. Tiffany took out a box of pop tarts and took out one. I put her in her high chair and sat down.

"Are you sure she can eat those? Isn't she to young?" I asked.

"Yeah she loves pop tarts. I don't give her the entire thing. She is still a baby. I give her little pieces at a time."

"Doesn't she eat baby food?"

"No, she doesn't like it for some reason. She refuses to eat it. I think it's because she doesn't want to be a baby. She's in a hurry to grow up. That's why she can talk pretty good and why she can walk real well. She's a very quick learner. She's a very bright child."

"I have noticed that she is pretty advanced for her age."

"Yeah the doctors say that they have a couple of babies that are exactly like Michelle. He even told me that a one-year-old learned her ABC's and 123s just in one week. It's amazing! When I was a year old I was just learning how to say simple words that babies usually learn."

"I guess we were lucky to get a smart child like Michelle."

"Yeah we were," she said looking at me smiling.

Tiffany finished feeding her and then let Michelle roam free around the house.

"Do you watch her to make sure she's not doing anything she shouldn't?" I asked watching Michelle run off.

"Yeah I do but I don't have to watch her to closely. She's smart enough to know what she's not supposed to do," she said getting up and putting her glass in the sink.

"Do you ever miss not being a mother and having to take care of someone?"

"Yeah sometimes but I like taking care of Michelle. She's part of my life and I don't know what I would do if I didn't have to dress, feed, or watch a little baby. I'm used to doing those things so much that it would be way way to weird not doing them but yeah I miss just going out with my friends alone or dating a guy that wouldn't run away from me once I tell them I have a child."

"Guys would do that to you?"

"Yeah all the time."

"Guys are asshole's nowadays," I said shaking my head. If those guys were right here and now they would get the beating of their life.

"Yeah they are," she said going into the living room. I got up and followed her.

"Do you want me to put on a fire?" I asked.

"Yeah can you do that? I'm gonna go get dressed," she said starting to walk up the stairs.

"Yeah," I smiled heading over to the fireplace.

15 Minutes Later

Tiffany came down the stairs in blue jeans and a red sweater. Her hair is half up and she has a pair of Keds on.

"Hey," she smiled sitting next to me on the couch.

"Hey," I smiled back.

"You can go get dressed if you want."

"Yeah I was just going to do that," I said getting up and going up the stairs.

Tiffany's View

I sat there waiting for Brian to come back down. Michelle came running out of a room toward me. She jumped on the couch and sat on my lap.

"Hi there!" I smiled.

"HI!"

"You're still in your PJ's. Do you want to get dressed?"

"Yeah!" she said getting up and running up the stairs. I got up and followed her. She stopped at Brian's room and mine and started to open the door. I ran to stop her but she already went in. I walked in the room and found Michelle on Brian's lap. He didn't have a shirt on but he did have baggy blue jeans and his shoes on.

I walked over to him and said, "I'm sorry!"

"It's OK," he laughed.

"I was just going to get her dressed and I guess she knew her cloths were in here," I smiled a little embarrassed.

"It's fine. It's not like you haven't seen me without my shirt."

"Yeah I know," I slightly smiled.

"Do you need help?" he asked putting on a black sweater.

"If you want to help," I said picking up Michelle's suitcase and opening it.

"Can I pick out her outfit?" he asked looking in the case.

"If you want," I said taking Michelle's nightshirt off and putting it to the side.

"How about this," he asked holding up a red velvet dress with white tights and a pair of nice black shoes.

"If that's what you want her to wear," I said taking them from him.

"I think she would look cute in it," he shrugged.

Brian's View

"Let's ask Michelle. Do you want to wear this? Daddy picked it out," she said showing Michelle the red velvet dress.

"Yeah!" Michelle said nodding her head.

"Want to do the honors?" she asked me.

"Uh I don't know…"

"Come on it's quite easy."

"OK," I said taking the dress from her.

I put it on Michelle and then the tights. It wasn't that easy but I did it.

Tiffany put her shoes on and curled Michelle's hair and then put it in butterfly clips.

"There we go," Tiffany said setting Michelle down. She ran off and I smiled. She's so beautiful. Just like her mother.

"So how does she look?" Tiffany asked looking at me.

"She looks great! I tell you I have good taste in picking out cloths."

She just rolled her eyes and got up.

"It's true!" I laughed following her out the door and down the stairs.

"C'mon! Admit I did a great job dressing her," I said sitting next to her on the couch.

"OK! You did a wonderful job for your first time. Happy now?"

"Yes I am thank you very much," I smiled.

"So what are you planning on doing today with us?"

"I told you already."

"Yeah but what games are we going to play?"

"I don't know! I'll think of something, just wait."

"OK then what are you cooking us?"

"Macaroni and cheese and something else."

"You and your macaroni and cheese," she laughed.

"Yep me and my macaroni and cheese," I smiled.

"Daddy will you play Barbies with me?" Michelle asked coming down the stairs will Barbie and Ken in her hands.

"Sure what do you want me to play? Ken, Skipper, a baby?"

"Ken!"

"OK what's the story with Ken?"

"He's the boyfriend!"

"I know how to play this part!" I smiled at Michelle and then at Tiffany.

"Good!" she said taking my hand and pulling me.

"OK! I coming," I said getting up and following Michelle up the stairs.

I looked back at a smiling Tiffany and smiled. I'm probably the happiest man alive right now. I mean I have the woman I love and my daughter wants to play with me. I thought Michelle would be shy around me and not want to do anything but she wants to do a lot of things with me. I'm in heaven and I never want to leave.
