Chapter 24
Tiffany's View
I walked back into the house slowly. Nick just left because he needed to be alone for a while. He said he would call me tomorrow. So I have to wait and see how he's doing.
"Tiff?" Darlene asked walking over to me.
I looked up at her and asked, "Yeah?"
"Is Nick OK?" she asked looking worried.
"He's going to call me tomorrow, so I'll know then," I said trying to smile. I felt so bad for him.
"OK but what happened?"
"Oh! He doesn't want me to tell you," I said.
"K," she said walking back into the living room.
I walked into the kitchen to find Brian with his head in his hands. I slowly sat right across from him. He looked up at me and frowned.
"Tiffany I…" he sighed. "I didn't mean to make you or Nick mad." I looked down at my hands.
"I'm really sorry. I just wanted to help," he said softly. I looked up at him and he was looking sadly at me. I got up and went over to his chair. I motioned for him to scoot out a little bit and then I sat down on his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him.
"I'm sorry," he whispered in my ear. He was hugging me tight.
"It's OK," I said.
"Are you sure?" he asked pulling away and looking into my eyes.
"I'm sure. I just over reacted."
"No you didn't," he said shaking his head.
"Yes I did," I said looking away form him.
"No," he said grabbing my face softly and turning it to his face, "You didn't."
I slightly smiled, "K"
"Mommy?" Michelle asked coming into the kitchen.
"Yeah?" I asked looking at her.
"I'm hungry," she said holding her stomach.
"OK," I said starting to get up.
"Wait!" Brian said.
I looked at him curiously and asked, "What?"
He got up and said, "I'll cook dinner."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah! It the least I could do," he said smiling at me.
"K," I shrugged and walked out of the kitchen and towards the living room. Darlene was there watching Titanic.
"Hey!" I said sitting next to her on the couch.
"Hey," she mumbled looking at the TV.
"What's wrong?" I asked concerned.
She sighed and then said, "My life sucks."
"Why? You just met Nick Carter! The love of your life!"
"He doesn't like me," she mumbled.
"How do you know?"
"I just do! By the way he was acting around me. He didn't even say bye."
"Darlene he does to like you!"
"How do you know?" she asked looking at me.
"I just do! I am his best friend."
She rolled her eyes at me and said, "I'm not going to believe something that you think he's thinking."
"You don't have to but it is a fact that he likes you," I said looking at the TV.
"Are you serious?" she asked looking at me shocked.
"Yupperoo!"
"REALLY!?" she asked getting up off the couch.
"Yes really," I laughed looking at her.
She shrieked and jumped up and down; "I can't believe it!"
"Calm down!" I laughed.
"Calm down!? You just told me that Nick likes me and you expect me to me calm!? Nick actually likes me!" she yelled jumping up and down. I just laughed.
"What's going on?" Brian asked looking at Darlene weirdly.
"Nothing," I laughed looking at him.
"O…K," he said. "Dinners ready."
"K," I said getting up.
"C'mon Darlene!" I laughed heading to the kitchen. She followed right behind me. We ate dinner and went to bed about 3 hours later. Today has been very interesting! Wouldn't you agree?
