Chapter 28
Darlene's View
We just arrived at the restaurant Nick wanted to go to. I don't know what it's called though. Something like Ric's but I'm not sure.
Nick opened my door and held out his hand. I took it and said 'thank you.' He smiled and closed the door. He lead me to the entrance and opened the door. I walked in front of him while he walked in behind me.
"Hello! How may I help you?" A girl said at the front.
"Um hi! We need a table for two. Nonsmoking," Nick smiled.
"OK right this way," the girl said getting two menus and leading us toward the back. She set the menus down on the table and said, "Enjoy your dinner."
"Thanks," Nick said. I sat in the booth and Nick sat next to me.
"Hi! How are you this evening?" a waitress said coming up to our table.
"Fine thank you," I smiled.
"Can I get you two a drink?" she asked.
"Yeah I'll have a coke," Nick smiled.
"I'll have a lemonade," I said.
"K, I'll be right back," she said walking off.
"Do you see anything you like?" Nick asked.
"Um I don't know yet. I haven't been able to look," I smiled.
"Oh sorry," he said.
"It's OK," I smiled.
"Here you go," the waitress said setting down our drinks.
"Are you ready to order?"
"Um no. We need a couple more minutes," Nick said.
"Okie dokie," she smiled.
10 Minutes Later
"Thanks, Nick said after the waitress. We just got our food and we were getting ready to eat it. I got chicken breast and Nick got steak and ribs.
"Are you going to eat all that?" I asked to Nick who was cutting his steak.
"Yeah why?" he asked looking at me.
"Nothing," I said. I was trying not to laugh.
"What's so funny?" he asked smiling.
"It's just that that's a lot of food," I said pointing to his plate.
"To you it is because you're a girl."
"Whatever!"
"It's true! You're just like Tiffany. Whenever we go out to eat she always asks the same question."
"I thought Tiffany..."
"We go out to dinner as friends," he said.
"Oh OK," I said.
"Do you like Florida so far?"
"Yeah I love it here! It's just so humid here!"
"I know but you get used to it," he said.
"Yeah I'm kind of getting used to it. The first day I was going to dye!"
Nick started to laugh.
"It's not funny!" I smiled.
"OK," he chuckled.
We soon finished our dinner and Nick paid the bill. We are now back int he car going to the movies to see a new movie that Matt Daemon is in. I can't wait to see it. I love Matt Daemon even though his name is the same as my last boyfriend's name. OMG! Darlene don't even start thinking about him!
"We're here," Nick said parking in the parking lot.
"Oh good!" I said. He got out and went over to my side. He opened the door and smiled at me. I got out and waited for him to close the door. He took my hand and led me to the entrance. He bought two tickets and then we went into the theater. We sat down and talked until the movie started. When it did start Nick put his arm around my shoulder. AAHH! I'm so in heaven right now! I never ever want this night to end!
