Chapter 11

December 27th 7:30 am

"Thank you so much Mrs. Littrell, for EVERYTHING, you made my birthday really really special." I thanked Mrs. Littrell for about the thousandth time in the last 20 minutes. We are getting ready to head out on the road to start our long drive down to Clarksville. Brian and Kevin both rented cars, so they wouldn't be leaving their cars for months on end at my little old house. So, I am going to ride with Kevin in the morning, he said that we needed 'bonding' time or something, and I'm all for it. Nick and Brian are going to ride together in Brian's rented car in the morning. Then around noon after lunch, we switch, Nick with Kevin and me with Brian, Brian says he has some things to tell me and he wants us to be alone when he tells me, whatever that means.

"Don't worry about it, it was nice having a girl around the house, I enjoyed your company, your parents raised you really well, all I get from the guys is 'Christy this and Christy that' but experiencing it first hand, I can now say I know what they mean!! Come back ANYTIME and don't forget you can call me if you ever need anything." Mrs. Littrell said to me, making sure that I understood her.

"Okay, thank you so much!!"

"Now go, you don't want to have to stop tonight because you're tired and can't make the rest of the drive!!" She said laughing.

"Bye!!" I waved as I got into Kevin's car.

She stayed and watched and waved until the two cars rounded the corner and couldn't be seen anymore.

"So, Christy, I think it's time that you and I talked." Kevin said

"Okay, what do you want to talk about??" I asked

"Your relationship with Nick…"

"So there, you see, Nick and my relationship is strictly platonic, it couldn't be something more, that would be like me and my closest male relative getting together. Don't get me wrong, Nick is really cute and sweet and everything that I'd want in a guy but it just wouldn't work between us." I stated in a plain-and-simple type attitude. Kevin and I had just finished a 3 hour long conversation on why Nick and I don't get together.

"Okay, Christy, I get it, I won't say anything about it anymore." He said to me with a smirk on his face.

"What??" I asked

"Oh, nothing that you won't find out in due time my dear, nothing at all. What do ya say we call the other two and stop somewhere for lunch??" Kev asked.

"NOW that is a subject I never get tired of talking about" I said as I pulled out the cell phone and dialed the all too familiar number of Nick's cell.

After lunch-

"Okay, so, we'll all meet up in about 6 hours at Denny's to eat dinner and then we'll drive on down to my old house, got it??" I asked making sure everyone knew the plans for the rest of the day.

"Got it chief" Nick said with a mock salute.

"Funny, Carter, really funny, now get moving!!" I gave Nick a quick friendly hug and walked to the other car.

With that, we each got into the respective vehicles we were going to be in the rest of the day and were off.

"So, Christy…" Brian started our conversation.

"So, Brian, what did you HAVE to tell me??" I asked, getting strait to the point, I'm not one to dwindle and wait around I like pin pointing the topic and then the small talk.

"its about Nick…" Brian started but I cut him off.

"GOSH, what is it with everyone butting in on mine and Nick's business, our relationship is ONLY PLATONIC!!!!!" I yelled, and then looked at Brian who had a look of shock on his face.

"Ooookkay….actually I wanted to ask you something about a business problem we are having." Brian said, trying to find his voice after the shock I caused him with my sudden outburst.

"I'm sorry Bri, go ahead, it's just everyone seems to think that Nick and I are…well…nevermind, go ahead with the question." I said apologetically

"Okay, Nick said you liked to dance?" he asked and stated.

"Yeah, I've been dancing since I was three, I've taken anything from ballet to jazz to tap to modern dance to latin dancing, you name it at one point in time I've probably taken it." I said with a cheery grin knowing that my outburst would soon be forgotten.

"Well, the dancer in our show that dances with Nick is getting married and is taking 3 shows off and we need a replacement." Brian said, hoping that I would get the point.

"And…you want me to fill in….Brian, I don't know, I'm NO professional, and well, can't you just go to some agency and ask them for a dancer???" I asked uncertainty not hidden from my voice.

"See, that the thing, normally we'd have Fatima, our choreographer look for someone. But when Nick found out Jenny was getting married he refused to dance with anyone else, Jenny and him worked for months to perfect it because of their height difference, Nick being really tall and Jenny being fairly short. Nick doesn't want to do that again." Brian explained

"And, Jenny is my height right??" I asked.

"Yes, you and Jenny are almost exactly a height match, and well, you've been to enough rehearsals to get a basis as to what the routines are, so will you???" Brian asked

"Yeah, I guess, what do I have to do?"

"Well, you start rehearsing with Fatima on January 5th and then the 11th the 12th and the 13th are the show's you'll be doing with us. It's just basic with Fatima, she'll go over the routines with you until you could do them in your sleep if you had to and then the 8th you start rehearsing with Nick and BOOM the 11th 12th and the 13th you perform and that's it."

"That's it?? And why didn't Nick ask me this??" I asked mischievously

"Well, Nick doesn't exactly know that it'll be you., he was upset and told us to go and find a replacement for those shows, he didn't and still doesn't want to have to relearn those routines with someone shorter or taller. That's why you're so perfect." Brian said.

"Okay…I think I got it, so when will Nick find out?" I asked.

"Not until the practice. SO DON'T YOU GO TELLING HIM ANYTHING!!" Brian said laughing as he said it.

"Okay!! Got it!! Now for the small talk…" I started.
